Nathan Zellner and David Zellner’s Sasquatch Sunset is stomping into circa 850 theaters this weekend after debuting in 9 with a solid opening for a film many could find weird. A tribe of Sasquatch, possibly the last of their kind, live and love in the woods of northern California, where it was shot.
“We are taking Bigfoot to America. We have high hopes that the broader market will embrace the movie,” says Kyle Davies of distributor Bleecker Street, calling it “a very different” kind of movie and “a bit of an unknown.”
“It’s a wildcard.”
Marketing was mainly through social activations. “I wouldn’t call it traditional marketing. It doesn’t really fit in that box,” Davies adds. The Sasquatch standees in theaters are fun. And Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar is displaying a baby Sasquatch sitting in a glass case with umbilical cord and placenta.
This is “a polarizing film.

Dn last spoke with Colby Day when we premiered his one-shot short Lead/Follow back in early 2023. Day’s movement-led film caught our eye with its brisk yet all-encompassing depiction of the different stages of a romantic relationship. It’s a really special film and it left us eagerly anticipating what Day would make next. Then earlier this year it was announced that Day’s next project, this time as a screenwriter, would be playing Berlinale before premiering on Netflix shortly after. The project in question was Spaceman, an Adam Sandler and Carey Mulligan-starring science fiction drama directed by Johan Renck about an astronaut deep in the throes of space where he encounters a strange alien spider (voiced by Paul Dano) who helps him reflect on his failings as a husband. Similarly to Lead/Follow, Spaceman is an impressively expansive film that at its heart is about the trials...

Plot: An astronaut realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth.
Desperate to fix things with his wife, he is helped by a mysterious ancient creature he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship.
Review: It should no longer be surprising when Adam Sandler stars in dramatic roles. When Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch-Drunk Love was released in 2002, Sandler was best known for films like Big Daddy and Little Nicky. Even though Sandler still releases broad comedies like Hubie Halloween and Murder Mystery, the actor has proven his talents in movies like Uncut Gems and Hustle. Adam Sandler’s latest dramatic project is Spaceman, a science-fiction tale set in the void of the solar system. Partnered with Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan and acclaimed director Johan Renck, Spaceman is another solid performance from Adam Sandler that once again proves how...

Director duo the Daniels are making their next film at Universal, with their Untitled Event Film now scheduled for June 2026.
Having broken into the mainstream with the critical and financial success of 2022’s Everything Everywhere All At Once, director duo the Daniels have no doubt had a lot of offers for more work thrown at them.
In the wake of their hit sci-fi comedy mash-up, though, the filmmakers – known individually as Daniel Scheinart and Daniel Kwan – signed a first-look deal with Universal Pictures in August 2022.
It’s all been rather quiet since then, but now Variety reports that their next project has popped up on Universal’s release calendar – currently stuck with the placeholder ‘Untitled Event Film Directed by Daniels’, it’s scheduled for 12th June 2026.
What else is known about the project? At present, nada. Even Variety’s industry connections haven’t managed to uncover who’s likely to...

Oscar-winning directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known professionally as Daniels, will debut their cinematic follow-up to “Everything Everywhere All at Once” in 2026.
Universal Pictures, which recently signed an exclusive first-look deal with the filmmakers, added to its release calendar an “Untitled Event Film Directed by Daniels” on June 12, 2026. There is zero information — no title, genre, nor stars — available about the film.
The directing duo’s zany sci-fi-adventure-comedy “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was backed by A24 and became the first indie film since the pandemic to clear $100 million at the global box office. The movie stars Michelle Yeoh as a struggling laundromat owner who, while being audited by the IRS, discovers she has to connect with parallel universe versions of herself to prevent cataclysmic destruction. It won seven Oscars, including best picture.

Almost a year after Everything Everywhere All at Once took over the Oscars, the filmmaking duo behind the indie sensation are getting closer to their next feature.
Universal has set a June 12, 2026 release date for the next film from filmmakers Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert). No other details were available, though the studio is describing it as an “untitled event film,” suggesting a large scope for the project.
It’s the first feature stemming from a long-term pact Daniels inked with Universal in the summer of 2022, months before they won for best picture, best director and best original screenplay at the Oscars, making them the hottest directing duo in the film business.
Daniels came up in the world of music videos, helming DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What.” They made their directorial debut with the Sundance feature Swiss Army Man, starring Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe...

American Psycho starring Christian Bale released back in 2000. The character of Patrick Bateman was done to perfection by the then-kind-of-unknown Bale, and things haven’t been the same since. It’s not easy to pull off a character that has the looks, charm, is a good actor, and a little bit of a freak.
And maybe that was the reason the studio back then wasn’t too keen on casting Bale in the lead role. But to their pleasant surprise, the actor gave a performance worthy of being written in the pages of cinematic history.

Daniel Radcliffe has carved a great career outside of his Harry Potter fame. He has become an exciting actor to watch on screen dabbling into various genres that challenge him as an actor. He can be a charming lead in films such as What If, while also committing to darker and edgy roles in films such as Swiss Army Man, Imperium, and Jungle, among others.

He also ventured into TV, starring in the anthology comedy series Miracle Workers. He starred alongside Geraldine Viswanathan, where they played different characters in each season. I have a confession to make: For much of my teenage years, I identified as what can only be described as a Sasquatch truther. I was radicalized by that infamous Zapruder-like footage of a supposed Bigfoot out for a casual stroll in 1967 and attempted to chase that high ever since. I loved watching all those goofball Discovery Channel specials where supposedly reputable people trekked into the forests of the Pacific Northwest, set up cameras in areas rumored to host a high number of Bigfoot sightings, knocked pieces of wood together to attract the big guy (or gal!), and just waited around for the urban legend to just, I don't know, show itself. The aughts were a strange and confusing time, folks.
All of that is to say that this movie we're about to talk about just might be the very definition of "Up my alley." After making waves during its...

Though it’s based on a 2005 movie of the same name, Prime Video’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith is something that’s increasingly rare these days: an honest-to-goodness TV show. The Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane-created spy thriller understands the required rhythms of its medium very well. Each episode presents a self-contained chapter within the dangerous marriage of John (Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine) while also subtly forwarding their overall story.
The commitment to the usual TV format also means that Mr. and Mrs. Smith gets to introduce one hell of a roster of guest stars. Save for its finale, every episode of this show features at least one stupendously talented and famous guest star. If you’re wondering who each of these guest stars are or where you’ve previously seen them: don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. What follows is a list of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith cast,...

One of the biggest challenges of the Sundance Film Festival is trying to fit it all in and be everywhere all at once in Park City. On Sunday morning at The Park, a group of festival insiders stayed in one place for about two hours to take in a keynote from Everything Everywhere All at Once’s Oscar-winning producer Jonathan Wang and witness two producers being singled out with awards and $10,000 grants.
It all went down as part of a producers award collaboration between the Sundance Institute and Amazon MGM Studios. The prizes — one for fiction, one for nonfiction — were awarded to producers Brad Becker-Parton of Stress Positions and Toni Kamau of The Battle for Laikipia, two films that premiered in this year’s lineup.
Becker-Parton’s other credits include Tina Satter’s Reality, starring Sydney Sweeney, and Mariama Diallo’s Master, starring Regina Hall, a Sundance selection released by...

The film world is mourning the dissolution of one of indie cinema’s most fascinating auteurist pairs, Benny and Josh Safdie, colloquially known as the Safdie Brothers (“Uncut Gems”). It may be more of a break than a break up, but for the time being, the “Good Time” guys are going solo.
“It’s a natural progression of what we each want to explore,” Benny Safdie recently told Variety of the split from his brother, dispelling rumors that the breakup was anything but brotherly. “I will direct on my own, and I will explore things that I want to explore. I want that freedom right now in my life.”
He’s left the door open for a reunion; perhaps it will come on the Safdies’ (the duo) previously announced project with Adam Sandler and Megan Thee Stallion. It’s not dead, Benny said, just “on pause.”

A little over a decade ago, actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint stood on a train platform, with questionable “middle age” makeup applied, and waved goodbye. Their characters were saying goodbye to their onscreen kids, but they were really waving farewell to millions of moviegoers and readers who grew up with their versions of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. In a way, the actors were also bidding adieu to their onscreen characters.
Admittedly a decade is not a super long time (though it’s a lifetime as far as media company CEOs anxious to exploit IP are concerned). Yet in these past 10 years, we’ve watched thespians we once knew as children mature into grown-up working actors, and some of the favorites who played their teachers and mentors go on to win Oscars and greater acclaim. Below are some of the best roles the Harry Potter cast has achieved since graduating from Hogwarts.

The creative team behind Sony’s David-and-Goliath comedy “Dumb Money” drew parallels between the battle between Reddit investors and Wall Street tycoons over the GameStop stock and the actors and writers strikes that are roiling Hollywood.

It’s rigged on Wall Street, and it’s rigged in Hollywood,” said Lauren Schuker Blum, who co-wrote the screenplay to “Dumb Money” with Rebecca Angelo, at the Toronto Film Festival premiere on Friday night. “We’re proud to be part of a union that’s fighting for transparency.”

Just two years after winning a Best TV Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actor Emmy for “Mare of Easttown,” Evan Peters currently has a strong shot at conquering the corresponding lead category as the star of “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” By succeeding on this outing, he would not only maintain his perfect acting Emmys record, but would also follow Ed Flanders as the second recipient of both possible limited program performance prizes.
Given the overall strength of this year’s Best TV Movie/Limited Series Actor lineup, Peters’s potential win won’t come easily, if at all. The only other previous Emmy nominee in the mix is Kumail Nanjiani (“Welcome to Chippendales”), with most of the slots being filled by well-known first-timers Taron Egerton (“Black Bird”), Daniel Radcliffe (“Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”), Michael Shannon (“George & Tammy”), and Steven Yeun (“Beef”).

You've seen A24 films about somewhat literal man-eating aliens ("Under the Skin"), people being turned into walruses ("Tusk"), farting corpses ("Swiss Army Man"), talking shells ("Marcel the Shell with Shoes On"), and the multiverse ("Everything Everywhere All at Once"). Now, the studio is trying its hand at a musical for the first time with "Dicks: The Musical," a film that, contrary to my expectations the first time I saw that title, is not about singing penises. I mean, A24 only just made a film featuring a giant penis monster, so it wasn't out of the question.
Backing up -- "Dicks: The Musical" comes from relative newcomers Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, who both wrote the film -- which is based on their original two-person stage musical "F***ing Identical Twins" -- and star as a pair of obnoxious business bros who find out they're literal twins and conspire to get their divorced parents back together.

At a time in Hollywood’s history when reprising career-defining roles is all the rage, Harry Potter franchise star Daniel Radcliffe says he has no interest in returning to the Wizarding World for Max‘s forthcoming Harry Potter TV series. The series is said to be a 10-year endeavor featuring an all-new cast for an in-depth exploration of the fantasy novel series created by J.K. Rowling. Sources close to the project say it could be years before the show premieres, with a 2025/2026 window being likely.
Despite being proud of his years as Harry Potter, Radcliffe has worked very hard to separate himself from the role in the years since the conclusion of the original film series. After playing the “Boy That Lived,” Radcliffe redefined his Hollywood status with unique roles in films like Guns Akimbo, Swiss Army Man, The Woman in Black, Victor Frankenstein, and The Lost City. “My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere,” Radcliffe stated. “So, I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it...

Daniel Radcliffe isn’t eager to step back into the Wizarding World. In a recent interview, the actor said he isn’t “seeking” a cameo appearance in the upcoming TV show reboot of the “Harry Potter” franchise.
First announced in April, the upcoming “Harry Potter” series for Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max streamer will adapt all seven books in J.K. Rowling’s popular series of children’s fantasy novels. The series will be the second screen adaptation of the popular books, following the Warner Bros.’ original “Harry Potter” film series, which shot Radcliffe to international fame when he was only 11 years old.
In an interview with Comic Book.com published Monday, Radcliffe said he understands the new adaptation will be their own interpretation, and that he believes his presence will be a distraction from the new actor playing the title character.

When we meet Ben Grady (Grant Rosenmeyer), he can barely lift himself out of the living room chair. By the end of this lo-fi indie drama, he’s soaring among the clouds like some kind of schlubby superhero — or one of those kids from “Chronicle” — having mastered what “The Secret Art of Human Flight” calls … well, you heard the title. Maybe not “mastered” exactly, but Ben’s finally getting the hang of it, and that’s exhilarating, since flying couldn’t be farther from the state we found him in earlier, wallowing in melancholy after the unexpected death of his wife Sarah (Reina Hardesty).
As presented by director H.P. Mendoza, Ben and Sarah were practically the cutest couple you could imagine. They published children’s books together and made video diaries for their followers on TikTok, which Ben insisted they turn into a kind of insurance policy so that each...

“Everything, Everywhere All At Once” director Daniel Kwan has addressed reports that he and Daniel Scheinert guest-directed one episode of the “Star Wars” series “Skeleton Crew” at Disney+.
“Don’t worry. We aren’t working on a whole series, we guest directed one episode,” Kwan wrote in an Instagram story. “Jon Watts approached us to do an episode awhile ago. (Before Eeaao even came out). We love Jon, we love Star Wars, we love learning new tech, we love meeting new cast and crew, and we needed the days to keep our healthcare (!!!) so it was an easy yes. We shot it last year and had an incredible time working with the most talented cast and crew and I’m excited for you all to see it.”
“Our next film will be an original daniels project so you can stop worrying (and stop bothering me about it),” he added.

If “Swiss Army Man” was the film that established Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Aka The Daniels) as two interesting voices to watch, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was the movie that catapulted them into the stratosphere. Their genre-bending multiverse saga was one of the unlikeliest awards juggernauts ever, sweeping the Oscars nearly a year after the film’s SXSW premiere.
After writing and directing two feature films as a duo, The Daniels’ creative aesthetic is fairly well-defined. The two filmmakers love using unapologetically weird premises to tell wholesome stories, and pull from a variety of influences including classic comedies, kung fu movies, and 2010s Internet culture. All of their work contains layers upon layers of explicit and implicit references to movies and TV shows that came before them. Simply put, you don’t make movies like “Everything Everywhere All at Once” without being obsessed with pop culture. And Daniel...

The Oscar-winning writing-directing unit of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, whimsically known as Daniels, have yet to trade in their golden chit and announce their next project. But with 2022’s juggernaut “Everything Everywhere All At Once” winning Best Picture, Best Director(s), Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress (for Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actress (for Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Supporting Actor (for Ke Huy Quan), and Best Editing (for Paul Rogers), plus four additional nominations, on top of being A24’s most successful outing at the box office with a $107 million worldwide gross, you can imagine the sky’s the limit for these two.
Wisely looking to alleviate some of the “what’s next??!” pressure, the pair already have their next credit in the pipeline, at least according to the trades. Similar to a recording artist following up their career-making hit album with “a live one,” Daniels has (have?) already completed...

“Everything Everywhere All At” directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, best known as the Daniels, directed an episode “Star Wars” series “Skeleton Crew” at Disney+, according to media reports.
The upcoming “Star Wars” series stars Jude Law.
The duo directed just one episode of the show, according to One Take News, which first reported the story. It is not known if they had any other involvement in the series, nor are the show’s other directors known.
The series, which Lucasfilm announced at the May 2022 Star Wars Celebration, will be set during the New Republic era and will center on the perilous journey home for a group of children lost in the galaxy. Though further details are being kept under wraps, it has been reported that the series could be likened to Amblin’s coming-of-age films from the 1980s, including “E.T.” and “The Goonies.”

The Daniels are already in the universe where they’re Oscar winners – now they’re journeying to the “Star Wars” galaxy. The “Everything Everywhere All at Once” filmmakers have directed at least one episode of the upcoming “Star Wars” Disney+ series “Skeleton Crew,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The news comes after the series, which began production in September, reportedly wrapped filming in late January. The show, which was developed by “Spider-Man: No Way Home” director Jon Watts and Christopher Ford for Disney+, has kept details about its production tightly under wraps; the only cast member announced so far is Jude Law, and no other directors or writers on the show have been disclosed.
IndieWire has reached out to Lucasfilm, which said there was “no additional info to share at this point.”
It’s unclear how many episodes of “Skeleton Crew” the Daniels — or Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — have directed from the show.

Go figure: The ugliest Oscars ceremony ever was followed a year later by perhaps the warmest celebration ever.
The 95th edition — which was held Sunday night, at a perilous moment for the motion picture industry and the Academy, the latter now under the new management team of CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang — was dominated by Everything Everywhere All at Once, a film that certainly isn’t for everyone, but apparently is for enough of the 10,000 members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to prevail over formidable competition on the preferential (read: weighted/ranked-choice) ballot that the organization uses to determine its best picture.

As the Oscars came to a close, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded its top prize to the longtime frontrunner — yet one of the unlikeliest winners in years — when “Everything Everywhere All at Once” took home Best Picture.
The film beat out “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Elvis,” “The Fabelmans,” “TÁR,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Triangle of Sadness,” and “Women Talking” for the honor. Its ability to triumph over many more conventionally Oscar-friendly films is a testament to both the film’s quality and the changing nature of the Oscar race. It also won the most Oscars of any Best Picture winner, seven, since 2008’s “Slumdog Millionaire” won eight, and the most Oscars of any film full-stop since 2013’s “Gravity” also won seven.

The Academy clearly believes Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are everything, everywhere. The directing team (popularly known as the Daniels) won the Best Director Oscar at the 95th Academy Award ceremony for their work on Best Picture nominee “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” The duo took to the stage at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre on Sunday night to celebrate the win.
Kwan and Scheinert beat out plenty of other acclaimed filmmakers to claim the trophy, including Todd Field for his comeback film “Tár,” Irish director Martin McDonagh for “The Banshees of Inisherin,” two-time Palme d’Or honoree Ruben Östlund for “Triangle of Sadness,” and two-time Best Director winner Steven Spielberg for his semi-autobiographical feature “The Fabelmans.”

After premiering to rave reviews at the South by Southwest film festival and striking gold at the indie box office, the film is now nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Picture.

On March 11, 2022, exactly one year and one day before the 95th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, a supercharged and wacky movie called “Everything Everywhere All at Once” premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival. The second feature from a pair of music-video directors whose first film, “Swiss Army Man,” was mostly known as the flick in which Daniel Radcliffe played a farting corpse, it was an ideal SXSW movie, a chaotic genre mishmash that, in the words of Wrap reviewer Robert Abele, “swirls sci-fi, metaphysics, martial arts, slapstick, star power, and pop culture shout-outs into the type of experience that one can imagine the late exhibition gimmick impresario William Castle — he who notoriously wired theater seats so they buzzed — responding with, ‘Yeah, this doesn’t need my help.’”

Chicago – It’s Oscar Week, as the 95th Academy Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, March 12th, 2023, on ABC-tv. Thirteen years into their filmmaking partnership and seven years after making their feature debut with the Sundance Film Festival Award-winning “Swiss Army Man,” Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are now Oscar nominees thanks to their hit sophomore film, “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” The sci-fi comedy leads the pack this year in terms of Oscar bids, with a total of 11 including three for the Daniels’ writing, directing and producing work. If the duo are honored in Best Director, it would make for the third such instance in the category’s history, following the victories of Jerome Robbins and Robert Wise and Ethan Coen and Joel Coen.

Almost exactly one year ago, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” premiered at SXSW. The sophomore feature from the two-headed directorial entity known as Daniels — aka Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — had plenty of hype going into the festival, as the GenX filmmaker had already garnered a decade of fans for their music video work, with bonus points for the silly-sweet gamble of their 2016 feature debut “Swiss Army Man.” Yet even the visionary concept of an island castaway riding a farting corpse to freedom couldn’t have prepared audiences for the cultural phenomenon to come.
“Everything Everywhere All at Once” was an instant sensation with almost as many layers as the multiverses strewn across in its plot. It’s an innovative and hilarious sci-fi comedy about the messiness of modern life, a touching exploration of intergenerational Asian American identity, and a rousing showcase for Asian actors long under-appreciated by the industry.

As soon as “Everything Everywhere All at Once” became this year’s Oscar nominations leader with 11 bids in 10 categories, pundits began pointing to the unfortunate fact that only one-third of 21st century films that got the most nominations have actually gone on to win Best Picture. However, the prospect of it becoming the first entrant on that list since 2017’s “The Shape of Water” has been increasingly bolstered by outpourings of industry support, most notably in the form of a record-breaking four SAG Award wins. Along with its crucial victories at this year’s PGA and DGA Awards, it appears primed to defy the historic odds.

The Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) were the big winners at last night's Directors Guild of America's DGA Awards. The filmmaking duo took home the top prize, Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Theatrical Feature Film, for "Everything Everywhere All At Once" — beating out directing legend Steven Spielberg ("The Fabelmans"), as well as Joseph Kosinski's massive aerial action film "Maverick," Todd Field's critical darling "Tár," and Martin McDonagh's black comedy "The Banshees of Inisherin."
These days, the Daniels seem to embody their hit film, being everything, everywhere, all at once. The Michelle Yeoh-led maximalist action-comedy has something for everyone, and is deeply, satisfyingly, weird. It topped many best-of lists (it was my #1 pick for Best Films of 2022) and is a favorite to take home the Academy Award for Best Picture. Now with a DGA Award under their belts, the odds of that happening are better than ever.

It’s old school versus new school for best director at the DGA Awards.
Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical “The Fabelmans” is the culmination of more than 50 years of moviemaking. Then there’s the visionary whimsy of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the duo behind the sci-fi comedy “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” The veteran and the newcomers are the front-runners to win the top prize at the DGA ceremony, which take place on Feb. 18.
Which picture will prevail among the guild’s 19,000 members? One camp esteems a long and storied career; the other points to a cinematic future that will look different but be just as enjoyable.
The Daniels and Spielberg are joined in competition by three other dynamic directors — Todd Field (“Tár”), Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”) and Martin McDonagh (“The Banshees of Inisherin”). But pending a stunning upset, the latter aren’t expected to be serious challengers.

Every year, I get a kick out of interviewing the Oscar-nominated screenwriters at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. This year’s panel was intimidating: In addition to their awards-season laurels, they included a Nobel Prize winner (Kazuo Ishiguro), a Pulitzer Prize winner (Tony Kushner) and a professional triathlete (Lesley Paterson). It was also a lot of fun.
Here’s a few highlights of what I gleaned from these brilliant writers.
1. Todd Field relies on his visions.
He first imagined Lydia Tar 10 years ago, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that he realized that she was the conductor of a major European orchestra. “She was sitting on top of a power structure,” he said. “She could’ve been sitting atop anything. She kept bothering me, and she wouldn’t go away.”
Field tries to avoid writing for a specific actor, but Blanchett kept appearing to him after they met on another possible project.
