This is strictly my personal opinion and need not pertain to any other person.
When the plot is wafer thin, It requires a lot of directorial skills and screenplay writing to keep audience glued. But Trivikram failed in doing so. Instead, as he usually does, relied excessively on dialogs neglecting the emotional aspect of the film. His direction is illogical and inconsistent, many times. He failed to raise the Emotion/Sentiment bar till the climax and then suddenly tried hard to take it to maximum, but in vain. He made a mess there. His taking is snail paced, at many places and hence results in excessive duration (2 hrs 45 mins). As a dialog writer he, surprisingly, does an okay job. There are some very well written dialogs and then there are some cheeky ones like "Harvard lo kurchopedadham anukunnanu... Ila Hall lo nilbettesaventey ??" Similarly in the beginning part of the movie, "Biryani yenduku thintaam ?? Balam kosam. Kidnap yenduku chestham ?? Paisala kosam". I don't think any one eats Biryani for the sake of strength. I think he is concentrating more on rhyming.
Coming to other departments, Cinematography is excellent and so does the Art work. The backdrops are lavish and rich. Editing is average, as there are many unnecessary scenes. Lyrics are sometimes good and sometimes annoying. I don't understand what is the need for high voltage lyrics like - "Veedu Aaradugula bullet.." in the first song. It makes no sense at all, because hero comes to India to convince his Attha but not, to fight with some goons. What is the need for such kind of lyrics ?? Only the lyricist Srimani and Trivikram know the answer.
Music by Devi Sri Prasad is POOR. His quality is depreciating day by day. Instead of composing some fresh tunes, he is just recycling old ones. None of the songs, leaves any impact on the listeners. They only serve as instant fillers. I strongly opine that if this kind of songs are given to any small budget film, they just bomb. Because it is Pawan Kalyan's movie, people listened to them, having no other alternative. But one thing that stands out of his otherwise bland work is his Background score. Though purely functional, his Background Score is excellent and keeps audience engaged to the plot. His Background Score definitely deserves special appreciation. Actually, it would have been great if the Filmfare award is given to his BGM rather than his songs.
And now performances. It is a Cake walk for Pawan Kalyan up to Climax. But in climax, it requires a lot of performing skill to pull off but Pawan Kalyan does only half justice. There he tried a lot to emote and is only partly successful. Sometimes his expressions appear artificial and forced. There is no scope for both Samantha and Pranitha. They're fine. Nadhiya excels in Attha role. Rao Ramesh is nice. Comedy by Ali is excellent, though lasts for only few scenes. Brahmanandam does justice to his role but in turn it is the role that does not do any justice to Brahmanandam's stature. Sometimes, we, ourselves, must tickle our bones to laugh at his comedy. Rest of the cast did their job, perfectly well though they hardly have any scope to do.
Despite many negatives, this movie is definitely a family entertainer. You may watch it with all your family members sitting together and laugh out heartily many times. Because, this is basically an entertainer. This might fill up the slot on some festival days. Having said that, you must leave you logic cap behind for certain scenes.
