Karl Brevik was originally slated to play Batman in a 2014 collaboration with Writer/Director Jon Eddy. However, after an auto accident, Batman was needed to be recast due to the physicality of the role. Karl was then re-cast as The Joker, with his acting and cosplay as the character now being a staple in the Colorado acting community and national convention circuit.
Jon Eddy went into writing the 21 page script knowing that it would be his final performance piece in Minor League baseball working for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. With the amount of pre-produced video needed to make the event work live (nearly 12 minutes) Jon decided that this performance piece could have a second life as a movie short and stand on it's own merits.
Tentatively takes place between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
The movie is presented in the older 4:3 or "box" aspect ratio rather than the now standard 16:9 widescreen because the video board at Security Service Field has a 4:3 aspect ratio. Being that all pre-recorded video was originally designed specifically for the video board for the live performance on September 5th, 2015, the movie is edited in the same format.
