Unveiling a realm that shatters conventions, navigating uncharted narrative waters with a defiant spirit, these shows stand as beacons of unpredictability.
SonGoku5407 August 2023
With a bold assertion right from its opening frame, "Kaalkoot" captivates the audience's attention. This cinematic masterpiece delves into the heart-wrenching realm of heinous acid attacks, weaving a poignant narrative that ultimately blossoms into a tale of discovering profound respect for all genders. As we traverse the cinematic landscape, we are introduced to Ravi Shankar Tripathi, portrayed by the exceptional Vijay Varma. His personal journey commences on a softer, more intimate note - a police officer yearning to break free from the clutches of systemic corruption. Yet, he is also a devoted son, entangled in the delicate web of his mother's persistent pleas for him to embrace matrimony. The film's intricate layers unravel, painting a vivid picture of emotions, challenges, and transformation, leaving an indelible mark on the tapestry of cinema.

Right from the inaugural frame of the narrative, Varma exudes a magnetic presence that effortlessly seizes control of the screen. In the realm of performers, a select few possess the uncanny ability to infuse their characters with a profound sense of humanity, allowing their evolution to unfurl with natural authenticity. Varma unquestionably belongs to this echelon of actors. As the harrowing acid attack case lands on his doorstep, he immerses himself with unwavering commitment, delving into the abyss of the investigation. In this relentless pursuit of truth, the contours of his own worldview and self-perception undergo a profound metamorphosis, etching a transformative arc that resonates deeply with both the character and the audience alike.

Embarking on a transformative odyssey, he transcends his initial desire to abandon the force, emerging as an officer profoundly entangled in the moral labyrinth of the case. Supported by an ensemble of performances that exude equal potency, the show unveils a chilling visage of its thematic core: the sinister depths of its subject matter. It dauntlessly confronts us with a haunting query that resonates beyond the screen: How do we, as a collective society, weave a tapestry of respect that celebrates the individuality of women? What veils our progress on this path? And, in the face of unspeakable injustices inflicted upon them, where do we even find the starting point for restitution?

The bone-chilling truth of the girl's silence, a haunting silence piercing the very core, surfaces under the skilled gaze of the officer, etching an indelible mark across the episodes. Her voice, imprisoned by an unspeakable terror, becomes a spectral enigma, both figuratively and literally. Officer Ravi Tripathi's unwavering pursuit to unravel the case transcends the bounds of a single brutal incident. Within this narrative tapestry, a grander proclamation about the intricate interplay of power and gender reverberates, casting an unyielding spotlight on the larger sociocultural canvas.

Nice

It may be hard for these dramatized accounts to accurately portray the genuine nature of a crime. Kalkoot boasts excellent direction. Exceptional care has been taken with each and every component. I'm really happy with the selection of Vijay Verma for this role. He turned with a career-best performance. Impressive results. Not only is the film's story and dialogue excellent, but so are many other aspects of it. You'll be asked to sit through the whole operation. The plot takes several unexpected turns. Absolutely nothing can compare to this! This crime thriller is both fascinating and professionally constructed.

tremendous performance.
sumitatoz31 July 2023
Seeing Vijay Varma in this role has been a joy. As the lead in a crime drama, he provides a tremendous performance. He also sees their divergent trajectories as alarmingly evident. Though I wasn't sure what to anticipate, it ended up being much better than I had anticipated. The police investigation was included in the list of events that were all documented. You realize in the end that you genuinely adore it. Though I wasn't sure what to anticipate, it ended up being much better than I had anticipated.... I wouldn't be shocked if plenty of people came to this. A perfect score in my film is a 10.

This one comes with powerful social messages and is very well thought out story line. I am really excited to see Vijay Varma in this role. He has worked really hard. His performance is a game changer, and Kaalkoot is a must watch. Its thrilling and has various twists. The content is gripping. Full credit goes the script writer, director and the actors. I would mention it firmly that I really loved the twists involved. I am so excited that I cant express myself in words. Without a doubt, Kaalkoot is massively entertaining. I can bet my money that it is going to capture your imagination.

A must watch!

Amazing Web series
vsonal-9664928 July 2023
The story and the thoughts given here are excellent. For me, it's like a dream come true to finally see Vijay Verma in this part. He's put forth a lot of effort. Don't pass up the chance to read Kalkoot, his seminal movie. Highly engaging and unexpectedly complex. What an interesting story. Author, director, and actors all deserve credit for this. I want to stress how much I appreciated all the unexpected turns in the plot. I have no words to describe how content I am. There's no doubting that Kalkoot offers a remarkable variety of ways to pass the time. I'm willing to bet that it will pique your interest.

KAALKOOT-a very disturbing portrait of misogyny and a world of destructive male ego
puranjanbasak13 August 2023
Kaalkoot is a drama series directed by sumit saxena.

One of the most unnatural yet well defined show. Vijay varma, yashpal sharma and gopal dutt lead the murky trio of the police personnel. They are flawed, with not so good societal mindset. Vijay varma, being the most forward among them, but yet bogged down by his upbringing and surroundings. He never tries to undermine or dominate others' twisted ideas. That's one of the greatest qualities of the show. It never dhies away from the dark, unnerving truths about the human race. But what i would have liked is a more firm cinematography and more crisp writing. The procedural is very real, but it gets tangled in the screenplay sometimes. The cinematography is shaky in places where it should not be. Despite its flaws, its one of the most excellent ones of 2023.

Overhyped
tazeenkapdi30 August 2023
The series is based on the acid attack on a girl and the investigation to find the culprit. Other than performances of characters the investigation seems very loose.

I was surprises by the great rating of 8 and watched this series but ended up realizing that it was faul. I did not find it worth an 8 rating show.

Vijay Verma, Gipal Dutt and Yashpal Sharma have done justic to their roles. The dialogues of characters is also OK and I would say not too great for a thriller series.

Shweta Tripathi is great as usual and her acting skills should have been utlized more as some other character rather than victim.

Top level acting, cinematography and bgmi was next level
mr-gogana2 August 2023
Top level acting with by all actors director did wonderful job in cinematography and bgmi is the best part for the series. I just feeling bad for actor like Shweta didn't get info screen time. If she got some more screen time then it will create more impact on the storyline. But Vijay and all other supporting actors did fabulous job. Great job by the team of this series great storyline. But in the end it is as pretty fast looking like they wanna wrap up everything in quickly. They should have execute it better way. But overall it's one of the best series I have seen after a while in the bollywood.

Finally, Vijay Verma in a protagonist role
Hussain-AL-Naseer2 September 2023
Vijay Verma's portrayal in a protagonist role is an absolute delight and a refreshing change for fans who have eagerly awaited his evolution as an actor. His performance truly shines in this series, adding depth and authenticity to the character.

This series can be aptly described as more of a compelling mystery than a typical thriller. The narrative masterfully centers around the quest to unveil the perpetrator responsible for the horrifying acid attack. The simplicity of the storyline is, in fact, its strength, allowing for a well-crafted, focused, and emotionally charged plot.

One of the highlights of this series is the return of Yashpal Sharma, who graces the screen after a significant hiatus. Additionally, Gopal Dutt's transformation into a more serious character is a pleasant surprise, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Overall, the series proves to be a highly engaging and addictive watch, making it a perfect choice for avid binge-watchers. Its ability to grip the audience with its intriguing mystery and strong performances is a testament to its quality.

narrative is always entertaining
ramanatoz31 July 2023
Making believable television crime dramas may be difficult. In Kalkoot, you can rely on knowledgeable assistance. The required steps have been completed. Vijay Verma will be successful in this role, I'm sure of it. Without a doubt, that was among his finest performances ever. With that, you did a terrific job. The best parts of the movie are the script and the characters' amusing dialogue. In the final few chapters, the suspense in the film truly intensifies. Viewing the development of the narrative is always entertaining. There is no better option than this. It's safe to say that this gripping crime thriller will be entertaining to watch and well-made.

Good Acting Bad Action
dishuu-243922 August 2023
In the last episode he fight with an iron rod in his chest and he removed the rod inside the water and still survives, and the villan, villan have more skills then police means sooo sooo above then police, and everytime the hero seems to be trusted and never point out his gun, and villan get hit by rod several times and then get unconscious but hero with even rod doesn't, soo acting wise its good but action can be more better. The character build up was good and each episode make some excitement to viewer, this series shows alot and gives a good message too. But action was really messed but i hope they work on it next time.

Weak writing
ishan-kgp3 August 2023
While the director and cinematographer demonstrate promising capabilities, the writing disappoints immensely. The impression one gets is as though the writer is an out-of-touch city dweller, lacking any insight into the workings of the Indian police force or the intricate dynamics of Indian society. It's implausible how a Sub-Inspector, even a novice one, is portrayed with such naivety. The position is not to be taken lightly and the way it's depicted here is almost a mockery.

Vijay Verma, a talented actor, seems squandered in this scenario. However, it's a silver lining that he is given a rare chance to play the protagonist, a departure from his usual roles.

Overall, the series suffers from superficial writing and shoddy characterization. The nuanced realities of Indian society and policing seem overlooked, leading to a disappointing representation that fails to resonate with audiences. While the production elements are commendable, they are unable to salvage the unconvincing storyline and characterization.

I envision Vijay Verma in it
snehangshujana-3050828 July 2023
The narrative itself is powerful, but so are the social issues it raises. I envision Vijay Verma in it. I think he's giving it his all here. If you want to get a new appreciation for the game, you can't afford to miss Kalkoot's performance. Unanticipated twists and turns maintain the story's momentum. This attention to detail is superb. Everyone involved in the production, from the director and actors to the writers, deserves praise. I can't emphasize how much I loved seeing the story develop. I don't know how to express how grateful I am. It can't be denied that playing Kalkoot is fun. I hope you'll give it some serious consideration.

Very good
ajaysaho28 July 2023
The story's major topic deals with weighty societal concerns and is captivating because of it. Looking forward to seeing Vijay Verma in this role. He's put in a lot of time and effort. His performance elevates Kalkoot to must-see status. It's thrilling and unexpected in ways you wouldn't expect. It's fascinating to learn these details. It's only right to offer respect to the film's creators, stars, and writers. My favorite part of the narrative was all of the unexpected turns it took. I have no words for how happy that makes me. There's no denying that a game of kalkoot is a good time had by everybody. It's sure to pique your curiosity, I'm sure.

Suspense interesting and engaging storyline. Great series with lot of versatile actors.
prapatti8 August 2023
The Bollywood is not going down. The old actors who are saying themselves as stars are boring now a days. But the new actors are having great skills and those are reflected in web series. Great series and superb characters z. Each story in the series are beautifully crafted. Love for family, work, emotions, love, hate. It's difficult to present all types of feelings in short stories so neatly. Multiple learning like saving girl child. Love for the wife from a poet. The expression was mind blowing. Ending could have been better. The music, acting of the actress being on the bed without talking at all she has created a fantastic impression on viewers.

One of the best series i watched 💯
adityagamer-7326728 August 2023
Kaalkoot is a must-watch for anyone who loves crime dramas. It is a well-made and well-acted series that offers a thrilling and engaging experience. The series boasts of a stellar cast that delivers powerful performances. Vijay Varma is convincing as the honest and determined Ravi, who struggles to balance his duty and his family. Shweta Tripathi is impressive as Parul, the acid attack survivor who becomes Ravi's love interest. Seema Biswas is brilliant as Ravi's mother, who constantly pressures him to get married. Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Dutt, and Suzanna Mukherjee are also noteworthy in their respective roles.

And I learned how to respect women and give them respect.

TVF world collides with AK universe
london-fanboy28 February 2024
Inspired imitation is the highest form of compliment one can pay to the creator - someone.

This is the modified quote I cooked up to say that Kaalkoot is the compliment paid by the TVF world(Arunabh Kumar, Sumit Saxena, Gopal Dutt) to Anurag Kashyap(AK) universe. To take it even backwards, AK universe originated from Ram Gopal Varma(RGV) universe with the added spices of Indian mythology.

RGV (re?)started the trend of showing realistic violence in Indian cinema - both verbal and physical - as opposed to the typically prevalent artificial violence. While RGV focused on the gangsters of Mumbai and South India, AK & associates branched out and made it more north Indian and more mythological. Gulaal, Paatal Lok, Sacred games and what not.

In parallel we have the growth of TVF - by and for engineering college kids primarily. In TVF world - protagonist and most of the characters are highly likely to be upper caste Hindus - mostly Brahmin or Baniya. And that trend continues in Kaalkoot with Vijay Varma as a Brahmin. He also dons a backpack like a college/coaching student.

That aside, it is definitely worth a watch. I enjoyed all episodes except the last. And as usual for any web series, climax is very hard to get right.

Vijay Varma for me is Irrfan Khan reincarnate. He is the closest in terms of weaving the Irrfan magic. One complaint I had with Irrfan was that he departed too early. Here are my prayers for VV's long life as I don't want to miss what he will be able to conjure up in the next decades.

Some similarities with Paatal Lok are hard to miss. There Hathoda Tyagi's sisters underwent sexual violence and were teased with "Aapne jo taang uthakar di". Here Ravi's sister underwent similar violence and teased with "ek baar bhaiya ne zabardasti li phir usne marzi se di".

Even the name "Kaalkoot" reminds me of "Chitrakoot" where Hathoda tyhai hailed from. Then there is this song "Hum kya batayein bhaiya kaisi raat Hui" which reminds me of lyrics of "Sheher" from Gulaal - "Aye ek waqt ki baat bataye, Ek waqt ki, Jab sheher hamara so gayo tho, Wo raaj gajab ki".

And then the love interest of Ravi is a female with epilepsy issues who is willing to have sex with him to "get rid of all her fears" while the love interest of Sardar Khan in Wasseypur also had epilepsy and wanted to have sex to cure it.

So I would say Kaalkoot is a crossover between TVF and AK universe - and a good one. Reminds me of another crossover going on in Bollywood right now. For me Luv Ranjan is to Kartik Aaryan what Imtiaz Ali is to Ranbir Kapoor. Recently they switched sides. Imtiaz Ali did Love Aaj Kal with Kartik and Luv Ranjan did Tu Jhoothi main makkar with Ranbir. I didn't watch the former but later was a lot of fun.

Acting / Drama
deesaai1 August 2023
The series looks amazing, acting is best. But the way the police, the main character is shown it's not possible how the police or even someone who is in to civil service is.

They aren't that weak, but actor Vijay is shown very dumb, chomu type. In today's time and age no one is quite and dumb behaved.

I couldn't connect to that character

Overall good show. Sweta tripathi, natural and beautiful.

Yashpal Sharma amazing after so many years you see him and want to see him more.

All characters played their part well, cinematography and real location works in favour of the film.

The concept and message is quite nice but very few will learn or understand.

Only Vijay Varma is the saving grace of this horribly written series
sonyamin-888183 August 2023
Series is basically about a reluctant cop who investigates an acid attack on a young student. The story starts off great with elements of humour and foreboding suspense. From episode 5 the story gets sidetracked and it feels like the maker just wanted to show patriarchal system by throwing in foeticide and illegal abortions. These could have been separate storyline in itself. The romantic angle between Ravi and Shivani was not required; would have made more sense if he tried to get to know Parul (matrimonial alliance). The climax was horrible, last episode looked like some action scene from a south movie. Episode 8 feels stretched. Anyways there may not be any season 2 as the story is given a proper ending. This was disappointing considering Vijay Varma is one of the finest actors, but yes, if you like his work, watch this series only to witness his performance.

Amazing script, great acting...
rohitraheja-632487 August 2023
Step into a world where storytelling takes flight, as this captivating series weaves together a symphony of brilliant scripting, spellbinding acting, and a mesmerizing screenplay. It's a magnetic masterpiece that beckons you to press play, again and again, like an irresistible melody that never fades. With the brushstrokes of an artist, the essence of a quaint small town is painted in such vivid detail that you can almost feel the cobblestone streets beneath your feet and hear the whispers of secrets carried by the wind.

The female cast shines like constellations in the night sky, each delivering a performance that radiates strength and grace, leaving an indelible mark on the tapestry of the narrative. Amidst this constellation, the protagonist emerges, bearing a disfigured face that mirrors the depths of their character's journey. It's a portrayal that tugs at your heartstrings, a poignant reminder that beauty resides not in perfection, but in the raw and authentic emotions that emanate from within.

And then there's Vijay, a true celestial being of the screen, who effortlessly transforms into characters of all shades. With a mastery that leaves you in awe, he navigates the realms of both heroism and vulnerability, bringing life to roles that leave an indelible imprint on your memory. As the embodiment of the "good boy," he takes flight like a comet, leaving a trail of stardust that captivates and enchants.

In this mesmerizing tale, where every moment is a brushstroke of brilliance, Vijay finds his true calling in playing the role of the virtuous, and oh, how brilliantly it suits him. So, if you're in search of a cinematic constellation, where storytelling is an art and performance an orchestra, don't miss out on this celestial collision of talent and heart.

Thrilling, Suspense, Outstanding: Vijay Verma Rocked
deep-wadhwa835 August 2023
Would be bad if I only praise Vijay Verma for his performance.

Each character got a good role though I felt for Shweta Tripathi that she should have got more screen time but nevertheless it's a fantastic, entertaining, engaging, thriller and susepenful web series.

"Free main itni interesting web series dikhana will definitely attract audience towards Jio Cinema".

Performance from Gopal Dutt (mostly seen in TVF series) is also amazing. Great performance by Vijay Verma who lead the series brilliantly with his acting and performance.

Mostly with Indian web series everything goes great untill the ending where the climax one should expect to be better but this one has a decent ending.

Do watch it out of you haven't. It's a must watch web series.
