The Nguyen Brothers are getting back together, writer-director Charlie and star Johnny teaming up for what is being billed as Vietnam's first ever road comedy, Young Teo. The Nguyen Brothers, of course, are best known for their first team up on martial arts film The Rebel while more recent action effort Bui Doi Cho Lon has made headlines for its difficulties in clearing censorship in their native Vietnam. But Charlie is a director known for his diversity and he's going for the laughs with his next effort, a film that will star Thai Hoa as a country boy on a bus trip between Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) to Sa Dec with Johnny Nguyen playing his unwilling travel partner. A couple of updates on a pair of highly anticipated Vietnamese movies today. First up is the official poster for Dustin Nguyen’s directorial debut, the very badass looking “Once Upon a Time in Vietnam” (aka “Lua Phat”), which will also star Nguyen: If you missed the teaser trailer for “Once Upon a Time in Vietnam”, you can rectify that by watching it here. Meanwhile, here’s a new poster for the Vietnamese gang actioner “Chinatown” (aka “Cho Lon”), which co-stars Johnny Nguyen, Dustin Nguyen’s (no relation) co-star from “The Rebel”, the film that really put Vietnamese action movies on the International map: The first trailer for “Chinatown” can be found here. In the meantime, check out a quick behind-the-scenes look at the film below: Both films are due out later this year in Vietnam. Stateside fans will probably have to wait for import DVDs in 2014 or thereabouts...

See that man with the knife? That's Johnny Nguyen, one of only two people on the face of the planet to have fought both Jet Li and Tony Jaa on screen. He's not only lived to tell the tale, he's also one of the most badass screen fighters in the world and has been steadily building a loyal following around the globe setting up shop in Vietnam and strutting his stuff there. The Rebel - directed by Nguyen's brother, Charlie - kicked things off, Clash proved it wasn't a fluke and now they're upping their game with Bui Doi Cho Lon.We ran the first fantastic trailer for this a few weeks back and now that has been followed with a behind the scenes reel that...

We're acolytes of Johnny Tri Nguyen's brand of ass-whupping here at Twitch, so any time new Nguyen footage appears, we are on it. The most recent film we've been tracking is his gangland martial arts film, Cho Lon, and there is finally some footage to go along with the amazing stills we've grabbed over the last couple of months. The film reunites the team behind The Rebel and Clash, namely director Charlie Nguyen and action star/choreographer Johnny Nguyen. With the massive success those films have had at home, and the inroads that they've built to the outside world who now knows to pay attention to Vietnamese action, I would expect Cho Lon to a solid film. The trailer thankfully showcases some drama to go along with...

Mark my words, international action fans: Keep your eyes on Vietnam. Fans have already taken notice of the output from the southeast Asian nation but 2013 should yield a handful of interesting titles, the most interesting of which are Charlie Nguyen's Cho Lon - check behind the scenes shots here - and Dustin Nguyen's Once Upon A Time In Vietnam.Previously known as Monk On Fire, Once Upon A Time In Vietnam has been a passion project of Nguyen's for years. And given the story revolves around supernaturally powered, motorbike riding, martial arts monks, there's a lot of things to feel passionate about.Nguyen is now just days away from completing principal photography and has released a number of behind the scenes shots via the film's Facebook...
