- Zac has a problem. He suffers from 'cyberchondria' - he contracts every disease he ever reads about online. His long-suffering girlfriend Jan has had enough. But that's not his only problem. Something is growing in his garden... and it's growing fast! Is it just a cute little plant, or could it be the harbinger of something more sinister? Can Zac and his trusty canine companion Rip, nip it in the bud before it's too late, or will they be pushing up daisies before it's through?—Anonymous
- Zac's mother (Henrietta Stathopoulos) scolds him for playing in a yucky pool, and asks him if he has any idea how many diseases there are waiting to infect him.
37 years later, Zac's (Nick Stathopoulos) girlfriend, Janette (Catriona Sparks), tells him he has "cyberchondria" and leaves him alone until he gets over it like she got over her diseases.
That night, a strange plant, presumably a Venus flytrap, falls to Earth and crashes in Zac's garden. The next morning, Zac and his canine, Ripley, investigate the garden and find nothing at first. Inside, Zac receives a call about what the object might have been; Zac denies it, though he doesn't know what it is either. As he looks outside, a similar flytrap grows.
The next day, as Zac is watering his plants, Rip catches sight of the flytrap that grew. Zac takes a look at it, and attempts to remove it with a pitchfork, only for the plant to bite his finger. His hand starts turning green, and he hears Janette tell him he has a disease. This turns out to be a nightmare he was having, and he has another one in which leaves surround him and there is a roar.
The next morning, while listening to a report on the radio, Zac remembers Janette reminding him that the cleansers he was looking at are poisoned, so he throws them out, while listening to a follow up about what crashed in his garden.
Zac goes outside with a different tool to remove the plant in his garden with. From the broken concrete hole, a vine emerges and almost grabs him until he removes the plant from its spot, causing the vine to retreat.
As Zac is about to take Rip for a walk, he sees another plant, and finds that the first one had grown back. Curious, he snaps a picture, and sees that Rip has brought another one that is dead.
Zac visits Beric (Jaimie Leonarder) and his assistant (Greg Kaplan), who both doubt it's a plant, though Zac explains that it is due to its qualities. He is then informed that the plant can see the way an insect can, though the vision seems poor.
Meanwhile, back at Zac's house, Rip sees the plant in the hole grow and it pops out of the area. Though it's a plant, it has human qualities, it has hands and feet. It chases Rip and eats her alive.
Zac returns home and, after hearing a message from Janette on the phone, goes outside to look for Rip. The first thing he sees is a pile of mud, heating up in the sun with a toasty smell. Zac digs through the mud with a hook to try and pry Rip out, thinking she got stuck in it while rolling in the dirt during his absence, but all he finds is her collar and her skull head. Before he knows what is happening, the plant approaches him, causing him to realize that it's responsible for Rip's disappearance. He flees the plant by running into the house and locking the door. He tries to go out the other way and sees two mormons (Chris Hawkshaw and Adrian Robinson). He rushes back in and tries to call for help. However, the plant bursts in through the floor and chases him. Suddenly taking notice of the bag full of cleansers and remembering Janette saying they're poisoned, he throws it into the plant's mouth; it swallows it whole, lunges one final time at Zac, and seemingly devours him.
Janette comes into the house and finds the dead plant, but no sign of Zac. Luckily, however, Zac, having survived the final battle, emerges from his hiding place, revealing he's alive, and they happily embrace.
5 years later, Zac and Janette are married, and have a son (Alexander Wright). The new family is on a mission to stop all look alike plants from harming them, and other people. One of them, that looks like the one Zac fought, comes towards the camera.
