No Budget Fiasco
voicemanunltd7 April 2020
The Bad: Terrible performances by (almost) all. Lousy makeup. Timing was awful. No character depth. The Good: A few genuine laughs. Everyone involved (sadly) seemed to be putting in effort. The story was (darkly) fun. ------------- I'm guessing these people met in their first community theatre class and immediately decided they had the whole show biz thing figured out. The only one who didn't stink was the guy who had no lines. The script was there, but not one of them could get it out with any conviction. I did like how the w/d, Greg Blair, repeatedly made fun of himself and played the group dummy. The cast seemed to be having fun during production. There are a few bloopers during the credits. Ultimately, a waste of 68 minutes. -------------- To all involved, keep trying. Just about everyone stinks when they're starting out. It looked like most of you have potential. Now STOP POSTING TEN STAR REVIEWS FOR YOURSELVES! NOTHING IS TEN STARS! ------------- I was going to give a generous five stars, despite the myriad of obvious flaws, but I took away two stars because of the fake reviews.

I can't, in good conscience, recommend this film.

I like a low budget, quirky film as much as the next person, but Christ on a bike, this movie takes the absolute biscuit

Wacky Horror Mashup
deandraslater19 January 2021
A bunch of suburban friends huddle inside their house after a lunatic with a pickaxe crashes their party and kills their friend. Before long, they're at each other's throats in some hilarious ways.

It took me up until the 20 minute mark to really get into Garden Party Massacre. The humor and performances take some getting used to. Not every performance hits the mark every single time and many of the comedy bits fall flat, but when it works, it works really well and there are enough genuinely funny moments to make it a worthwhile watch. Even better, the film takes some really insane twists and turns right as it's starting to wind down into "been there, done that" territory.

A Fun Independent Horror Comedy With Intriguing Surprises!!!
Pumpkin_Man20 March 2019
I've waited at least three years to finally see this movie. I'd say it was well worth the wait. This movie was fun and entertaining. This is why more people should support independent horror, because Hollywood can't do it like this. Lots of pop culture references, interesting characters, red velvet cake, and a psychotic killer on the loose. This movie definitely has some really cool surprises and twists that I never would have expected and I dare not spoil them for you. See for yourself and enjoy the epicness. I love the randomness of it all; one minute, it's friends talking, then the next, a killer shows up to crash the garden party. This movie doesn't take itself too seriously. Some of the characters are silly and dim-witted, and that's what makes it funny. It becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse. The movie was a little short. Maybe if this does well and becomes a new cult classic, they'll make a sequel. If you love slashers, garden parties, red velvet cake, and twists, I highly recommend GARDEN PARTY MASSACRE!!

A slasher of a great time.
This is the movie that a lot of comedy/horror films try to be. From frame one you can tell that the entire cast and crew put nothing but love into this unlike the mechanically churned out horror spoof movies of the last 2 decades. And the great thing is, just as soon as you think you have this movie all figured out, it will spin you on a fine and take you to a whole new level. Gregory Blair and company took a small, independent movie and made it a raucous good time. Well worth checking out

Hilarious spoof of horror films!
rjq-137-24557417 April 2019
Kooky characters, snappy dialogue and over the top craziness will have you laughing out loud over and over. Imagine the cast of a sitcom suddenly trapped in a horror film and you get the idea. Pop culture riffs and horror movie tropes are splattered all over the place. In fact, there are tons more laughs than blood which, as a comedy first and foremost, works just fine. And even the massacre, when it finally comes, is not exactly what you'd expect.

A really fun film I could watch over and over.

If you think you've got it all figured out from the title, think again. Garden Party Massacre will make you laugh and shriek and completely surprise you as you watch the craziness the party goers go through in just one afternoon. The cast was terrific and the assortment of personalities of the characters are more delicious than a crudite platter. Oh and spoiler alert.....there IS a crudite platter! This film won so many awards, including best film and director and several for best ensemble cast. All well-deserved! Fans of horror, who have a sense of humor too, will love Garden Party Massacre. I sure did!

Bombastic!
brandon-7179323 September 2022
This is the kind of zany, outrageous and funny filmmaking that just makes me smile. This movie blurs genre lines and mixes humor and horror tropes successfully. This is simply big fun served up in a bite size budget! While super indie movies aren't for everyone, my advice is to throw caution to the wind when watching this one. If you have no preconceived expectations, you will be surprised and thoroughly entertained by this humor and blood soaked romp! This is a well executed production based on an exceedingly original and offbeat screenplay by Gregory Blair. The cast performs the hell out of this one in a bombastic go for broke style!
