This is a series that didn't need one sequel let alone 5, but if you have seen the others then you might at well watch this one.
cosmo_tiger15 October 2014
"I want to meet these people and find out what I'm all about." Danny (Iloot) has just found out that that he has inherited a mysterious resort in West Virginia. Him and his friends decide to take the trip to see what he has. When they arrive they meet Jackson and Sally (Katz) who claim to be his relatives. What starts out as an exciting new adventure take a deadly turn when family secrets are revealed. So...what can I say about Wrong Turn 6? If you have seen the others then you will know what to expect from this. There is a lot of gore and cannibalism. So if that is your thing then you will love this. When most horror franchises get into the 5th and 6th movies they turn more comedic. This one hasn't done that yet, I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. What I do know is that this is a series that didn't need one sequel let alone 5. Overall, if you have seen the others then you might at well watch this one. I give this a C-.

Gives a whole new meaning to Colonic Hydrotherapy......
FlashCallahan22 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A sudden inheritance brings Danny and his friends to Hobb Springs, a forgotten resort deep in the West Virginia hills.

The resort, and the it's guests, are being looked after by Jackson and Sally, a socially inept couple who introduce Danny to the long lost family he's never known.

Soon, Danny is forced to choose between his friends and his new found bloodline.....

It's the franchise that just keeps on going, like a rusty old car, and even though the series has been very good on occasion, parts three and four were nearly franchise killers.

Here it's pretty much the same as you'd expect from a straight to DVD horror sequel. We meet our gang of misfits, and instantly begin to guess which ones will get killed first.

When you see that one of the characters is played by someone who was in Emmerdale, it does perk you up a little, because, hey, we never have a slasher in Emmerdale do we? When we get to the hotel, it's pretty much what you would expect, bizarre owners, jump scares, and then finally secret chambers.

For a straight out horror film, on this occasion, there is way too much nudity. Now as a red blooded male, a bit here and there wouldn't usually bother me, but here, it feels way too forced, and the makers are just putting it in for the sake of it.

It's gory for sure, the opening scene is pretty tense and unnerving, but then the kills go from splatter, to down right sick, and one in particular really got to me. I'm giving anything away, but it gets dragged out far too long.

All in all, it's a solid-ish entry into the franchise, but when you go back and watch the original, you realise that the makers have lost there way a little.

But never fear, I'm sure Wrong Turn 7: Going Round in Circles will be out soon

Family huh?
kandnmorgan14 October 2014
I know the Wrong Turn franchise is not for everyone, blood, gore and minimal story telling but it's easy watching horror.

Please believe me I was looking forward to seeing no.6 but sadly it let me down.

I was expecting dodgy acting, very little story telling and mostly lots of squealing laughs from 'Three fingers' the ugly blonde, along with plenty of bloody deaths.

Yes the acting was dodgy, but too much story and not enough bloody deaths.

It left me feeling nothing but bored. Sorry

Not that great...
edie_wojciechowski13 October 2014
A lot of sex and some gore doesn't make this a good movie. You can see clearly that the budget of this one was pretty much the same as part 3, 4 and 5. A lot of unknown and not really great English actors and actress.

I think the story was too much over the top, Declan, the director of the previous three parts, just let the story simple (how the original also was). I love boobs, of course, but the nudity in this one is just too much and adds nothing to the story.

Some special effects are nice, but really nothing more than that. If you like part 3, 4 and 5 you probably like this one too. But not really something for me.

This movie isn't just a waste; it actually hurts!
abuzermasoombutt27 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is by far the most pathetic movie I have watched in a long time!

A guy gets an intimation from some mysterious cousin of his for a hotel he inherited. He visits the place with his friends. OK, makes sense.. what happens next is boring, confusing and not interesting at all.

Acting is pathetic, CGI is funny, the plot doesn't make any sense and there is no character development whatsoever. Thats why the viewers remain indifferent to whoever dies in whatever way, which is a huge failure of the movie above everything.

Then there are a lot of scenes which have nothing to do with the movie at all! I couldn't know why a camera was being focused so much, I have no idea why the deer hunting scene was relevant, I especially have no clue why the old woman had to die if she had nothing to do with anything in the movie.

The funniest thing I found in movie was the promptness with which the main protagonist got on board with its new 'clan/family'. A drink and sex with a weird woman was enough for him to turn on his friends without breaking a sweat. It was this moment I knew I have wasted a good 90 minutes of my life.

I can write a 100 page journal about absurdity of this movie but I will just advise the reader not to watch it unless then are looking for out of place sex scenes and laughably unreal gore! Cheers!

Takes a promising premise and butchers its execution.
lnvicta6 March 2017
The fact that Wrong Turn became a franchise in the first place is baffling, not that I'm complaining. The original was essentially The Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets The Hills Have Eyes, and it was great for what it was, but hardly original enough to warrant the franchise treatment. Then it got an action-packed, direct-to-video sequel featuring Henry Rollins kicking all sorts of inbred cannibal ass, and it was awesome. Then the sequels kept coming and coming; Wrong Turn 4 has some merit in its own trashy sort of way, but 3 and 5 are among the worst "films" ever made. So going into Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort, you know not to expect top shelf cinema. But at the very least, you hope for some camp value, gratuitous nudity, and brutal kills.

Wrong Turn 6 tries something unique to the franchise, though: a psychological angle. It's a story about a guy who inherits a large mansion from an unknown relative, and the mansion turns out to be the home and breeding grounds for the grotesque inbred cannibals we've come to know and love. The psychological aspect comes into play with the mansion's caretakers, distant relatives to the protagonist, and how they gradually lure him away from the reality that he once knew, represented by his oblivious group of friends, and eventually seduce him into their demented family culture. It's quite disturbing actually, and there are plenty of wince-inducing scenes here. The problem is the writing, directing, and acting - the bare necessities for a good film.

The dialogue is horrendous; sadly, not in a so-bad-it's-funny sort of way. Things aren't much better acting-wise. It's not like great actors could have done much with a script like this, but these people are so unconvincing in their performances that the dialogue-driven scenes become downright aggravating to sit through. The sole exception is Sadie Katz as the caretaker Sally, who gives an unsettlingly sensual conviction to her character. She's by far the most alluring part of the film and deserves props for adding some credibility to the otherwise irredeemably bland cast. In regards to the directing, it can feel like you're watching a soft-core porn in one scene and then a graphic, torture-porn ridden snuff film in another. This may be due to the writing, but there's not even an attempt at building suspense. It just transitions from scene to scene with no regard to consistency in tone, pacing, or atmosphere; until finally, the movie ends.

Again, there are admittedly great ideas buried under the disastrous execution. The plot is a nice change of pace for the series, the deaths are gruesome, and the ending is no doubt unnerving. Sadly, Wrong Turn 6 is bereft of production value, and the subject matter is too bleak to be enjoyed in a campy, fun way. It's a dreary exercise in gratuity; from the glorious nudity to the grisly gore, it's all shock and no awe. If you've seen the previous five installments, you might as well watch this one - it's a hell of a lot better than 5. But don't go in hoping for a return to the schlocky entertainment value of 2 or the genuine terror of the original because you sure as hell won't find either in Wrong Turn 6.

Worst of the 6 Parts !!!
aliszlanta17 October 2014
This is the worst part of all the wrong turn parts . This part is all about porn porn porn . I think that the wrong turn series should be put to an end here as it is getting pathetic after each series .

The characters / actors in the movie are completely rubbish , none of them know how to act ... the plot itself is tedious and there is no interest in any scene . I was a huge fan of Wrong urn series but now i will stop watching this crap .... Even the direction of this film is not good ..... There is 1 idiot in the movie who always has a camera with him and by the end of the movie we understand that the guy was as useless as his camera and there is no connection of it in the movie ...

GOOD BYEEE WONGR TURN Series .. You lost a Fan . Ratings = 0/10

better than part 5

Warning: Spoilers
Let me tell you there is a huge fan following for the wrong turn series in Asia.So even if one part disappoints fans are expecting the other part, true wrong turn fans like me would be disappointed if this series is stopped. Wrong Turn 1 and 2 are the best in the series I admit 3 and 4 were 1 notch behind, 5th one was the worst. Coming to part 6,this part has less number of gory scenes like the other parts but this has a good story line and tries to reason things. I liked the acting of the lead actor and loved the climax. This part also has good background score. Additionally this part has some hot scenes which has been shot very well. So If you have watched Wrong Turn till part 5, my advice would be to go ahead and enjoy part 6 , you will surely enjoy the story, music and of- course the highlight of this part the hot scenes.

Where did the storyline go?
Landkrabben15 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A pretty bad movie. Nothing more. I am a big fan of the series, number 1 was my absolute favorite, i like the prequel they started in number 4 but number 5 was weird but still made sense in the "storyline" of the other films. But what the hell is up with this one? It does not make any sense what so ever, it has absolutely nothing to do with the previous movies other than the 3 inbred brothers. It pisses me of, but i hope they are putting more sense to it in the 7th movie and explains what exactly was going on in this one. A random guy who inherit a hotel and is somehow related to the 3 brothers, a small "town" in the middle of the woods with a whole bunch of inbreeds and a weird and creepy brother and sister running the hotel. But where the hell has their dad gone? I was hoping this would tie the prequels together with the original trilogy somehow like the last "final destination" maybe the ending could have been the brothers view from the opening scene at the 1st one with the mountaineering. But no we just get a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with the rest.

Enjoyed it, nice change of pace!
killmissmarsh22 October 2014
With six instalments of the Wrong Turn series, fans already know what they expect with these films; blood, gore, sex, and cannibals.

Wrong Turn 6 delivers exactly what i expected, and a little more. After following the series closely for quite some years, I thought I knew what i was going to get with this film, however they did surprise me. There was a nice change of pace in this film. Unlike previous instalments, they really did their best to establish a good storyline with likable, or fun characters. Previous instalments of the series *Cough* Wrong Turn 5 *Cough* were too focused on gore, whilst the storyline was sidelined somewhat.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about the amount of sex/nudity in this film, and i must admit there's quite a lot, but is that REALLY a bad thing?

The directing in this film was a lot better than the previous instalments, as was the special effects.

The film is let down by the accents somewhat, and some of the acting was questionable. There's no doubt some good performances in this film though, it wasn't unbearable.

Overall, I think this was a good reboot of the Wrong Turn storyline. It managed to keep the gore levels as high as previous instalments, whilst adding an interesting, well thought out storyline. Admittedly, it's a little slower than the others, but I think the change of pace actually made this a much better film than some of the other sequels in the series.

My favourite films in the series: Wrong Turn Wrong Turn 2 Wrong Turn 6 Wrong Turn 4 Wrong Turn 5 Wrong Turn 3

The price of purity
nogodnomasters20 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Danny (Anthony Ilott) unexpectedly inherits the Hobbs Springs Hotel and is eager to meet family he has never know. He takes along with him a group of victims, er ah friends. Seems Danny has been brought back to take over the hotel for the fine young cannibals and to preserve the purity of the blood line to the dismay of his girl friend (Aqueela Zoll).

What's to say? I liked #4 the best especially the opening classical music scene which they have failed to top. This is 80's style slasher, naked girls, kill them in different ways, and eat the body parts. "Fun is the kind of therapy we all need."

The town has a board full of missing people and a puppy. This film sets up for what could be a great sequel if they got some writers.

F-bomb, sex, nudity (Aqueela Zoll, Sadie Katz, Roxanne Pallett, Talitha Luke-Eardley)

Dreadful addition to the series.
coyote4-140-77076722 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The first movie was by no means a masterpiece but it was a decent enough horror movie, but it seems after part 2 the sequels are just getting worser. This series of films should come to an end now,.

6 is easily the worst entry in the series, the story is boring and uninteresting. What happened to Doug Bradleys character from part 5?.

The inbreds themselves are barely in it. This looks more like a fan film, the make up effects look cheap and Saw-tooth and One- eye look identical. This strays away from what made the first one entertaining.

It wont be long now before they make a part 7 which will probably be a found footage movie.

a porn movie for people who are embarrassed to buy a proper dirty film
hugoruneofbrentford13 November 2014
The Wrong Turn series of films has been pretty dreadful for a while now, so I wasn't expecting anything good. However nothing could prepare me for how awful this is in every conceivable way.

The script, acting and direction are all completely amateurish. there are a couple of moments where the film is repulsive but it is never scary, suspenseful or even interesting. The new " twist" to the script seems completely tacked on and takes us far away from the original film. To be honest it feels like a film that was released as part of the wrong turn franchise as some kind of contractual obligation.

To compensate for this the film throws a large amount of pointless nudity at the audience. Fair enough, if that is your thing, but I wanted to watch a horror film and on that level it failed.

PLEASE Let This Be The Final One
dfa12037416 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
So here we have it...the 6th Installment of the Wrong Turn film series, and what an absolute stinker it is. In saying that, though, it's not the worst movie in the series - that title belongs to the dreadful 5th installment, but this 6th film comes pretty damn close to being just as bad.

In this one we have Danny, a young man who has mysteriously inherited a small fortune and a resort by the name of Hobb Springs in West Virginia, and accompanying him are his girlfriend, Toni, and a few of his friends. When they get there, Danny can't really believe his luck, but the more he and his friends look around the property, the more they discover that all is definitely not what it seems.

This has all the elements of a dire horror movie. Exceedingly thin plot? Check. Plenty of nudity? Check. Sub-par acting? Check. If you are looking for those three ingredients for a movie then you will enjoy Wrong Turn 6.

The story & plot of the movie were left wanting because, well, there really wasn't one. I mean I knew not to expect an award-winning story, but I was hoping that it would be better than the 5th. At least the latter part came true...just. The thing is, the story actually takes the series back to where it all started out with the 1st film...into the backwoods of West Virginia. It wasn't in a town somewhere or a mental asylum, and the movie did start off quite decently in all honesty.

About 20 minutes or so in, however, is when it just started to go really downhill as it gradually got more ridiculous with one of the main parts being how Danny so easily accepted who he was and his family's history (if you watch the movie you'll see what I mean).

Just as a side note: despite what some people say about this installment as well, there is NOTHING to indicate that this is a prequel to the 1st film. It is just a really horrendous sequel to the previous installments.

Do yourself a favour...skip this pile of trash.

Disappointment
torstensonjohn1 November 2014
In the realm of sequels or films in a franchise this does not do the series any justcice. I for one though that Wrong Turn, 2,3,4,5 were actually much better than this plot and acting sequence. Granted we take a film for what it means to us viewers and the Wrong Turn series in general has just become iconic in how bad they really are. Next to the original there really is no comparison except shoddy plots, terrible acting, editing is sub par and it just is a fill in film. Im sure as those who collect films such as myself we will endure. The film is shot on a low budget and was filmed in Bulgaria. If you have nothing better to do than waste your time with the 6th installment.

This movie was really bad and I do not recommend it

This one SUCKED.... JUST STOP.. I really hope this is the last of the series... The first Wrong Turn was REALLY good, but they have gotten progressively worse and I believe this is rock bottom. It's just a big fu** fest and a TERRIBLE excuse for a horror movie. I rarely write reviews about movies but this was just awful!

Awful. Just awful.
diddlydiddlydee18 October 2014
Now, I am aware this was never going to be Oscar-worthy, however, I can honestly say this is the worst movie I have seen in years. Any reviews singing the movie's praises are simply lying. Every person in it cannot act; there was little or no plot beyond some people killing some other people; the characters made decisions that were simply ludicrous, or missed out on clearly obvious things that were happening. The girls in the movie were solely there to have breasts and get killed. They also have the token stoner guy who is in every horror movie and numerous people that you simply can't care about in any way. Don't waste your time with this one - movies 1 through 5 were much better, and that's saying something.

Good Hillbilly Horror!
Pairic13 August 2018
Wrong Turn 6: Yet another tale of horrendous hillbillies in the Appalachians. Guy inherits a resort/hotel in West Virginia and travels to it with a posse of friends. Dark deeds are taking place there, we see a member of a visiting group felled by a flying hatchet, already we've observed a pair cycling through the forest cut down with arrows. These aren't your average hillbillies though, more inbred than most they look as frightening as anything you would find in South West Kerry (Healy Raes) or rural Norfolk, oh, they're cannibals as well.

The hotel is run by a weird young couple who we soon discover are in league with the inbred cannibals. They have a plan for the inheritor which involves him staying and literally injecting new blood for the area. The other visitors can stay for dinner or rather be dinner. Good Hillbilly Horror. 7/10. On Horror Channel.

So, they're up to number six now.
Darkweasel14 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Those pesky inbreds, Three Finger, One Eye and Sawtooth are back to kill even more bad actors with sharp, pointy things. Is it a prequel? Is it a sequel? Does any of it actually make sense? Probably not. The rules of this entry are simple. Kill as many people as you can while leaving the most important characters for last and make sure you leave it open for another one next year.

Job done.

So what makes this one worth watching? Not a lot really. There's something about bloodlines and relatives, a whole family of inbreds, and some fairly uninventive murders. We get poorly CGI'd arrows to the face and mouth, barbed wire in the eyes, throat slashings, stabbings and general butchery. Oh, and a fire hose up the arse. We do get boobs though. Lots of lovely boobs. The loveliest of them all belonging to former Emmerdale actress, Roxanne Pallett, who even with a quite stunningly abysmal American accent, is very nearly worth sitting through 90 minutes of painfully average splatter and appalling acting for.

Boobs/10

What a waste of Time to watch this Wrong Turn 6
phahad-baig28 October 2014
Alas! i have wasted my time to watch this Part 6. i was waiting for this part since one and half year. but when after this came, it was weird to watch this part. This is really very weird part. V.Poor Story, bad direction, Previous parts were like OK,, 5th one was much odd, but this one is really very pathetic. This part doesn't have an impressive story. I was expecting as this would be connected to Wrong Turn 5, but this part has its own poor story, which has no connectivity with other parts. I was waiting that what happened to the girl whom they took with them in the last scenes of 5th part? what happened to the boss of 3 boys?? i was wondering where Danny came from and how did he get all that property?? how 3 boys were captured by (so called) brother and sister? Poor Direction, Bad Story, bad acting. I would not suggest any one to watch this movie and i would recommend not to watch along with kids as this movie contains spoiler scenes.

one of the best in the series
sambeedonidge2 September 2014
i really enjoyed this film, to be honest if you miss out 2,3,4 and 5 and think of this as the second take to the wrong turn series it will not disappoint its almost as good as the first and a lot better than all the ones in-between, there is some pretty decent special effects a lot of gore as you can imagine plus the story line and characters are actually well done, its no blockbuster but if your into these type of films and you love gore and violence this film is for you. i caught it online in the uk as its not available anywhere else yet except online but once it hits the shelfs i will be buying this on blu ray if not then defo a DVD copy.

i give this film a 10/10 for effort and bringing the wrong turn series back to life again

Much better than part 5.
TdSmth514 December 2014
A couple is cycling out in the woods. They take a bath in a hot spring. As they leave they run into our cannibals.

Next we meet 3 kids in a car. One of them, Danny, inherited something and they are on their way to find out what. His girlfriend his with him and they are trailed by four of their friends in a fancy car. We learn that all of them are Wall Street 1%ers. Danny was adopted and during the recent financial crises he even caused his friends to lose money. He's excited to discover he had a family somewhere. His girlfriend is initially supportive.

Once they get there, they discover a huge palatial resort. The two caretakers are two siblings, male and female. We've already learned earlier that they have plans for Danny that involve the girl. The guy in the meantime is on friendly terms with the 3 cannibals.

Danny is enchanted by the place and the people. Jackson, the caretaker, takes him hunting for the first time. His friends in the meantime are only concerned with money and any valuable objects they find in the place. When Danny announces his plans to restore the resort everyone is outraged. As they investigate the place they discover an amphitheater with a chair with stirrups in the center. Danny is taken to a celebration by the locals. They are all deformed and family. He's given something to drink and the girl caretaker seduces him. At this point people start dying and the kids discover the locals' diet.

I enjoyed Wrong Turn VI. It's a big improvement over the lame part 5. I don't know if they had more budget here or perhaps they could a lot more with in Bulgaria. Instead of confining us in a house or room at night, this movie takes place mostly during the day and in the outdoors, which is very refreshing and enjoyable. Horror movies need to learn to stay away from tired old scenes at night and in the rain. This movie also stays away from the typical horror movie formula--1. 10-minute intro 2. 30-minute peaceful times/intro to the stereotypical characters 3. 50-minute of all hell breaking lose. Rather in this movie there are killings throughout mixed with peaceful activities. It's only in the last 10 minutes that we get victims being chased by villains and so on. It's also pretty strong movie, thematically speaking. This isn't something for the easily offended. They made more of the incest theme here than in any of the others in the series. The death scenes are pretty good and there's some nudity as well.

Overall, a good entry in the series. It could have benefited from more violence and gore and more attention to the 3 cannibals. Instead here they are pretty much in the background.

This was a definite wrong turn.
avalonjoyous16 July 2016
Let's get this out of the way I really enjoy this franchise I have since I saw the first movie and now own them all on Bluray except (thankfully) not this one.

However that being said there is absolutely nothing redeemable whatsoever with this entry into the franchise .

The storyline is all over the place and has no general direction ,the acting is absolutely horrible ,and none of the characters are interesting much less likable .

The BAD GUYS are also laughable and Pathetic, the inbreds looked really cheap looking in this entry, and even the deaths were more hilarious then gruesome like some others were in this movie franchise.

The ending of this film was also nonsensical and literally just cuts off before you even know what the hell is even going on .

Which makes perfect sense since no part of this film made sense and the horribly bad acting only made that much more obvious.

This movie was also B O R I N G with a capital B all it was was talk talk talk kill kill kill over and over again through the entire film.

I managed to get to the halfway point of this film and fast forwarded it in the hopes that it would get better but nope it only got worse and more nonsensical and boring.

Essentially this movie was an embarrassment and a disaster all rolled into one so glad I watched it instead of bought it .

Don't rent and don't buy stay clear of this entry it's not worth the time nor the money period.

One of the best of the series, why did I only give it 1/10?
ncoleby14 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is a neat horror. Nothing to deep but entertaining nevertheless. The human killings were different and hence less tedious. It has a sort of storyline that makes the change in the main character more believable. I really enjoyed this film and I would have given it a 7/10, so why didn't I?

For all those who cannot stand animal snuff, stay well away from this. They kill a deer. They not only kill a deer but film it's eyes whilst it is dying. I had to keep my eyes closed for the scene but caught far too much. The reason I kept watching was in the hope that it was CGI or trickery. Waiting until the last of the credits I was still hoping for the: "No animals were harmed in this movie" but it never came.

I still hope that someone will comment on this and tell me I was wrong, but until then I'll stick with my 1/10 because using a dying creature and its pain and fear to make a film more exciting makes me sick to the bone.

So animal lovers: Stay away.

The Series Hits a New Low

Wrong Turn 6 (2014)

* (out of 4)

The latest and so far worst in the series has Danny (Anthony Ilott) and six of his friends driving down south so that he can try and figure out about his past. Danny, an orphan, knows very little about his past but he receives word that he has "family" but they turn out to be the mutants from the five previous films.

WRONG TURN 6 is a really bad movie on so many levels that it's almost hard to believe that it could be worse than the third film. There are so many awful and annoying things about this movie it's a wonder that this here simply doesn't end the series. But, then again, when did quality ever determine how many sequels a series gets?

It's clear that the filmmakers wanted to take the series into a new direction but the "idea" behind this film is just as awful as the ideas behind the sixth film in the HALLOWEEN franchise. Lets see....where do we start? We can start with the screenplay, which is just one bad cliché after another as we get a boring plot dealing with the man being pulled into his "family" in hopes that they can continue in the future, which really makes no sense when you see that there are plenty of males and females already in the family so breeding isn't really an issue. The characters in the film are all incredibly boring and there's not a single one of them that is interesting. The performances aren't too bad but even the likes of Brando, Newman and Foster wouldn't have been able to do anything with this story.

The CGI gore effects are pretty bad and the kills aren't at all creative with most of them just alternate versions of stuff we have seen previously. The film does goes into overdrive when it comes to nudity with four different actresses taking off their clothes and there's some pretty weird and kinky sexual stuff going on. As for our three main killers, they're pretty much wasted here and without a doubt this is the most boring use of them in the series. Their make-up is also extremely bad. WRONG TURN 6 is without question the worst in the series and lets hope if they decide to continue they get back on track.
