Directed by Joshua Rofé and executive produced by James Gray, the documentary focuses on Kennedy's struggle to cope with his childhood trauma, especially as he keeps his secret in the hyper-masculine world of profession hockey. Of the film, Gray says, "'Swift Current' depicts the devastating impact of sexual abuse in a way no film that I’ve seen has before. The film was also produced by Regina Scully and Geralyn White Dreyfous ("The Invisible War"), along with two-time Academy Award-winning.
