could easily be the birthday party for the show
A_Different_Drummer2 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
After two successful seasons, the episode could just as easily be celebrating itself as Lizzie's birthday.

Props to the writers for making peace with some of the more jarring arcs:

* Tom, excellently played by Ryan Eggold, is back in the story, and frankly he was missed. Great work by Eggold, effortless going from loving husband to sociopathic killer.

* Red's character has become accepting of the fact that Lizzie's memory is damaged and this puts the viewer at rest also. Since this is the long arc, one does not expect to see it resolved anytime soon

* there was minimal violence in this one (unless you count the involuntary brain surgery and torture) but it moved along and held the interest well

Another Mad Doctor

In addition to the usual political tug of war, we have another nut who was responsible for his wife being brain dead. He has chosen to do extensive research to get brain cells to regenerate, using jellyfish and other tissue. Of course, to do his experiments, he needs bodies and he has no qualms about killing a few people who already have problems. In order to fund this, he gets into bed with a rich guy who wants to live forever and convinces him that this is where his research is leading. Once again, old Tom appears at Liz's door. He has been dismantled by his German buddies. We also get into the plans of that politician who is working to become attorney general. It's an OK episode. Lizzie begins to face her own mortality and disappointment.

At least try

I think its going hard downhill here. And as a native german speaker, this "german bits" are unbearable to hear. They should stick with english if theyre too cheap to employ anyone speaking at least a little german.

I needed subtitles to unterstand anything.
