Featured the debut of "The Madman From The Sudan" Abdullah the Butcher, who squashed David Isley. After the match, David Crockett interviewed Abdullah's manager Gary Hart while Abdullah chewed on the bottom rope.
Featured the surprise debut of The Original Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose) with manager Paul E. Dangerously (Paul Heyman), who jumped The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) and manager James E. Cornette. During Lane's squash of Menace #2, Cornette had been ranting to an unidentified person on a telephone call when Condrey and Rose attacked Lane and Eaton, with Dangerously smashing his cell phone over Cornette's head, leaving Cornette bloody. Condrey and Rose had been the first version of the Midnights, with Eaton replacing Rose, and then Lane replacing Condrey after Condrey had left in early 1987 without giving any kind of notice. Condrey and Rose had reunited in the AWA with Dangerously as their manager, which was pointed out by commentators Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone, who said, "They don't even work here!"
