For all its other successes, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had its fair share of naff villains. Arguably, the worst is Malekith the Accursed, the leader of the Dark Elves from 2013’s already underwhelming Thor: The Dark World. It turns out it’s not only the fans who don’t look upon Malekith highly, either, as actor Christopher Eccleston has also blasted the role in a new interview.
While talking with Graham Norton on his BBC Radio 2 show, Eccleston admitted that his part in The Dark World was “not my greatest moment, it has to be said.” A major reason the former Doctor Who star found the movie such a drag was the lengthy make-up sessions he needed to sit through every morning in order to get into character.
“The first couple of days it was about seven hours, eight hours [in make-up]. I think we got it down to six and a half.

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens now baked into the fabric of pop culture, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story nearly a year away, the all-seeing eye of Sauron entertainment coverage turned from a galaxy far, far away. Superhero Season is ramping up, after all. Plus all those hotly anticipated shows are either back or about to kick into gear again. The world had moved on…momentarily. That was a mistake. While we were all distracted by men in rubber suits, Glenn’s fate, and Schrödinger's Jon Snow, somehow not one but Two pieces of Rogue One footage leaked online. The first footage comes from over a month ago. It was allegedly filmed at Elstree Film Studios in the U.K., according to The Mirror. There isn’t much to go on in the low-quality video. A densely wooded forest spreads out beneath the camera while Obi-Wan Kenobi narrates.

The Jedis are all but extinct, the Old Republic is in turmoil and the threat of the Death Star is looming in Rogue One, fans learned at Star Wars Celebration on Sunday.
Director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) debuted a tantalizing concept reel to preview the mysterious film, which is part of a series of films exploring other stories outside of the core Star Wars saga.
"For more than 1,000 generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times. Before the Empire," the voiceover reads, as the camera tracks to show a ghostly Death Star hovering in the clouds.
Set between the third and the fourth movies in the Star Wars saga, the film will follow a band of resistance fighters who unite to steal the Death Star plans and "bring a new hope," referring to the subtitle of the original Star Wars.

"For more than a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire..." Plenty of new details about the expanded Star Wars universe revealed, as the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim ended with a panel featuring director Gareth Edwards. After bring us Godzilla, Gareth is next set to direct the first "spin-off" solo Star Wars movie after Disney bought Lucasfilm and brought back Star Wars. It was revealed recently that the title of the December 2016 film would be Rogue One, but during the panel they played a very early, brief teaser trailer for Rogue One that featured a different title. Contrary to popular belief, Christopher Nolan was not the first Nolan involved with Interstellar. Before the Dark Knight helmer came aboard, Steven Spielberg was mulling taking the reins and would have worked from a script by Jonathan Nolan. Of course, that didn’t happen, and viewers ended up with a visually jaw-dropping and narratively ambitious (if not entirely successful) space epic that explored universal themes of time, love and the human drive to survive. The Christopher Nolan touch made the pic soar in some ways and fall short in others, but now it has come out that if Jonathan Nolan had his way, Interstellar would have been a very, very different film altogether.
Promoting the movie’s upcoming Blu-Ray release, the younger Nolan recently let slip that his original ending for Interstellar would have divided public opinion even more than the final one.
Spoiler Alert!

Johnathan|Christian, the haunting new transatlantic project from American composer Johnathan Mooney (The New Creatures) and Swedish dark-rocker Christian Granquist (The Atom) have produced not one but two impressive debuts: the full-length album Beautiful Hideous arrived late last year, earning major props across the gothic, industrial, darkwave and other alternative music press; the band followed up that success this month with a remix of the single “I Walk This Earth Alone,” featuring the talents of Danish industrial music legend Leæther Strip (a.k.a. Clause Larsen), and the two records combined represent some the best of old and new gothic rock/darkwave styles, strongly reminiscent of early death-rock legends Christian Death and '80s goth icons Sisters of Mercy, but with a modern production sheen. The band's songwriting doesn't seem to be designed with the dance floor in mind, but rather as a kind of dream soundtrack to an extremely...
