Jazz Jennings, star of TLC’s I Am Jazz wants to make something perfectly clear: she has zero regrets about being a woman.
Jennings was one of the youngest individuals to transition from male to female and her journey and life has been documented in her I Am Jazz series. Now in college, Jennings said she still deals with misinformation and false narratives about her life, mainly from right-wing hosts.
For the first time in two years, Jennings posted a YouTube, clarifying that she is happy with who she is and that any anxiety she expressed on I Am Jazz had nothing to do with her transition.
Jazz Jennings is being misgendered and falsely accused of regretting her transition
Joined by her brother Sander, Jennings read headlines that insisted she regrets her transition. One article repeatedly referred to Jennings using he/him/his pronouns. “Don’t misgender me,” she said in her YouTube video.

Jennings shared a video of her speaking outside Capitol Hill. She also captioned the video with the statement that she is transgender and proud. But she wanted to use the opportunity to address “false narratives” about who she is and her family.

Season seven of I am Jazz is coming to TLC, and "there's a lot of adult energy," according to cast member Ari Jennings. In an E! exclusive clip, we get a sneak peek at what's to come in the new season of I Am Jazz, premiering Nov. 30, and it's safe to say things are heating up in the Jennings' kitchen as Jazz Jennings prepares to head to college, and the rest of the siblings, well, make a mess of the house. "Definitely they're very messy," Ari says as she points to her brothers, Sander Jennings and Griffen Jennings, before the clip shows Sander flipping an omelet onto the ground. He may not have stuck the landing, but A for effort! "It was much...

With so much reality TV available it’s hard to find concepts where that reality can compel an audience to stick around. Too much conflict can come off as fake or forced. Or there’s the opportunity to go the other way, and make the reality seem particularly real because of a “day in the life” method — which has always been popular in documentary. There’s nothing good that old-fashioned cinema verite can’t achieve. But often that can cause things to feel just as fake or forced, and such is the issue with Amazon Prime Video’s four-part docuseries “Always Jane.”
“Always Jane” follows high school senior Jane Noury, a transgender teen awaiting her gender affirming surgery, planning for college, and stepping into the world of modeling. By her side are her parents, David and Laura, her two sisters, and her grandfather.

Jazz Jennings is letting fans in on her ongoing health journey with the new season of I Am Jazz. TLC released the first look at the unscripted series' forthcoming seventh season on Monday, Nov. 1, including footage of the 21-year-old reality star candidly discussing her recent struggles with binge eating. At the start of the promo, Jazz recalled her life's ups and downs since her acceptance to Harvard University. "Two years ago, I was on my way to one of the greatest institutions in the world, but I was actually struggling severely with mental health issues," she said in voiceover. "I started binge eating, and I gained weight, and more weight, and more weight. And now, almost 100...

Lance Bass is a lifelong fan of “The Bachelor” and this summer, he landed his dream job hosting a show from the franchise, as one of the rotating guest hosts on the current season of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
The former boy-bander ends his three-episode run on Tuesday, and Bass had such a good experience on the show, he wants to do it again.
In fact, he has an idea for a new series: “If you want the most dramatic season ever, do an LGBT version,” Bass says with a laugh.
“I think maybe it’s the time for ‘The Bachelor’ to do a gay Bachelor. I think that would be so much fun,” Bass says. “And I definitely know a host if you need it.”
“I have not talked to anyone about that, but I would be so down,” he adds.

I’m so proud to bring you our annual Pride Issue, which highlights the joys and struggles of trans youth. Our charismatic cover subject, 20-year-old Jazz Jennings, made headlines in 2007 at age 6 when she gave a nationally televised interview to Barbara Walters about identifying as a girl. That led to Jennings’ popularity as a TV personality and YouTube sensation and her becoming a vital role model for so many in the trans community.
“It’s not hyperbolic to say that Jazz has actually saved lives,” says GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis. “She’s shown trans youth that you can be happy, healthy and accepted. And in the trans community, representation matters greatly. So many trans youth are at risk and have contemplated or attempted suicide, so seeing someone like Jazz is a bright light for them.”

In 2007, six-year-old Jazz Jennings went on national television to tell Barbara Walters the same thing she’d been telling her parents, siblings and anyone else who would listen: She was, despite her birth certificate’s insistence otherwise, a girl.
Shy and sweet, Jennings answered Walters’ probing questions with the clarity and patience of someone used to explaining herself over and over again. “She was so charismatic, so charming and so clearly herself,” Laverne Cox says of first seeing that “20/20” interview. “Her humanity was so on display that you couldn’t deny she had the right to be who she was.” It was a watershed moment for transgender visibility in media, not least because it made Jennings one of the youngest documented trans people to speak her truth for millions of viewers to hear.
It’d be easy for Jennings to say she always knew that moment would be life-changing.

“I Am Jazz” has been renewed for Season 7 at TLC, Variety has learned exclusively.
Starring trans activist Jazz Jennings, TLC’s reality series premiered in 2015 as a 14 year-old Jennings prepared to go to high school, and wrapped its sixth season in March 2020 with her graduation as valedictorian. Over the years, viewers have watched Jennings, who became the youngest trans child on television after her 2007 “20/20” interview with Barbara Walters, deal with school, sports, dating and her health as she moved forward with her transition.
Season 6 saw Jennings helping a friend raise money for her gender confirmation surgery, manage her anxiety, and try to decide between attending Pomona College or Harvard University after high school. After a two-year break in filming, the longest in the show’s history, production on the seventh season will begin this summer in South Florida where Jennings currently lives with her family.

Jazz Jennings underwent major life moments in Season 5 of her TLC reality show, “I Am Jazz.” The reality star, who was assigned male at birth but knew herself to be female at the age of five, finally received gender confirmation surgery at the age of 17. The procedure was documented on “I Am Jazz” earlier this year but for Jennings, it is coming up on a year since the surgery. Almost a year later, she says she is “feeling great.” Speaking further on her emotional experience, she adds, “The surgery really brought me a great sense of peace because I finally had that mind-body alignment that I had been looking for my entire life. Now I feel like I’m in the body I always wanted and I’m just feeling confident and like myself.” Watch Jennings’ full video interview with Gold Derby above.

With all the media hype and back and forth talk about transgender discussions going on these days an article such as this could be a highly sensitive piece that some people might really disagree with. But I Am Jazz is unfortunately one of those shows that puts it all out there in a bid to make the transgender world seem a bit less uncertain and easier to understand. The unfortunate part however is that it also leaves a lot of room for open discussion and, at times, very wide avenues of criticism ranging from constructive to the downright hateful and
