One of the best in a long time
lars_wagner30 January 2015
I've never wrote a review before here on IMDb. Never really knew the words to describe something really epic or something that is so bad that I couldn't stop laughing or felt embarrassed and looked away. This is one hell of an episode that I'd break the tradition for of keeping my mouth shut.

Louis knows and used his leverage to finally get what he wants in the last episode. Now he's a name partner. But it's not enough. No.. He will make sure that people know and never forget that he finally got what he wanted. And it is brilliant!

Before watching this episode, I decided to watch the last five episodes before the season break. They were all great, made me come to the conclusion that season 4 is the best season yet, even though not all episodes have aired yet. The second time I watched "This is Rome" I enjoyed it even better than the first. I never really thought there could be a better one so soon, but the writers and cast of this amazing show never seem to fail to amaze me. I don't want to spoil anything. Go see it for yourself if you like this show as much as I do. You're going to thank me for recommending it..

Excellent episode

Warning: Spoilers
I also re-viewed " This is Rome" to get prepared for the long-waited 11-th episode, and I'm not sorry for waiting...

The episode is amazing - Louis exploits an apparently minor mistake made by Mike, and get his job back..plus his name on the wall(senior partner).

I understand his anger, but I don't understand why his anger is focused mostly on Mike and Rachel...He is determined to destroy them, even if they are not responsible for him being sacked. I also don't understand Donna's efforts to be so nice with Louis, while he offends her repeatedly..This looks a little artificial for me ( it wouldn't work in real life:) ) , but overall, the episode is amazing.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all Rick Hoffman did a hell of a job this episode. Litt it up perfectly.

I was irked on him throughout What an actor !

~Louis is like a child.

His affections and his outrage both are extremes.

But this in no way that should alternate the fact that he used mike's weakness to bargain his end of the gain which an episode earlier he was sorry about that there's a reason his name isn't on the wall.

He made too many mistakes, he knows it, everybody knows it.

It's not a lollipop that he expects to have been shared the secret with.

~A bully can only be defeated by a bigger bully.

He's not used to being nice to, so don't be nice to him. He'll exploit you

~ The way Jessica said what she meant to say and threw him at his face near the elevator and then manipulated it by saying that's what Harvey would've done .

Louis doesn't deserve the name partner .

I Want It All Now

We have been told over and over about Louis being swayed by emotion. That is true, but he also is a climber and can as easily step on anyone. This episode is about his taking his newfound leverage and punishing anyone he feels wronged him. Harvey and Jessica are, of course, at the top of the list, but now he has Mike and Rachel under his thumb. He is also mistreating Donna, who has stood by him time after time. He also organizes a party where he can get applause and adulation, which leads to a lukewarm response. But we know there is something in the works and Louis isn't stupid--he has a sense that there is an undercurrent in the firm. But his name is now on the wall. It's all he ever wanted. Remember, however, the room at the top, was just a worn out desk with cobwebs coming from it. What a great series of episodes to get here.

Just when I thought it's going to be despair for Mike and Rachel in the hands of Louis. Well it's not and there's a twist. Harvey is pathetic when it comes to relationships.

Terrible and laughable
tqnnqsg4 February 2024
As soon as Louis doesn't report the Firm & Mike he becomes part of the deceit. So going around like he's Billy Big B@lls is just laughable. Everyone else is worried once they know. It means real trouble if they get caught. Louis seems to have taken a big bunch of stupid pills and so have the shows writers. Have to say that I am currently watching the show some years after this episode aired. But come on writers this is lame.

Why doesn't anyone call his bluff? Hand him a phone to call the cops! Because this episode now has Louis locked into the lie, a named partner, a reward for joining in the deceit and if you had 2 brain cells to rub together you'd keep your mouth shut. Terrible take.
