NCIS: Origins is a prequel focusing on Leroy Gibbs' early years in the 1990s. The show will feature new characters played by Tyla Abercrumbie and Diany Rodriguez. They join a cast that already includes Austin Stowell, Kyle Schmid, and Mariel Molino.
NCIS: Origins has added two new characters to its lineup. The upcoming show is a spinoff that serves as a prequel following the early years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the character played by Mark Harmon on the flagship show for 18 years. Harmon, who departed the show in season 19, will be returning as the narrator for the spinoff, which is set to premiere during the 2024-2025 television season.
Per Deadline, the NCIS: Origins prequel has brought on two additional cast members. Tyla Abercrumbie and Diany Rodriguez have joined the show as series regulars, playing the knowledgable, protective Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo and the steely, determined Special Agent Vera Strickland respectively.

Exclusive: Uncoupled is not getting saved after all. Showtime has decided not to proceed with Season 2 of the comedy series, from Emily in Paris creator Darren Star and Modern Family veteran Jeffrey Richman, Deadline has learned. A rep for the network could not be reached for comment.
The reversal comes a little over a year after Showtime stepped in to pick up the MTV Entertainment Studios-produced Uncoupled following its cancellation by Netflix after one season. Showtime’s creative team was to put the project into redevelopment to tailor it to the network’s sensibilities, and the decision not to do a second season came after months of work on that, sources said.
Series star Neil Patrick Harris revealed in June that Season 2 was supposed to start filming in early July of last year but production was delayed due to the WGA strike.

Chicago has a problem, and it's Douda Perry (Curtiss Cook). The character has extended his reach into every corner of the city and no one is safe, as evidenced by Pastor Jackson's murder. Episode 8 of Season 6 marked the first half of The Chi and as it went on break, there were some plot points left hanging. A new trailer for the second part, however, focuses on the series' big bad Douda, as he seeks to gain more control but people he's hurt begin revolting against him. Q's sister is out for blood, Emmett (Jacob Latimore) refuses to be used as a pawn anymore, while several of his henchmen have little scores to settle with him.

At the dawn of SXSW 2024 and the heart of Austin lies The Clive Bar, this year’s home to Paramount+ Presents: The Lodge, a Paramount+ experience. Now a staple of SXSW, this activation included themed sets tied to various Paramount properties, along with drinks, music, and an airbrush tattoo station.
Visitors were greeted by the rustic decor and bar setting, designated installations for each series or movie, as well as photo opps — all of it spanning three floors. There were nods to “The Chi,” “Halo,” “Mean Girls,” “Star Trek: Discovery,” “Lawman: Bass Reeves,” “Survivor,” the NFL and NCAA March Madness, and the upcoming Showtime limited series “A Gentleman in Moscow.” Three bars offered three different signature themed cocktails for visitors to sip while they explore. On Monday March 10, The Lodge will host the premiere of “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 4, a tentpole series for Paramount+ (debuted in the CBS All Access days), featuring cast and crew.

In the game of football, possession is everything.
When it comes to this year’s Super Bowl, one studio will dominate the field by running nearly a dozen spots for its upcoming and existing releases. Paramount is expected to unveil ads for the post-apocalyptic horror prequel “A Quiet Place: Day One,” the reggae biopic “Bob Marley: One Love” and “If,” the live-action fantasy comedy directed by John Krasinski and starring Ryan Reynolds. The studio’s outsized presence makes sense because the big game will air on CBS, a sister company of Paramount.
Paramount will loom large over the Super Bowl because, beyond the studio’s cinematic offerings, it will use promotional space for Paramount+. The studio’s streaming service will unspool eight ads for such titles as “Sonic the Hedgehog” spinoff “Knuckles” (a series that the studio produced for Paramount+), animated adventure “The Tiger’s Apprentice,” the Sylvester Stallone-led reality...

A year and a half ago, Get Out, Us, and Nope writer/director Jordan Peele‘s production company Monkeypaw Productions acquired the genre film pitch Goat from writers Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the plan being that Peele would be producing Goat as part of Monkeypaw’s overall deal with Universal Pictures. Earlier this month, we learned that Goat is finally moving forward, with Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie) signing on to star in the sports-related horror film as the titular greatest-of-all-time athlete. Now Deadline reports that Wayans is being joined in the cast by Tyriq Withers, whose previous credits include Horror Noire, Senior Year, Tell Me Lies, The Game, and an episode of Atlanta.
Justin Tipping – who made his feature directorial debut with the 2016 drama Kicks – will be directing the film.
Akers and Bronkie’s script centers on a promising young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.

The Chi season 5 features the same talented cast with old characters taking on bigger roles. The main characters in the show, such as Emmett, Kevin, and Jake, are played by relatively young actors. The cast includes both recognizable and lesser-known talent, with many actors having appeared in noteworthy projects.
The Chi season 5 cast members include many characters from previous seasons, comprising a talented and prolific cast. Created by Lena Waithe, the Showtime series premiered in January 2018 and is a coming-of-age drama that follows a group of individuals in the south side of Chicago who grow, love, and try to survive in a community that sees people and families intersect in unexpected ways. The show's fifth season premiered in June 2022 and, 10 episodes later, ended in September 2022. A sixth season of the series arrived in 2023, but the future of the show remains uncertain.

Showtime, one of the most trusted premium cable channels this side of HBO, is rebranding. The channel, owned by Paramount Global, is officially set to relaunch with a new name in January 2024. Get ready for the Paramount+ with Showtime era. This is a title that the company had already been leaning into on the streaming side, but now the long-standing cable channel is taking on the new branding as well. The show is over for Showtime as a standalone brand.
As of Jan. 8, 2024, Paramount Global will rebrand the linear Showtime cable network as Paramount+ With Showtime — the same name as the company’s top-tier streaming package. With the name change, the premium cable network will add select Paramount+ original series.
Confusingly, however, some subscribers of the linear Showtime channel will not have access to the Paramount+ With Showtime streaming plan. Instead, Paramount+ With Showtime cable subscribers will be able to access programming online via the authenticated streaming apps of pay-tv partners. Paramount Global does have agreements with some large pay-tv providers that allow Showtime cable subscribers to also access the Paramount+ With Showtime streaming service.
According to Paramount, “The move aligns the brand with the Paramount+ With Showtime plan, a cornerstone integration for the streaming service, making this the first of its kind multiplatform brand that integrates streaming and linear content.
