I watch episodes of this series repeatedly in spite of the slightly obvious messages and its overall predictability, for its wholesomeness. One thing I might've possibly had a complaint about until episode 16 was that it felt like Jake was taking Boyle for granted.
This episode proved me wrong and took the wholesomeness I like a step further, when Jake is ready to make sacrifices and goes out of the way to help out his best friend.
The best moment, for me, was how he did his best to not fall for Vivian's friend, the Die Hard fan, and ensured to keep his focus on ensuring that Boyle doesn't scare Vivian off. I honestly wish Jake had called this lady in a future episode, perhaps instead of Rosa's friend, Katie.
The way Jake finally realized that Boyle wouldn't scare Vivian after all, and does a 180 in fully letting Boyle express his love for Vivian is one of my most favourite moments of this show. It shows that Jake is ready to be the friend that Boyle needs, especially when it comes to being the wingman in Boyle's love life.
