- Violet has come to ask Freddie and Stuart for advice: what to do about her broken heart regarding the recent split with her Hungarian boyfriend, Krzysztof, a person who they didn't even know existed and a situation (that she had a boyfriend) they find incredulous. Freddie isn't much help as he is preoccupied with an audition for a bit part - a one line, nameless, walk-on/walk-off role - on Downton Abbey (2010). He is so focused on acting in general, that he suggests to Ash that he may want to try it as he is feeling discontented with his current job working in a restaurant. Freddie even asks Ash to help him prepare - in reality over-prepare - for his audition by running "line". Despite Freddie getting this part, he goes into a deep depression when he learns that Ash is offered a film role, on what was his first audition. To get Freddie out of his funk, Stuart and Violet believe the easier and more effective tact is to work on Ash, namely to shoot down his confidence so that he will turn down the job.—Huggo
