In the spring of 1887, terrible news hits the small seafaring village of Plouezec, Brittany. The "Petite Jeanne", a 106-ton schooner, has been lost in Iceland, a catastrophe that means the ruin of fifteen homes in the village. It's up to the mayor and village rector to notify the families of the missing. For the moment, only Louise, who fetches water from the fountain, has seen them. She immediately realizes which boat has been struck by fate. Immediately, she runs from house to house to warn those for whom misfortune has befallen.
