“The Mandalorian” gifted the world Baby Yoda and the first-ever live-action “Star Wars” TV show may have also gifted Disney its next big-screen star.
As Disney plots the future of “Star Wars” following “Rise of Skywalker,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said the studio could look to Disney+ characters, which will no doubt get fans excited over the possibility of getting “Baby Yoda: A Star Wars Story.” During a recent episode of the YouTube series, “The Star Wars Show,” Iger mentioned that the future of “Star Wars” is multi-platform.
“I love the ability to really be agnostic in terms of what platform it’s being made for,” Iger said. “And so it could be, down the road, that a TV show becomes a movie and a movie becomes a TV series. I’m not making any announcements here or not, but I think it’s important for us to be agnostic.

If you were disappointed by the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, fear not, as it appears The Mandalorian is concluding on a high note. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the season finale of the Disney Plus show currently has a 100 percent rating.
With 14 critics weighing in so far, “Redemption” is receiving universal praise from outlets across the board, with Keith Phipps of Vulture saying:
“The Mandalorian has worked as an adventure-of-the-week episodic show, but these past two episodes have revealed those episodes as part of a grander design telling a cohesive story.”
Phipps is right in pointing out that for most of its first season, The Mandalorian has been refreshingly simple in its storytelling. In the vein of a western from the ‘50s or The Incredible Hulk television show from the ‘70s, the Star Wars series largely follows one mysterious character traveling from place to place in each episode.

If there’s one thing Star Wars has really capitalized on, it’s the franchise’s multitude of cute and cuddly creatures. Return of the Jedi had Ewoks. The Last Jedi introduced us to Porgs. And now, The Mandalorian‘s Baby Yoda has been taking the world by storm. To be fair, we shouldn’t be entirely surprised by that last one; after all, Yoda remains one of the series’ most popular characters, and “The Child” is downright adorable by comparison.
However, despite his widespread popularity, fans from all over have noticed a distinct lack of merchandise, especially since The Mandalorian premiered just ahead of the holiday season. While some toys and other products have since gone on sale, Disney ended up losing out on millions by delaying production.
So, you might be wondering: why exactly did the House of Mouse opt to delay any Baby Yoda merch? Thankfully, Disney...

With all due respect to the many Babu Frik fans out there, Baby Yoda of The Mandalorian fame remains easily the biggest breakout star of the Star Wars franchise this year, making it all the more unusual that we still don’t know the character’s real name.
Officially, the Mandalorian’s little friend is generally referred to as “The Child” or “The Asset,” but since neither of these titles are particularly catchy, the internet quickly came to know the guy by the more meme-friendly name of “Baby Yoda.”
That being said, the nickname has been met with some resistance, partly from fans who are quick to point out that “Yoda” is not the name of The Child’s species, but merely the name of the specific character from the movies. And while this pushback to “Baby Yoda” has largely been a losing battle, it seems that showrunner Jon Favreau...

With the release of The Rise of Skywalker, the Star Wars era that began with 2015’s The Force Awakens finally comes to a close, but according to Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger, the franchise still has a busy future ahead of it.
Speaking on The Star Wars Show, the executive reflected on all that Lucasfilm has delivered since it was bought by Disney back in 2012, while suggesting that the Mouse House is only just getting started:
“It’s been an incredibly fulfilling and a very exciting journey, but actually, I think, in many respects we’re just getting started. Even if you haven’t been keeping up with The Mandalorian, you’re probably still aware of Baby Yoda. After all, ever since he first showed up at the end of the Disney Plus series’ premiere episode, the little green guy has taken the world by storm, to the point where he’s now without a doubt the most discussed and beloved part of the aforementioned show.
We imagine that even the Mouse House was probably caught a bit off guard by just how quickly the phenomenon has exploded, with both new memes and merchandise hitting the web on a seemingly daily basis. Of course, this means that the folks over at the studio, and both cast and crew from the series – and even the Star Wars movies – have had to field questions about the 50 year-old infant creature. And in a recent interview, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed something rather interesting.

The second trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker closed on a shocking shot – Rey, clad in a Sith-like black robe and wielding a double-sided red lightsaber. This surely only pointed to one thing: that she’s about to turn to the Dark Side. Obviously, fans are desperate to know the true meaning behind this clip and now, John Boyega has cleared the mystery up by revealing all in a new interview. Or at least, that’s what we were hoping he would do.

During Disney D23 Expo last month, Lucasfilm shared some exciting new footage from director J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. That trailer included an interesting shot of C-3Po with red eyes. We don’t really know what exactly that means, but it has a lot of fans speculating.
In a recent episode of The Star Wars Show, actor Anthony Daniels teased that this surprising new aspect of C-3Po is a “magnificent piece of storytelling.” He explains:
"That was so weird, because they had rigged me up with a special thing, and to look at myself in the mirror, it was scary. It's a magnificent piece of storytelling that really took me by surprise."
Some fans thought that the red-eyed droid we were seeing in the trailer was not C-3Po and that it was instead the debut of the protocol droid Triple-Zero from the Marvel Comics series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.

When the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer came out the other week, all folks could talk about was the shot of Rey looking like she’s gone to the Dark Side. Sure, this was pretty shocking, but let’s not overlook the clip that seemed to suggest the same about C-3Po. Yup, after eight movies on the side of the light, those creepy red eyes the droid was seen to sport appear to imply that a dark turn is ahead for Threepio.

The announcement of the title of a new Star Wars movie is always cause for excitement. I vaguely remember the mild skepticism that greeted the 1998 reveal that Episode I would titled The Phantom Menace, while fans were over the moon with the cool-ass sounding Revenge of the Sith. The two Sequel Trilogy movie titles have played things pretty close to their chests though, with The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi both able to be interpreted in a number of different ways.
That’s why I’m so jazzed that it’s looking like Lucasfilm are going to announce the title for Star Wars: Episode IX by the end of the week. The studio has yet to confirm that, of course, but one major clue that something’s headed our way comes via C-3Po actor Anthony Daniels, who tweeted:

Before the Corellian light freighter fell into the hands of Chewie and Han, the Falcon was a slick, refined space vessel that belonged to Lando Calrissian. And, well, it’s fair to say that the smooth-talking galactic operator was a little more proactive about maintenance and repairs.
Because in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Ron Howard will be peeling back the tarpaulin of a remodeled Millennium Falcon, long before it gained its reputation as the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. It’s a character in its own right, according to Howard, and we now have a better look at the ship’s design.

The Star Wars Show host Andi Gutierrez speaks with the Lucasfilm Story Group's Leland Chee, Pablo Hidalgo, Matt Martin, and Rayne Roberts about the secrets of the latest film in the saga. They talk about all kinds of things including Han Solo's dice from the Millennium Falcon.
I'm sure you remember near the end of the movie when Luke Skywalker hands Leia the dice. This was a touching moment, but at the same time, some people were confused as to why these dice played such a big role.
It's explained that J.J. Abrams originally had a scene in The Force Awakens that showed Han Solo return to the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon for the first time, and he puts the dice back up.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s been out for nearly a month now and so far, has been met with widespread critical acclaim. That said, there is a certain disquiet rumbling amongst a subset of the fandom due to the movie’s bold choices and unexpected turns. In contrast to the familiar, nostalgia-tinged The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi is keen to challenge our presumptions about the saga.
All that said, it’s still made with a lot of love for what has come before and as such features many a nod to the previous films in the franchise. There are some great obvious ones, for example, such as R2-D2 replaying Leia’s hologram message from A New Hope, the attack on Crait calling back to the Battle of Hoth and, last but not least, the poorly-kept secret that was Yoda’s cameo.

Wow...what a day for Star Wars fans, huh? In addition to getting the awesome (and very unexpected) news that Rian Johnson is developing an entirely new Star Wars trilogy for the big screen, we now have confirmation that a live-action TV show is in the works.
The news comes from Bob Iger himself, Disney's CEO/Chairman, during the company's quarterly earnings call. The Star Wars show is planned to arrive on Disney's new streaming service, which is expected to arrive before the end of 2019 (though, that doesn't necessarily mean the show will debut at launch).
On top of Star Wars, an all new original Marvel series is also in the works, along with a Monsters Inc.

And sure enough, The Star Wars Show has unveiled blueprints for two of Snoke’s most formidable weapons: the Dreadnought warship, and the hulking At-M6.
Proving those initial rumors to be true, the latter is essentially a super-sized version of the Empire-era At-at walkers, only this time around, the engineers over at the First Order have gone one step further to attach a MegaCaliber Six laser cannon to its back. That certainly explains the gorilla-like stance, as the machine’s elongated front legs help stabilize the Wmd during the heat of battle. The Dreadnought,...

Thanks to the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, we have our first look at two new vehicles that are being introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Both of them are First Order vehicles and they are pretty radical.
The first one is called the At-M6 which is a new updated version of the At-at. It's known as theAll Terrain Megacalibur Six and it's described as follows:
“It has a megacalibur six laser cannon on its back. Think of it as a mobile heavy artillery walker that’s way bigger than a standard At-at. And while an At-at might move like an elephant, the At-M6 has a more simian-like gait, which helps it stabilize the cannon.”
The other vehicle is called the First Order Dreadnought, which comes with the following description:
“The Dreadnought is a mandatory four class warship and has two enormous orbital auto cannons, which can be used for larger-scale bombardments.

It’s August, and we have approximately 113 days until we have Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the eighth saga installment of the franchise, graces our eyes. Slowly but surely, a lot of the pieces are falling into place for the film. We have an idea of the stakes, the subplots, the tone of the film, as well as some of the character developments. However, we are severely lacking in some vehicular details here.
That ends today. The folks over at The Star Wars Show shared with us some details regarding two vehicles. The first one is something that will look very familiar to longtime fans of the franchise, and it comes in the form of the At-M6. This bad boy’s initialism stands for All-Terrain MegaCaliber Six. Of course, the At refers to the fact that it can walk over stuff, and the MegaCaliber Six refers to the laser cannon on its back.

Ever since A New Hope first blasted onto the big screen 40 years ago, Star Wars has been capable of bringing out the inner child in us all. Be it the sweeping vistas of far-flung alien worlds or that by-now famous shot of Luke Skywalker gazing at the twin sunset aboard Tatooine, this is a franchise that means many things to many people, so it’s small wonder why Rian Johnson took a moment to let it all sink in upon signing on to direct Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Fast forward to now, and with only four months left until The Last Jedi‘s release, Johnson swung by The Star Wars Show (via THR) to discuss all things Episode VIII – within reason, of course.

Over the past couple months, the standalone Han Solo Star Wars spinoff has gone through a lot of drama. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were ejected from the director’s chair, and in their place, Lucasfilm placed the season veteran Ron Howard. The film still looks to make its May 2018 release date, but there’s no doubt that Howard has his work cut out for him.
Though while they’ve hit a massive speed bump, the production trudges forward, and according to The Star Wars Show, the Han Solo film has locked down their composer. Putting together the dulcet tones for the film is John Powell. He may be no Michael Giacchino or John Williams as far as recognition, but he’s done plenty of quality music.

Forget the colorful characters of Star Wars: The Last Jedi; Rian Johnson’s sci-fi sequel is packed to the rafters when it comes to cutting-edge vehicles.
Spread across land, sea, and air, those machines purportedly include the First Order’s massive assault walkers – dubbed “Gorilla Walkers,” these towering titans are said to be considerably bigger than the At-ATs of old. For Kylo Ren, though, after failing to crush the Resistance aboard Starkiller Base, Adam Driver’s mercurial villain will resume the fight against Rey and the rest of the gang with all guns blazing. And thanks to the folks over at The Star Wars Show, we now know the identity of Kylo Ren’s shiny new toy: the Tie Silencer.
It’s Ren’s personal spacecraft, essentially, and below you’ll see how the Silencer – full name: Sienar Fleet Systems Jaemus Tie V/N Space Superiority Fighter – resembles the classic Tie Interceptor from Empire.

The Star Wars Show has returned from Orlando’s Celebration event bearing gifts – namely, a pair of interviews with Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn) in anticipation of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
First up, the Jedi. Reflecting on the film’s show-stopping teaser trailer, co-hosts Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni asked Daisy Ridley about Rey’s ongoing training process – a rigorous regime conducted by Luke Skywalker himself. Mark Hamill’s all-powerful Force user is clearly a more haggard, world-weary Jedi than the Luke of old – “it’s time for the Jedi to end.” – leading to heated speculation regarding Luke’s ultimate fate in Rian Johnson’s sequel. Will The Last Jedi really spell the end of Mark Hamill’s involvement in the Star Wars universe? It’s too soon to tell.

Do evil droids dream of electrocuting sheep? Droids have been part of the fabric of the Star Wars universe since its inception. C-3P0’ fear of death and castigation of R2-D2 for being reckless is literally our introduction into a galaxy far, far away. “Did you hear that? They shut down the main reactor. We'll be destroyed for sure. This is madness.” Those are the lines of a creature that is in fear for his very life. From those first lines, Star Wars has quietly ignored the rancor in the room: Droids are sentient creatures, which makes them an enslaved species. To borrow a great speech from the other ‘Star’ property, Captain Jean-Luc Picard of Star Trek described the plight of the droids (and, let’s be honest, the clones too) best. In case the video isn’t working or you’re at work (your secret is safe with me!

Following the most recent batch of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stills, The Star Wars Show has debuted our first glimpse of C2-B5, Aka emo R2-D2. C2 is an Imperial droid, and the reason he looks so much like Artoo with a black paint-job is because they are both part of the astromech family. This little fella may not play much of a role in the actual story, but he's definitely a cool looking addition to the movie. Let's hope we also get an evil, jet-black version of C-3Po at some point. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The movie opens in U.

K-2So isn't the only new droid introduced in this winter's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Lucasfilm has revealed the existence of C2-B5, a brand new Imperial astromech droid that looks pretty much like R2-D2's goth twin. C2 was revealed on this week's episode of Lucasfilm's The Star Wars Show, which suggested that the all-black droid might reveal more about the way in which the Empire treats its cybernetic help; host Peter Townley explained that, as an Imperial droid, C2 requires periodical memory wipes to ensure loyalty. Could the process of memory wiping play into the

The Star Wars Show revealed a new droid today that might have an important role in the upcoming Rogue One. Is this an evil R2-D2 or is there something more to this story? Around 2:08 in the latest episode, we're introduced to a new astromech droid called C2-B5. Being an astromech, of course, this new droid looks a lot like our beloved R2-D2 but this one works for the Imperial Army. So my snap judgment is that its evil. But can a droid be evil? Well, depends on their master, I guess. Though they have been known to be as close to the word as I can imagine in the past (*cough*Triple-Zero*cough*BT-1*cough*). "As you may know, the Galactic Empire relies on astromech droids to maintain its machinery but unlike the Rebel Alliance, the Imperial technicians do not grant their droids independence and subject...
