Very interesting but the fake interviews ruined it

The actors and actresses are great, however i'd rather of heard about victorian murders and crimes then watching fake interviews at a police station. I hope if this tv series is to get another season then they will leave all the fake pretend interview's at the police station out as they was not interesting whatsoever. This does not include the historical and scientific expert interviews, they was interesting. I kind of expected the victorian murder files to be a full documentary however most of the series you're just watching actors doing interviews at a police station which just didn't make any of the historical part about this show seem real.

It's murder to watch

Soooo... I like to learn about murders. I just do. I want to know why and how and also like to understand how they got caught.

This show seemed interesting historical murders revisited. I only have managed to watch 40% of the first episode. And here is what I thought about it:

Slow, sluggish and repetitive.

Gave me the impression that it was rushed, the budget was inexistent and no one really took the time to research the actual facts.

Regarding this murder (in the first episode) I found a newspaper article which was much better than the 45 mim I lost in my life to hear the same conclusions from several 'experts' several times.

Could not finish. Will not watch.

Irritating To Watch At Best

So..this is titled Victorian Murder Files. So it's set in the Victorian era right? No, they use actors in today's clothing.

They've basically re-enacted murder investigations from the past in the present and its blooming off-putting! Did they run out of budget for costumes and a bit of old set?

I just can't seem to match up what I'm seeing. Actors dressed in today's clothing speaking as though they're from the past.. It's extremely disjointed, repetitive and confusing. What's more sorry to say but the actors are so flat it's boring!

Had a good premise, shame they couldn't do the re-enactments in costume. I don't recommend this at all!

Exploitative nonsense

I do not write reviews but I feel I should write this. Unfortunately I missed the first one but it is the third one that I found particularly annoying and I had to go back to check. Why did they not inform us of the time period when this took place? Why did they not put up a picture of the woman which is freely available? And don't get me started on why the program treats us like brain damaged idiots repeating endlessly after the advert breaks what we have just seen a few minutes previously. I have been invited a few times to be on programs such as this and I felt sorry for the actors? Or the professionals involved. The producer and the director could do better if they learned from the the way documentaries were made in the 1950s. That is, without their egos getting in the way. To deliver the information succinctly and clearly, without exploitation. If they need an example then look for, 'Scotland Yard' with Edgar Lustgarten.
