  Rick Grimes : [Rick holds Pete on the street pavement in front of the community members as Deanna comes running up]  Stop it! Stop it right now.

  Rick Grimes : [Rick pulls out his revolver and aims it into the crowd of community members]  Or what? You gonna kick me out?

  Rick Grimes : [Sasha snipes walkers out from the tower as Rick's group and the community members watch Rick]  We know what needs to be done and we do it. We're the ones who live. You, you just sit and plan and hesitate. You pretend like you know when you don't. You wish things weren't what they are. Well, you want to live? You want this place to stay standing? Your way of doing things is done. Things don't get better because you - You want them to. Starting right now, we have to live in the real world. We have to control who lives here.

  Deanna Monroe : [Deanna responds to Rick looking down at him on his knees covered in blood]  That's never been more clear to me than it is right now.

  Rick Grimes : Me? Me? You...

  Rick Grimes : [Rick laughs holding his hands up to himself]  You mean - You mean me? Your way is gonna destroy this place. It's gonna get people killed. It's already gotten people killed. I'm not gonna stand by and just let it happen. If you don't fight, you die. I'm not gonna stand by and...

  [Michonne knocks Rick unconscious by hitting him over the head] 

• [Rick talks to Deanna about handling Pete from beating his wife] 

  Deanna Monroe : Pete's a surgeon. He's saved lives. He might be saving Tara's life.

  Rick Grimes : He's beating his wife. We have to stop him.

  Deanna Monroe : How?

  Rick Grimes : We separate them. We tell him that's how it'll be from now on.

  Deanna Monroe : What happens when he doesn't want to do that?

  Rick Grimes : It's not his choice.

  Deanna Monroe : So what happens?

  Rick Grimes : [Rick pauses]  I kill him. We kill him.

  Deanna Monroe : We don't kill people. This is civilization, Rick.

  Rick Grimes : Warning someone to stop or die, that is civilized nowadays.

  Deanna Monroe : [Deanna makes a disbelief face]  Oh.

  Rick Grimes : So what? So we just let him hit her? We let him kill her?

  Deanna Monroe : No, we exile him if it comes to that.

  Rick Grimes : We do that, we don't know when he comes back or what he does to them. Letting him go makes this place vulnerable. You really want to wait till someone in that tower has to take care of it? And that's if we're lucky.

  Deanna Monroe : We are not... executing anyone. Don't ever suggest it again. That sort of thinking doesn't belong in here.

  Rick Grimes : People die now, Deanna. They do. There's times like this you can decide who and when. Or it can be decided for you.

  Deanna Monroe : It already was. I wouldn't kill you. I'd just send you away.

  [Deanna walks away] 

• [the camera cuts back and forth to Nicholas and Glenn telling their different stories of what happened with the loss of Aiden and Noah out on the run] 

  Nicholas : [Nicholas talks into Deanna's video recorder]  Aiden was trying to save us from a roamer, shooting at it. Then Glenn distracted him.

  Glenn Rhee : [Glenn talks to Rick out on Rick's porch]  I saw the grenades. I tried to stop him.

  Nicholas : They just wanted to go, I didn't.

  Glenn Rhee : He was gonna run.

  Nicholas : I wasn't gonna leave.

  Deanna Monroe : What about Tara?

  Nicholas : I wasn't gonna leave her.

  Glenn Rhee : But we made him stay. Couldn't get Aiden out of there without help.

  Nicholas : Then when we got into the lobby...

  Glenn Rhee : All he had to do was hold the door.

  Nicholas : ...He was hitting on the glass, pushing my door open. They were gonna kill me.

  Glenn Rhee : But he panicked.

  Nicholas : Or they were trying to. Or they just didn't care.

  Glenn Rhee : Noah, I had him. I had his hand.

  Nicholas : And if I didn't push back, I'd be dead, too.

  Glenn Rhee : I tried. I watched him die.

  Nicholas : They did this. It was them.

  Deanna Monroe : But you all came back together. How did that happen?

  Spencer Monroe : Mom, what are you doing?

  Deanna Monroe : I need it for later. We have to do this now. No guns. No going outside the walls. The same goes for Glenn until I finish looking into this.

  Nicholas : What do you need to look into? I'm telling you how it went down. These people have to go. They are not like us. I know you see it, too.

  Deanna Monroe : You don't know what I see, Nicholas. And I see a great deal.

  [Deanna stops watching the video recording of Nicholas as Glenn stops telling his story to Rick]
