Anonymous Content Brazil, a CAA-backed partnership between São Paulo-based Rt Features and Anonymous Content, has kicked off production on its first scripted project, a TV adaptation of Raphael Montes’ bestseller “Perfect Days” for Globo Brazil’s giant streaming platform, Globoplay.
The eight-episode adaptation is directed by International Emmy-winning helmer Joana Jabace (“Precious Pearl”) from scripts penned by Claudia Jouvin (“The Nightshifter”).
In “Perfect Days,” Clarice (played by Julia Dalavia), a carefree, budding screenwriter, playfully kisses Téo, an awkward medical student, to rile her college boyfriend. But the joke escalates into a nightmare when Téo, fixated on making Clarice love him, abducts her for a frantic road trip across Rio de Janeiro. His obsession intensifies, driving him to extreme lengths to safeguard their supposed perfect life.
The series also stars Jaffar Bambirra (“A vida pela frente”), Débora Bloch (“Segunda chamada”) and Fabiula Nascimento (“The Night Shifter”).

Brazilian TV giant Globo has brought to this year’s Natpe conference in Miami one of its biggest access prime time hits in the last eight years. “A Life Worth Living” underscores that, as Globo and its Svod service Globoplay explore ever more shorter series formats – “Second Call,” “Aruanas,” telenovelas and melodrama are still kings in Latin America.
With a daily audience of 36 million, the show turns on Paloma (Grazi Massafera), a dreamy seamstress and mother of three whose life is turned upside down when she’s diagnosed with a terminal disease. Wrongly, as she later discovers, along with the really terminally ill Alberto (Antonio Fagundes) a wealthy book publisher, on the verge of death. Between them a friendship blossoms inspired by a common love of literature and an awareness of how finite life is.

Madrid — Brazilian TV giant Globo, the biggest media company in Latin America, will join the ranks of international streaming platforms on Jan. 19, launching its over-the-top Globoplay service in the U.S’s booming subscription video streaming market.
Priced at $13.99 a month, Globoplay’s launch marks the first move in international expansion for the Ott service, and rolls off the creation of a burgeoning line in original production at Globoplay, one of the fastest growing domestic production powerhouses in Latin America:

That figure will rise to 16 in 2020, between titles produced at Estúdios Globo and co-productions with Brazil’s independent sector, Raphael Corrêa Netto, Globo director of international businesses, told Variety.

It’s been rare in recent decades that Latin American free to air tv has ventured into social drama as the realism needed to handle the genre has often been deemed to gritty to be entertaining.
That’s not been the case for Brazil’s Globo however, which has moved waves and dales, which reaping prizes, with series such as “Under Pressure” or “Jailers,” that grip audiences while examining the lives of doctors and prison guards.
As the Brazilian broadcaster presented its new lineup at Mipcom, Globo shared a sneak peek of its new series “Second Call,” an ensemble series which follows the daily life of the teachers and students at a state school on the outskirts of São Paolo.
Co-produced by O2 Filmes, which is co-run by “City of God’s” Fernando Meirelles, directed by Joana Jabace and written by Carla Faour and Julia Spadaccini, “Second Chance” stresses the...
