In case you’re not fully familiar with it, Oblivion Battery is a baseball sports manga by Eko Mikawa, which has been published since 2018 and currently consists of 17 collected volumes as of the time of writing. On October 11, 2020, a 20-minute Ona episode was released before the manga was properly adapted into an anime series which premiered on April 10, 2024. The anime is produced by Mappa and the third episode, which aired recently, provided us with a very special Easter Egg that many fans will love, but which is also a heartbreaking tribute to a manga and anime legend.

Oblivion Battery, the latest project of Mappa Studios, recently released its third episode, and the series has added an interesting element to it. The episode features a scene where the protagonist of the series, Kei Kaname, turns into Goku’s Super Saiyan form, paying homage to the iconic Dragon Ball series by Akira Toriyama.

Oblivion Battery , a currently broadcasting TV anime based on the baseball manga of the same name, has published credit-free versions of the opening and ending animation sequences for the series. The opening animation sequence features Mrs. Green Apple performing the song “Lilac”, while the ending animation sequence features Macaroni Empitsu performing the song “Wasurena Uta” (“Forgotten Song”).
