The accounting firm that counts and delivers the winning Oscars envelopes has apologized for the Best Picture mix-up at the 89th Academy Awards.
A statement from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to People reads: “We sincerely apologize to Moonlight, La La Land, Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement for Best Picture. The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected. We are currently investigating how this could have happened, and deeply regret that this occurred.”

Hours after it was announced that Bill Paxton passed away on Sunday, a commercial featuring the actor coincidentally aired during the Oscars.
During a break in the first half of the 89th Academy Awards, an older Rolex commercial aired that included a montage of actors — including Harrison Ford — in numerous films wearing the watch brand.

A prop came crashing down onto the Oscars stage on Sunday morning, just hours before the live 89th Academy Awards were set to begin.
“During a rehearsal of tonight’s 89th Oscars, a part of the set was knocked over. No one was onstage at the time and thankfully no one was hurt. The set was quickly repaired and will not impact tonight’s show. We’re looking forward to celebrating our nominees on this exciting night,” according to a statement from the Academy.
In a photo obtained by TMZ, which first reported the news, the large prop fell over and crushed a nearby camera.

Jimmy Kimmel has nothing to hide when it comes to his compensation for hosting the Oscars this year.
The talk show host discussed his upcoming debut as the award show’s Mc on Kroq’s Kevin & Bean morning show Wednesday, where he revealed he’ll be hauling in $15,000 for the gig, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Seemingly unimpressed with the relatively modest figure, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host added, “You know why? I think it’s illegal to pay nothing.”
Asked if his pay is on par with famous past hosts like Billy Crystal and Chris Rock, Kimmel replied “that’s what they told me.
