Decades later, the film seems to be set in the 1950s, Teddy is a detective and a horror novelist. He’s helped in both of these careers by his ability to see, and talk to, the dead. Right now he’s more concerned with Jack. Despite his secretary’s best efforts, Jack keeps turning up in his office talking about Campton Manor, in fact he’s rather insistent that Teddy investigate it.
After getting an invitation to that fateful party, Ted thinks Jack sent it,...

A group of strangers wake up somewhere with no idea of where they are, how they got there, or why they’re there. Sound familiar? That’s the starting point of Escape the Field, a new thriller from first-time feature director Emerson Moore and his co-writers Sean Wathen and Joshua Dobkin.

Now, Lake Bodom can be added to both of these short lists! In the film, an ancient murder is revisited, in which three campers were killed and one person survived. Hmm, this critic has an idea as to who the killer was. But, director Taneli Mustonen and writer Aleksi Hyvärinen have their own ideas as to the killer's identity. And, there are a few twists and turns, to experience, before finding out who that is. Reminiscent of another film, Awakening the Zodiac, a killer is brought back to life,...

*this interview is a guest post from writer and author Steven G. Farrell. Awakening the Zodiac, a new feature film thriller directed by Jonathan Wright, is set to be released in American theaters in June. The movie brings the notorious Zodiac Killer out of retirement after an almost five-decade-long hiatus from his murdering spree that accounted for the death of at least five people and the serious wounding of two victims, who survived his bullets and knife stabs. The Zodiac bestowed upon himself his astrological moniker in his taunting letters to the police and newspapers like the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times. “This is the Zodiac speaking,” became the serial killer’s infamous catchphrase that served as his eye-catching hook to his grandiose missives that sometimes included codes that promised to reveal his identity. He even boasted to having killed 37 people. The Zodiac specialty was attacking young lovers in secluded area.
