That scene with The Mayor, side splitting.

German guy Peter asks The Detectorists for help, to find a crash site that could perhaps be the place where his grandfather's plane crashed down.

Another funny installment, some cracking one liners, and funny moments, that scene with The Mayor was hilarious, you can only wonder what he was up to.

I can't wait to see who Andy's date is.

I have spent most of this series wondering if some of the faces from the past would come back, and also wondering if we'd see any new people.

Seeing Simon and Garfunkel back, brilliant, the pair are so wonderfully cooky, and bring out a different side of Lance and Andy. I'm missing Maggie and Tony, hopefully they'll put in another appearance soon.

Excellent, 8/10.

Sophie meets up with Peter to help him in his research into the, World War II German aircraft that crashed locally.

Becky has to endure an interminable Staff Meeting at her Primary School, that degenerates into a squabble over the unavailability of staff parking spaces.

Andy nips along to the library ostensibly to help Sophie and Peter in their research, but am I mistaken in thinking that he imagines himself to be a gooseberry?

Becky is agitated about her school life and feeling desperately frustrated she phones Andy with the utmost need to discuss it. And has just spotted Lance in a cafe with an attractive young woman and he feels impelled to take a quick shufti, so as to not miss out on anything. Andy is hiding opposite the cafe and decides to phone Lance for a quick chat, asking him where he is. Lance lying through his teeth claims to be in Screwfix.

Sophie and Peter bring all of the research to the next DMDC Club Meeting where Peter asks for the Clubs help in getting Permission to Search the Crash Site from the Ministry. Terry is not only pleased to help and considers that when they do get Permission, they could possibly hold the Clubs Annual Rally at the Site.

The local Mayor turns up at the Club Meeting seeking help in locating, his Ceremonial Chain of Office that he has misplaced. Terry says that Russell and Hugh run an, Jewelry Recovery Unit and they will be glad to help. The Mayor tells them where he lost it ,and Hugh asks if they can call the local papers when they find it. But the Mayor seems embarrassed and claims that he was going to give the Club a donation, and doesn't want the publicity.

Andy and Lance arrived at their Search Site and Sophie and Peter turned up, going to recce a possible Site Area for his grandfathers plane crash.

Andy tries to find out from Lance who he was with in the cafe, by claiming that Becky had seen him with a woman. But Lance is very evasive refusing to give anything away.

Simon & Garfunkel arrived on the scene and in their discussion tell Lance and Andy, about their new metal detectorist club 'The Dirt Sharks'
