Warning: Spoilers
I feel in this episode we were possibly given a lot of goodbyes as the show likely cuts some fat before introducing whoever is going to surround April in the hospital. Though considering who was cut, there is no love lost for me. If just because, over the last few episodes, it has become apparent there wasn't going to be much in the way of development for those characters. However, while it may be of no surprise who was cut, there is one surprise with someone who stayed which I admit caught me off guard. More on that below.

Topic 1: The Love Triangle Ends – Brenna, Greer, and Kieran

With Greer and Brenna becoming so close, it has created quite a bit of issues for those who feel left out. Ford thinks she is being replaced, Kieran is getting jealous, and yet Brenna tries to appease them both and have it all. Problem is, she isn't dealing with just a best friend and a guy she hooks up with, she is dealing with people who have emotions. Ford seems to not have any friends outside of Brenna, and with her being replaced, for Greer of all people, you can see it is a bit devastating for her. As for Kieran, he technically came before Greer and though he stumbles often when it comes to handling the April thing, at the same time he doesn't know how to handle the situation.

But with Greer having the ability to be a good lover, friend, and confidant, an ultimatum is made. One which Ford forces since to get back at Brenna she decides to make out with Kieran, on Brenna's bed. Something which ends their friendship for that is just unforgivable. But then Kieran and Greer look toward Brenna because neither seem willing to share her, in terms of intimacy. And while I have covered multiple times why Greer is the better choice, it seems what kicked Kieran out at first was him bringing up an ultimatum. But, either way, I never really liked Kieran since he seemed too old for Brenna so I feel like everybody wins in the situation. Well, depending how things are handled with Brenna working at Kieran's shop, and whether Ford decides to start drama at school, like outing Brenna or something like that.

Topic 2: In Need of a Sense of Hope – April, Beth, and Leo

Since hooking up, Leo has been oddly distant. He doesn't return April's text, or voice mail messages, and it almost makes it seem like he got what he wanted and is ready to move onto his next bucket list task. Truth of the matter is though, as we learn when April goes to cover one of Bruce Hendrie's debates, some of Leo's bodily functions, for a lack of a better term, like speaking are starting to get affected by his tumor. Something he doesn't want to tell, or show, April for then she will continue to push how he is giving up and etc. Which, upon seeing him as bad as he is, forces April to tell Leo that straight up: Either fight with me, or I'm fighting alone. Meaning if he decides to not fight for his life, she can't be around him for I guess it would be easier to read he died than watch him slowly die without him trying to live.

But, in the long run, while she may not have much hope for Leo, she strangely gets a bit from Racquel. Let me explain: Beth joins April to cover the Hendrie debate, and this is not too long after April just got her eggs harvested. So as April looks a bit nauseous and tired, I think Beth realizes this is just a preview of what she will be seeing once April is getting Chemo. And with her seeing how Leo is affected by his cancer, she has a breakdown in the bathroom and as Rachel looks for Hendrie's campaign manager, since Hendrie leaves the debate to tend to Leo, she stumbles upon Beth who gives enough information for Raquel to know April is sick. Though, despite this information, she doesn't treat April differently. She remains the butt-hole she is. But as you watch how she handles Beth crying, and April, it does make you wonder what lead to her cold exterior besides trying to get ahead at all costs?

Topic 3: My Last Day - April

Leaving but the day before April goes in. Her last day at work includes a distant Danny who either can't stand the idea of her dying, is looking to take her spot, or is mad she didn't tell him. Either way he seems like he may get less focus like Ford and Kieran at this point, though it isn't like he got anywhere near as much development. Anyway, Raquel has seemingly spread the news about April's cancer and it leads to a lot of sympathy April isn't comfortable with, as well as her getting mad with Beth about blabbing. But with Raquel still being Raquel, and them being upfront about their feelings toward one another, it makes her last day at work end nicely. For even if Raquel and her aren't friends, you feel like Raquel knows what April maybe going through and while she maybe a rival, she is one she respects.

Leading to the topic of April's last night at home. Beth receives forgiveness by customizing April's clothes for when she is stuck in the hospital, grandma gets pot brownies, and everyone helps make decorations. But that is not all that is done, April not only writes an article about her having cancer, but also finally tells Dominic, via voice mail. Making it so the episode ends with everyone knowing, she ready for battle, and us hoping she wins.
