- Several scenes sometime asks someone if they have weed or can get it
- Drug use is a major element in this film, although it is not remotely graphic. Most of the conflict and terrible events in this film are caused by the chaotic nature of marijuana use. The use of this drug, which is exclusive, is usually brief and not graphic but is frequently discussed and shown in a bag.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The film is very intense and dark (therefor the name) and several scenes throughout are very upsetting. There is violence against teen characters presented realistically (but not super graphically) and can be very disturbing to watch. The final scene of the film depicts two innocent girls maimed, one of them fatally, followed by a brutal and bloody fight.

Violence & Gore
- A teenage boy gets stabbed in the neck with a sword. There is a great deal of blood and it's very intense.
- Two young women are attacked by a young man, one is killed (assumingly by being stabbed), and the other is tied up and cut on the back of the neck. We see mostly the aftermath of all this. There is blood on the walls, the bed and mirror.
- Two young men fight, one has a sword, and he slices the other man in the back, the arm, and seemingly the head. There is a good deal of blood and it's very intense.

- Boys are hanging out and one boy accidentally kills another. Blood is shown. Other kids are killed through out movie
