Lame by all standards

This movie was shot on a low budget which isn't always bad but the story was really poorly written. There is not a lot of action and the dialog seems forced. The characters aren't very engaging and many parts of the story are not believable or they don't take time to materialize.

The characters lacked depth and emotion and even the intimate scenes were bad. This is like a Lifetime movie made by Cinemax without any of the themes or good music or good cinematography.

The plot was very slow and I would have turned it off ten minutes in if I hadn't been distracted by work. The ending was extremely disappointing but I guess there wasn't a huge build up to the end so I guess I am not surprised.

Solid Thriller

Very good storyline and acting here. Definitely will be relatable to viewers. The climax has a hell of a twist. Wanted some of the sequences to be shorter and more dialog in the heated moments. I want to see and feel the emotion in the scene. You would expect a little overlapping argument in a movie like this but not much. Almost too quiet for the magnitude of the ending. I wanted more action! There are some holes in the story I want to be filled also. For instance, when did the police find the bodies. Was Candace or Joel questioned due to being acquaintances of the victims? I kind of wish Joel would have ended up with a totally different woman, not the co-worker. Made him seem easy. Just a single 40 something lady opinion here.

Solid Beginning, Cheap Ending

Everything was okay about this movie.

I did feel the chemistry between the character's played by Shi Smith and Jalen Moffitt. I didn't buy into Smith calling for Moffitt. She seemed out of his league.

The set design and editing were good. The dialogue was good. I think what was refreshing was to see an actual love story take place without drugs involved.

Now the ending...

It was okay but I didn't feel the need to go that route. Shi Smith killing everyone at the end was interesting but a bit of a stretch. A more realistic ending and I would have given this movie a 9.

If Jaron Lockridge is reading this, it would have been interesting to see Latrice Dominique's character get rid of Smith and Moffitt somehow.

For an independent project my wife and I thought it was great! The story line was really good i enjoyed the plot twist. I really enjoyed how the main character Joel handled his obstacles. Most folks would have crashed out. I loved how he ended up with the assistant coach at the end. She was the real woman which he deserved. Less is more. Awesome job cast and crew. The music was great as well. The production was amazing the lighting and shots were clean. I'm a Sag actor as well and I would love to apart of a film like this. I'm very inspired to make a film as well after viewing such a magnificent piece. God Bless.
