Good movie that has it's moments

Ignore the one star review insisting this movie hasn't been released - I just watched it under a different name "An Innocent Kiss" which is likely what caused some confusion. I submitted an update to get the title changed but not sure why the different names unless it was originally released as "Elbow Grease" maybe?

As for the movie it was a little slow to start out and took a little bit to introduce and build the characters but once things got rolling it was a funny movie with some hilarious moments that really made me laugh. Characters and story line made it pretty relatable and an easy watch if you're looking for something relaxing and enjoyable for the family.

Never releases

WHy is this site showing incorrect information? This movie was never released and yet IMDB says it was released two years ago. The movie company has a facebook page and they keep saying they are going to re-edit and release but it's been five years that they've been saying that.

Heart warming and hilarious, great for the whole family.

I was lucky enough to see this movie open at the Sarasota Film Festival this week and was blown away by genuine acting and storyline. Each scene had it's own significance that contributed to this well rounded production. The lead actress was sincere and incredibly endearing, the male lead was hilarious and so fun to watch. There were so many great characters everyone can relate to, from the cute young boys always getting into something, or the pre-teen girl who is transitioning from a "mama's girl" to a social teen. The everyday struggles of keeping the passion alive in a marriage through hard work, respect and dedication. Also, let's not forget the always amazing Burt Reynolds! Fantastic family film! Highly recommended!

SWEET AND BRILLIANT

This is a truly unique dramedy about a Southern family that feels like nothing Hollywood has ever produced. If you are from the South, you will absolutely love it. It feels honest and sincere and only gets better with every single viewing. Burt Reynolds is terrific as Grandpa, of course, but the entire cast shines. The movie, at first, seems like not much is happening, but as the film accelerates along, those small moments become comedy gold. Unlike other movies I have seen, Elbow Grease never makes fun of the South. Instead, it embraces the South using warmth and humor. These characters are astonishingly real. Elbow Grease is definitely not your typical Southern film. It not only gets the accents right, but it is also extremely well made. The characters are so realistic making it a breath of fresh air. A masterpiece from first time director Jason Shirley.

Love this movie!!! It has great southern humor and the characters are so true to life. Burt Reynolds is awesome as always. Great movie! Hope to see more from the "Barnes family" in the future!

This movie reminds us that we are not all perfect but we can always strive to be better. The characters in this movie feel familiar and pull you into the story. This movie is packed with emotion which made me cry and laugh. A great performance by the great Burt Reynolds!

As a northern transplant to the south, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie depicting my experience of what life in the mill town, south really feels like. It was touching to see Burt Reynolds acting in what would be his last film performance before he passed. Iconic... I needed a break from all the superhero films. I found the authenticity sweet and refreshing. Also after checking out their new social media, I read that no one has ever debuted a theatrical run with an already released movie. (Which answered some of my questions.) So I am impressed with Small Country and hope this production company will find fresh footing for another Jason Shirley film! I think this movie will one day become a piece of nostalgia for both the south and Burt Reynolds fans. Carry on Jason Shirley

Great story

Loved the storyline of this movie. It added a touch of humor and misunderstandings to a family that is easy to fall in love with. Ellie and Billy are such a lovable couple and the actors did a wonderful job portraying them. Worth the watch!!
