With Jon Stewart in Los Angeles this weekend for the Netflix Is a Joke Festival, The Daily Show is switching things up next week.
Instead of hosting the show Monday evening, as he has since returning to the show in February, Stewart will host on Thursday instead.
Jordan Klepper will be at the desk in place Stewart Monday night and will host through Wednesday.
Stewart is set to play L.A.’s Greek Theatre Friday night for a night of standup under the stars that’s being billed as “Jon Stewart and Friends.”
He’s also on the guest list for John Mulaney’s “Everybody’s in L.A.” miniseries, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up sitting down with another semi-retired Late Nighter as a series of comedy legends are expected to participate in a show Netflix is calling “Gods of Comedy With David Letterman.”

Nick Offerman plays the role of the President of the United States in Alex Garland’s latest dystopian war film, Civil War. He does a fantastic job of bringing out the character of a directorial president who is currently in his third term. While the film has been receiving positive feedback from critics, fans are finding it difficult to wrap their heads around the lack of political discussion in the film.
A still from Alex Garland’s Civil War
This is simply because Civil War revolves around such a political topic which makes the absence of any real conversation about the same a little unrealistic. However, this is exactly what Nick Offerman loves about the film, and states that it is his absolute favorite thing in the entire movie.

Stellar Blade will be out later this month for the PlayStation 5 console. It is being developed by Shift Up, a Korean studio, and is being directed by Kim Hyung-tae. Together, Kim and his team have really crafted an incredible experience that fans have not gotten for years on the PlayStation console. This has led to Stellar Blade enjoying a massive fan following.
Some say this fan following is because its main character looks way too good. Others suggest it is popular for its incredibly designed gameplay mechanics. Whatever the reason might be, this game looks out of this world without a doubt. Besides defeating numerous enemies through it, players can unlock a bunch of cosmetics for protagonist Eve. We've so far been used to former President Barack Obama's Higher Ground production company putting out high-minded and compelling documentaries. With new series Bodkin, though, which stars Will Forte, it appears that it is now heading into Only Murders In The Building territory (spliced here with Ballykissangel?), blending true-crime podcasting with comedy. Check out the first trailer:
Forte here is Gilbert, a charming, open, and enthusiastic podcaster from the States who has family roots that stretch back to Ireland and he's looking to discover his roots. But he gets more than he bargained for when he teams up with Dove (Siobhán Cullen), a hard-nosed investigative journalist from Dublin who has a fine-tuned bullshit detector and a healthy disdain for authority and hypocrisy. Then there's Emmy (Robyn Cara), a bright, funny and eager to please researcher who has been helping Gilbert with the podcast.

Making a place for himself among critically acclaimed directors like Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese, Denis Villeneuve has turned himself into an extraordinary icon following his take on Dune. While previously the novels were considered “unadaptable” following David Lynch and Alejandro Jodorowsky’s failed attempts, Villeneuve proved his capabilities with his sequels.

Justin Hartley certainly has a proven track record when it comes to post-Super Bowl dramas.
In an often-uneven linear landscape, the This Is Us alum’s new CBS series Tracker scored a very solid 18.4 million viewers in its debut after the network’s Super Bowl coverage Sunday. That’s the best premiere of any series on any network since … well, the last time the still Shari Redstone-owned network had the Super Bowl in 2021 and Queen Latifah’s The Equalizer hit the small screen.
The hip hop legend’s still-running crime procedural had a viewership of 20.4 million on February 7, 2021.
As for the crime-solving Hartley show based on Jeffrey Deaver’s 2019 book The Never Game, there could be more eyeballs coming once viewers on Paramount+, CBS.com and the CBS app are factored in over the coming days. As it is, CBS is predicting the Tracker debut will top out at around 25 million viewers.

With the release of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ Dceu was finally retired and Gunn’s and Safran’s Dcu took over. We’ve known for a year up to this point that Dcu will closely follow the example set by the MCU and that the cinematic universe will consist of several phases or rather “chapters.” The first such chapter in the Dcu was announced to be ‘Gods & Monsters.’ The first project released as a part of ‘Gods & Monsters’ will be ‘Creature Commandos’ but Gunn already stated that ‘Superman: Legacy’ will be the unofficial start of the new Dcu.
Now, one notable project will be transferred from Dceu into the newly established Dcu, and that’s ‘Peacemaker.’ ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 was already confirmed to be in development when Gunn clarified that the show will be canon to the Dcu and that he will make it work in a way that...

Anyone experiencing deja vu on Monday afternoon is far from alone; less than 24 hours ago, stars gathered on another red carpet for the 29th Critics Choice Awards, but this time, the spotlight is squarely on Hollywood’s television industry as arrivals get underway for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A. That means another opportunity for the Succession, Barry and Ted Lasso casts to take their final bow, while The White Lotus, Beef, The Last of Us and The Bear are among the odds-on favorites among continuing shows anticipated to earn trophies. The night’s style stars, meanwhile, should include everyone from Jessica Chastain (a best actress nominee for George & Tammy) and The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach to Succession‘s Jeremy Strong and Wednesday‘s Jenna Ortega. Better yet: Which high-wattage fashion stars will score back-to-back style wins? The Crown‘s Elizabeth Debicki,...

I ruled out half the nominees immediately, but this is still the strongest single category in the history of the Emmys and I agonized over the other four. I had zero interest in The Crown — I watched the first season because my wife asked me to, then I was done. You couldn’t pay me to watch House of the Dragon — I was a Game of Thrones person, but I watched 10 minutes of this and read the reviews and it just seemed like a money grab. I devoured the first season of Yellowjackets, but it jumped the shark in season two. I love Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks, but there have been better seasons of Better Call Saul. I loved The White Lotus — not as much as its first season, but still, Mike White is the best argument for why writers should be allowed to have a writers room of one.

January Box Office Openers: Will Katrina Kaif’s Merry Christmas Break The Dreaded January Jinx(Photo Credit –IMDb/Instagram)
Bollywood seemed to have followed a strange pattern for the release dates of films in December and January. While there is a constant battle to grab the spot for the last release of the year, there is an eerie silence to occupy the dates for opening a year. Usually, no big release is excited to open the year or become the first film to release in January. Ever wondered why?
January seems to be a little jinxed for films that open the year at the box office. Not that we believe in such stuff, but the data provided says otherwise. In the last 15 years, every first film of the year that has been released at the box office has met a disastrous fate.

Celebrated singer-songwriter Sampha picked Steve Lacy’s hit “Bad Habit” for his customary cover during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
Sampha delivered a pared-back, practically delicate rendition of the song. Instead of the original’s thumping drum beat, Sampha used only a spare, skittering percussion track which provided a steely counterweight to the tender thrum of his piano and vocals.
Along with his rendition of “Bad Habit,” Sampha also performed his own song, “Only,” off of his recent LP, Lahai. The LP, released last week on Oct.

There’s only one movie left to be released before Dceu is rebooted into the newly established Dcu, and it’s one of the most anticipated DC movies ever since it was announced, ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.’ The first ‘Aquaman’ was a massive success both when it comes to critics and box office, but as Dceu was losing its steam lining up failed projects, the interest for ‘Aquaman 2’ somewhat dwindled.
What’s worse is that the movie received almost no marketing at all due to the SAG-AFTRA strike that prohibited the actors from promoting the movie. It was also plagued with the fact that Amber Heard kept her role as Mera following the meltdown of her very public and very uncomfortable trial with former spouse Johnny Depp. A similar situation was seen in the ‘Flash’ movie after Ezra Miller was allowed to keep his role as the titular character.

Fox News broke things down from on the ground in Israel Wednesday, with reporter Trey Yingst predicting the conflict with Hamas would spill into a wider regional war.
Yingst appeared during a lengthy segment that included his stand-up dispatch from the side of a busy highway in the dark of night.
He told “Outnumbered” host Kayleigh McEnany there was a bigger picture brewing in the Middle East after a punctuated period in which, as McEnany described, “you have this ominous warning from Iran about, ‘Time is up.’ You have these kamikaze drones over Al-Asad air base in Iraq. Alec spends a good amount of this week’s The Irrational sniffing around not only figuratively, but literally: After all, if strong scents can evoke memory, maybe reminding his nostrils about the night of his bombing will lead his brain back there, too?
Meanwhile, the Case of the Week involves a journalist who’s been poisoned with a substance more commonly used to off Russian spies. And rather than go to the police, or the FBI, or the CIA, or literally any other established law-enforcement organization, the reporter in question thinks Alec is her best bet at solving the mystery.

Artificial Intelligence is a big sticking point in the current Hollywood strikes. Author and actor Stephen Fry understands why, as he’s been victimized by an AI version of his voice being used in a documentary without his participation.
Speaking at the CogX Festival in London on Thursday, Fry played a clip of an AI system mimicking his voice to narrate a historical documentary.
“I said not one word of that—it was a machine. Yes, it shocked me,” he said. “They used my reading of the seven volumes of the Harry Potter books, and from that dataset an AI of my voice was created and it made that new narration.”
Fry was the narrator on the Harry Potter books in the UK.
“What you heard was not the result of a mash up, this is from a flexible artificial voice, where the words are modulated to fit the meaning of each sentence,...

"Only Murders in the Building" season 3 has a few songs in its heart. A musical theatre aficionado will have a ball with season 3 of "Only Murders in the Building," thanks to Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) converting his outlandish murder-mystery play "Death Rattle" into a musical.
While the trio are solving yet another murder, this season is brimming with musical references. In season 3, episode 2, a recuperating Putnam hallucinates his loved ones performing a pastiche of "There'll Be Some Changes Made" from the Bob Fosse-directed "All That Jazz." It's a cutting reference because said musical film, especially this particular number, metatextually tackles the director's heart attack. It deals with mortal self-flagellation, both for Fosse and in-universe for Fosse's fictional avatar.
In contrast, the show also applies a more lighthearted reference to "The Producers" that complements Oliver's pursuits. After a falling out with his friend Charles Haden-Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver needs a replacement for the Investigator.
