Children of Hope

This is a great episode as the Rebels discover the Inquisitors mission to find force sensitive children to eliminate them and crush any hope of new Jedi in the future.

There is a super cute little alien child and some fun dialogue but there is also some very dark threat and an epic battle as Ahsoka dramatically joins the action. That moment is brilliant and overall the episode is very strong.

My rating: 8.5/10.

The Future of the Force

When this episode began, it really did remind me of that specific arc in the previous animated series. And then, when it was mentioned in this episode, I realized that it was always meant to. I like how they take up these old storylines again, but with new spins. This was a great episode, and exactly the one that I needed after so many other episodes that didn't do anything for the story. This furthered the adventures a lot of, and reintroduced the Inquisitors again. I will say that I was a little bit confused with the consistency of the episode, because a few things seems like they had been changed for this episode, so I would have liked a little more consistency. However, I loved everything else. The action sequences were fast and swift, and the final duel between Ahsoka and the Inquisitors brought a big smile to my face. I love her character and I think that she has a great part to play here. The final scene also set up great things to come, so I am excited to see what they do next. As long as they dedicate a few more episodes to the storyline, before going back to the other kind again.

And the children too

Warning: Spoilers
Another Rebels episode borrowing a bit from other Star Wars material. Baddies show up kidnapping babies that are force sensitive. I find it interesting that these writers have reused some plot points from other Star Wars stuff but managed to make them feel fresh still. The baby Ezra carries around is so cute. I have a soft spot for people losing kids, so I was immediately rooting for the good guys in this episode.

The writers did NOT have to give us such an excellent Ahsoka scene. That was unexpected, well done, and just so freaking sweet. I often don't think about her being the apprentice to eventual DARTH VADER so her mad skills make a lot of sense. I can't wait to see more of her and everyone else too.

Sarah Michelle Gellar's voice work is excellent btw.

Great episode. I'm excited for more.

Plot; Ahsoka and Kanan race against time to save Force sensitive infants from the Inquisitors.

Interesting premise, but a middling episode until Ahsoka squares off against the two Inquisitors at the end. Ahsoka is not a character I've really warmed to, even as an adult and full fledged Jedi, but she gets a pretty awesome kick (shut your mouth!) moment here that had me grinning. I also really love Sarah Michelle Gellar as the Seventh Sister. She clearly relishes playing a baddie, and her icy arrogance is deliciously pitch perfect. And she gets a scene with real life hubby Freddie Prinze Jr. Oh Mr. Prinze, how I envy thee.
