This film was very interesting in the way it delivered its content. There was humour, animation etc. But the issue for me is that whilst shunning carby fast food and adverts, it showed the exact foods and adds which trigger people to eat carb food. So I found myself desiring fast food almost uncontrollably. Now I'm fighting an urge for McDonald's.

If you know nothing about nutrition, if you know nothing about the food industry, if you know nothing about the statistics of the obesity epidemic continues to rise, then you need this movie.
It takes an hour and five minutes to come around to the fact that "there are no essential carbohydrates".
I'm hoping for something to give me incentive, encouragement on my health plan. The information was not bad, but it's not what I needed.
One reviewer stated that all the food on screen was triggering, and I know the feeling. There's a lot of junk food that they expose, and they show it all. So take it as you will.

eating to live

In 1978 during the famous Egyptian comedy play al-Motazowgoon, Hanafy, played by the late great Goerge Sedhom, said to his food obsessed wife Gamalat, played by Rawya Sa'id "people eat to live, Gamalat, they do not live to eat".
In this documentary, I saw a history of turning eating from something we do to live, into something we live to do. The film makers really nailed the thorough explanation of the complicated matter that effects people world wide. I wish that an Egyptian film maker would make a piece that is as honest and nuanced about Egyptian food culture as this one is about American food culture.

Easy for anyone to watch

They did a good job articulating in very simple format, that doesn't feel condescending to someone that already understands the pathophysiology. Use of animation helps keep any demographic engaged, but again, doesn't come off as childish.
Brilliant Movie

Another amazing movie by the Food Matters team! It simplifies the notion of the complex phenomenon food has become thanks to the western diet. Really simple solutions reiterated, it is really not that difficult to eat healthy. I like how the research was brought together from different angles making the documentary holistic.
For those who want to understand food and nutrition, this is a must watch.
The western diet has really been twisted and turned to suit the corporate industries who have taken over our food system therefore, To sum it up,JUST EAT REAL FOOD!!(Organic, Local and Seasonal)

I cannot believe that this has not been reviewed by more people or perhaps people do not think to review documentaries as much. in any case, they did an excellent job and explained in detail something I had already stumbled upon after a recent trip to the doctor who explained I was pre-diabetic and needed to change my diet or it would go full bore. I am amazed that the things they explained were not highlighted anywhere else, especially in schools and to parents. The way the film is shot is a bit quirky I will admit, but the information, research and facts given seemed well thought out, extremely informative and everyone (and I mean everyone) specifically in the good ol' US of A should be listening and studying this video and information intensely!
The facts need to get out
