  Martha Rodgers : Well... it's always been a big fantasy of his to be a private investigator. And he says that things are picking up, he's getting more calls at the office every day.

  Kate Beckett : Yeah, from fans wanting to meet him. Or people with crazy theories about where he disappeared to for two months. Or cases that aren't even worth looking into, like missing cats.

  Martha Rodgers : Oh... Well, that does seem a bit beneath him.

  Kate Beckett : You know, he did this because he was hoping that we would be able to work together again, and he thought he might have some interesting cases to solve. But right now, it doesn't seem like he's getting much of either.

  Martha Rodgers : Well, and if I know my son, then, uh...

  Martha Rodgers : ... he may be sticking with it because he's too proud to walk away.

  Martha Rodgers : Well, you're in a good mood.

  Kate Beckett : Castle, the site looks amazing.

  Richard Castle : My clients deserve only the best.

• Kate Beckett : So, busy day ahead?

  Richard Castle : While I admit the public clamor for Richard Castle Investigations has been somewhat muted, I do have a meeting with a client this morning.

  Kate Beckett : Ah, on a case rife with mystery and intrigue, I hope.

  Richard Castle : Not exactly. Though I will gain some classic gumshoe experience. The client wants me to do a background check on the daughter's new boyfriend. The boyfriend is sixteen.

  Kate Beckett : Look, Castle, you've got nothing to prove here. To me or to anyone else. Now is this really what you wanna do?

  Richard Castle : Well, I'm just starting out. I mean, I have to become established, right? I gotta pay my dues. What do- What do you think?

  Kate Beckett : I think that if this is what you really wanna do, then I'm behind you all the way.

  Richard Castle : Thanks. And once I do become established, much like my Nikki Heat novels were inspired by you, my new series of P.I. novels will be inspired by me. I'll be my own muse.

  Kate Beckett : You should have stopped at "thanks."

• Javier Esposito : Hey.

  Kate Beckett : Hey.

  Javier Esposito : Castle trying to crash the crime scene again?

• Kate Beckett : Hey, Perlmutter. So, tell me about our victim.

  M.E. Sidney Perlmutter : Detective Beckett, so pleasant to see you.

  Kate Beckett : Thank you.

  M.E. Sidney Perlmutter : And not see Castle.

  Kevin Ryan : Yeah.

  Javier Esposito : It needs work.

• Richard Castle : [on phone]  As a man of fortitude and character, I will resist the temptation to weasel in on your investigation. But I must confess I have major case envy.

  Kate Beckett : So you heard about Anahita Menendez?

  Richard Castle : Yeah, I talked to a uniform at the scene. Is it true? Rising young telanovela star struck down at her apartment? Why do you get all the cases rife with mystery and intrigue?

  Kate Beckett : Oh, all I did was refer a case. You're the one who solved it. So how does it feel to have your first satisfied customer?

  Richard Castle : Like I wanna satisfy another one.

  Kate Beckett : Oh, I think that can be arranged.

  Richard Castle : As the sun set on the mean streets of the naked city, I could feel my luck was about to change. The killer was caught, my case was closed, and hanging on my arm was the dame of my dreams.

  Kate Beckett : [sighs]  Are you gonna be doing that all night?

  Richard Castle : Not if it hurts my chances.
