Sean Teale has been cast as a series regular in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming ABC series “Dr. Odyssey,” Variety has learned.
Teale will star in the series alongside previously announced lead Joshua Jackson as well as fellow cast members Don Johnson and Phillipa Soo. Plot and character details for the show are being kept under wraps, but sources say the series is a medical procedural set on a cruise ship. It is slated to premiere during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.
Teale first broke out as a cast member in the popular UK series “Skins,” holding a main role in the series during its fifth and sixth seasons. He went on to star in shows like “Mr. Selfridge” and “Reign.” His other recent credits include leading the Syfy series “Incorporated” as well as starring in shows like “The Gifted” at Fox, “Little Voice” at Apple TV+, and “Who Is Erin Carter?” at Netflix.

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

Minnie Driver played grown-up Wendy Darling in NBC's Peter Pan Live!, but unfortunately, she didn’t get to fly. Instead, the About a Boy star provided the show’s narration and in the end, watched as Peter and her character's young daughter flew off into the night.
Despite a flurry of Internet reactions during the telecast, the three-hour musical event pulled in 9.1 million viewers – a good showing for a primetime program, but still less than half the number of people who tuned in for last December’s The Sound of Music Live! with Carrie Underwood.
Though she was backstage at the show, Driver is keeping quiet about any technical mishaps that might have happened during NBC’s second live musical event.
"I’ll never tell," she told Et, but insisted there were no major malfunctions. "Astonishingly, there was hardly anything that went wrong."

At times, you might mistake Lifetime's enjoyably earnest Biblical epic The Red Tent (Sunday-Monday, 9/8c) for an Old Testament version of Call the Midwife. Adapted from Anita Diamant's novel, this saga of revisionist her-story focuses on willful Dinah (The White Queen's Rebecca Ferguson), the only daughter of Jacob (Game of Thrones' Iain Glen) — he of the many sons, including the sartorially infamous Joseph.

Sometimes associated with more “futuristic” fare — either as V‘s fierce alien queen or Firefly‘s outer-space Companion — Morena Baccarin with one of her latest roles traveled back in time, to the days of the Old Testament, for Lifetime’s The Red Tent miniseries.

When author Anita Diamant’s novel The Red Tent was published, readers praised the book for giving a voice to women who had been all but ignored in ancient and sacred texts. The bestseller has become a book club favorite because of its cross-generational appeal and frank exploration of the lives of women — especially concerning ancient fertility and birthing rituals. Now Lifetime gives history’s forgotten women a face in the four-hour, two-night miniseries The Red Tent by re-envisioning the lives of biblical women whose actual histories have been lost to the sands of time. In The Red Tent, the bond … Continue reading →

Tom Cruise has a new love interest - at least in theory. Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson, who won a Golden Globe nod for her performance in last year's BBC/Starz miniseries "The White Queen," has won the coveted female lead in "Mission: Impossible 5," according to Deadline. The actress joins returning stars Cruise, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner in the Christopher McQuarrie-directed sequel, which (as we found out earlier today) Alec Baldwin is also reportedly in talks for. The followup is set to begin filming in August. In addition to her role in the forthcoming Dwayne Johnson action vehicle "Hercules," Ferguson's credits include Swedish soap opera "Nya tider," "Wallander" and Ridley Scott's scrapped Showtime pilot "The Vatican." Other upcoming films include "Despite the Falling Snow" opposite Charles Dance and "The Red Tent" co-starring Morena Baccarin, Minnie Driver, Iain Glen and Debra Winger. The last entry in the series,...

Another bible-themed longform project is heading to the small screen. Lifetime is going into production with The Red Tent, a two-night miniseries adaptation of the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant published in 1997. The White Queen star Rebecca Ferguson, Minnie Driver (About A Boy) and Homeland alumna Morena Baccarin lead the cast of the four-hour mini, produced by Sony TV and executive produced by Paula Weinstein. Co-starring in the project, which begins production this month in Morocco, are Game Of Thrones‘ Iain Glen and Will Tudor as well as Debra Winger. The Red Tent tells the story of Dinah (Ferguson), the daughter of Leah and Jacob, who is only briefly referenced in the Old Testament. The miniseries begins with Dinah’s happy childhood spent inside the red tent where only the women of her tribe are allowed to gather and share the traditions and turmoil of ancient womanhood. Told through Dinah’s eyes,...
