A Lynchian Short
gavin69422 February 2015
When a man (David Steiger) suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder has his malicious personality surgically removed, he is forced to face the reality of his condition.

Clearly, writer-director Daniel DelPurgatorio (who has a great name) was influenced by David Lynch with the non-linear, dreamlike filming. And certainly David Cronenberg to some extent for the "body horror". And yet, this remains all his own.

The strong points are two: the casting of Aaron Christensen as the doctor, who does such a fine job in this role. And the impressive medical setup. Where were these props acquired? Very believable, which is hard to do.

And yet, something seems missing. There is still something of a low budget feel, and it is a bit of a turnoff. The plot will also likely scare many viewers off. No clear answers can be found within the 18 minutes of screen time, and perhaps no two viewers might interpret the film the same. Then again, this might be its strong point.
