- Dr. Sam Radford: Well, who said being a parent was a popularity contest. Matter of fact, the more he dislikes me, the more I know I'm doing my job.
- Brandon Russell: Well, I'm a cop, and what I see... is trouble.
- Cassie Nightingale: Mmm, "trouble" and "troubled" are two entirely different things.
- Ryan Elliott: [about to get his knee drained by his romantic rival] Is this gonna hurt?
- Dr. Sam Radford: Only if I want it to.
- Dr. Sam Radford: Are you running?
- Mayor Martha Tinsdale: Me? Oh, heavens no! My fellow citizens and constituents don't want to see their esteemed mayor running down the middle of the street all sweaty. No, I officiate. And, I hand out the medals.
- Dr. Sam Radford: Oh.
- Mayor Martha Tinsdale: "Oh? "Oh?" And what is "oh" supposed to mean?
- Dr. Sam Radford: Nothing.
- Mayor Martha Tinsdale: I could run, should I choose to do so.
- Dr. Sam Radford: I didn't say you couldn't.
- Mayor Martha Tinsdale: Well, I think you did - and I accept your chall-ah-nge.
- [pronounced: shall-ONGE]
- Mayor Martha Tinsdale: [throws glove to the ground at Sam's feet]
- Dr. Sam Radford: I-I didn't "chall-an-nge" you.
- Mayor Martha Tinsdale: Oh, no-no-no. You can't take it back now. I will see YOU on race day, Dr. Radford.
- Grace Russell: [while watching Anthony] You're a runner, right?
- Nick Radford: Yeah.
- Grace Russell: You could help him.
- Nick Radford: Why would I do that?
- Grace Russell: [sighs] Sorry. What was I thinking, asking you to care about something besides yourself? That's just crazy. well, see you.
