The national board of the actors union told members Sunday not to work on “The Getaway,” an Esquire Network series that is executive produced by CNN personality Anthony Bourdain. The show features actors such as Josh Gad and directors including Paul Feig traveling to exotic locations to eat and drink. “Do Not Work notices are for the benefit of our members and are not issued lightly,” stated Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-aftra’s chief operating officer and general counsel. “These are final measures against an employer who has failed to sign a SAG-aftra agreement, making it clear that our members will not accept work from this employer until an agreement has been signed.” Meanwhile, the national board also unanimously ratified the recently negotiated 2014 SAG-aftra TV Animation Agreement and SAG-aftra Basic Cable Animation Agreement. The new contracts, which go into effect immediately, are retroactive to July 1 and will run through June 30, 2017. Broad strokes...

Joel McHale is a men's fashion and style fan who still manages to juggle his NBC Community commitments with tapings of The Soup, which recently reached a 500-episode milestone -- as well as its Daily Show-inspired spinoff The Soup Investigates. He even did the premiere episode for Esquire's The Getaway where he shopped for nice duds in Dublin. And he somehow finds time to have a movie career, to wit, he played Mila Kunis' boss in the 2012 blockbuster Ted with a role as a former Army Ranger in Beware the Night and a part as Robin Williams' son in the upcoming holiday comedy Merry Friggin' Christmas. The Hollywood Reporter had an intervie with McHale for their second annual...

NBC has ordered four more scripts of Sean Saves the World. That indicates the network may end up ordering more episodes. I don’t know if I’m cheering for that to happen or not.
Alexis Denisof has joined the MTV drama pilot Finding Carter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series focuses on a teen girl who learns she was abducted as a child and suddenly finds herself adjusting to live with the family she never knew. Denisof will play her father, a novelist whose only success was a true crime novel based on how he dealt with his daughter being kidnapped. In the meantime, we’re waiting for him to reunite with Angel producer David Greenwalt on Grimm.
Wesley Windham-Prycce, still missed.
Lifetime is looking at adapting The Trip to Bountiful into a movie. This version would star Cicely Tyson and Vanessa Williams, much like the recent Broadway revival of the play.

Syfy has ordered an amazing-sounding reality series. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge will basically be the creature version of Face Off with Jim Henson‘s son, Brian Henson as lead judge.
CBS has made it possible to watch the pilot Super Clyde online. The rejected comedy, from Raising Hope and My Name is Earl producer Greg Garcia, starred Rupert Grint as a fast food worker who receives an inheritance and uses it to become a superhero. Stephen Fry plays Clyde‘s butler, Tyler Labine plays Clyde’s brother and overall the pilot shows a frustrating amount of promise. Even if there won’t be more episodes, it’s worth watching for fans of Garcia’s previous shows.
Plus, who can say no to Rupert Grint in a sidecar?
It’s official. Jennie Garth has joined Tori Spelling‘s ABC Family pilot Mystery Girls.
You can add The Six Million Dollar Man...

“Parenthood” star Erika Christensen gets a front row seat for possibly the strangest surf and turf challenge ever on Tuesday’s episode of Esquire Network’s culinary competition, “Knife Fight.” The actress is apparently a good friend of host Ilan Hall. And she is front and center when he introduces the episode’s three secret ingredients: Squab (aka pigeon), Dungeness crab and cod alongside, wait for it, cod sperm. See video: Aziz Ansari Eats, Gambles His Way Through Hong Kong on Esquire Network’s ‘The Getaway’ (Video) Christensen reacts to the ingredients with wide-eyed surprise, but at least she doesn...

Funnyman Aziz Ansari gets a taste of Hong Kong culture during Wednesday’s episode of “The Getaway” at 9/8c on Esquire Network. The “Parks and Recreation” star brings the funny as he shops for a custom-made suit, attempts his luck at the Hong Kong Derby and bravely consumes the local delicacy- snake soup. See video: Elijah Wood Shows His Foodie Side on Esquire Network’s ‘Knife Fight’ Attempting to “win some dough” at the horse races, Ansari sips beer through a straw and cheers on the horse with the “strongest name,” his surefire strategy for predicting the winner. “The Getaway,...

Tori Spelling‘s ABC Family pilot Mystery Girls might turn into a 90210 reunion as TVLine reports that Jennie Garth is likely to be cast as Spelling’s co-star. Since Mystery Girls is about the two stars of a cancelled mystery drama who find themselves solving real crimes. I think this calls for 90210 fanfic about how Donna Martin and Kelly Taylor open a detective agency.
Sorry Camp fans, you’ll have to spend next summer someplace else. NBC has cancelled the summer dramedy.
I know some of you will miss Camp‘s gay dads.
Switched at Birth‘s Katie Leclerc will get to further show off her comedy chops when she makes a guest appearance on Community as a woman who teaches Abed sign language.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Max Greenfield explained that how New Girl got footage showing cats’ odd attraction to Schmidt. “You know when...

While I would have preferred a Gotham Central TV series, Fox has won the bidding war over Gotham, a series that follows future police commissioner Jim Gordon in the days before he meets Batman.
Jack Coleman, who I think might be the only person to play two different gay characters on the same night of TV (thanks to gay roles on The Office and The Vampire Diaries) will appear in a recurring role on the upcoming season of Scandal.
In news that makes me happy, FX has ordered a second season of The Bridge. I’m looking forward to seeing Sonya and Marco continue to be TV’s oddest odd-couple cops. I’m also hoping they find a way to keep Matthew Lilard around. He makes more sense than some of The Bridge‘s other peripheral characters.
White Collar is getting even more good looking as EW reports that...
