Yami Gautam’s Article 370 and Vidyut Jammwal’s Crakk arrived in the theaters on the same date. While people had high hopes for Vidyut’s action film, it was Yami who survived the clash. In fact, the political drama cemented its position quite literally at the box office.
On the other hand, Jammwal’s Crakk had a disastrous run at the box office. Now, after their theatrical verdicts, the two films are all set to rule the digital world, and hopefully, Vidyut’s film will redeem its status since he is loved on Ott.
This week, the theaters are beaming with light choices such as Vidya Balan’s Do Aur Do Pyaar and Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. Even children might enjoy the animation film Appu. But if you want to enjoy your weekends perfectly at home,...

All 15 Films Of Vidyut Jammwal’s Filmography Ranked & A Guide On Where To Watch Them. ( Photo Credit – IMDb/Youtube )
Vidyut Jammwal is undoubtedly one of the most loved action stars in the country. The testimony to this fact is his filmography, which might have been full of flops, but the reason for these flops has been inflated budgets of his films since all of them have churned out some decent numbers at the box office, proving that he has a loyal fan base in this country.
Vidyut made his film debut with Force as an antagonist, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that he was the most talked about star of the film that year. In the right sense, he literally swept John Abraham’s stardom off his feet, stealing his thunder.

The Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha starrer Bullett Raja that released three years ago has now become a matter of concern for Tigmanshu Dhulia and co-producer Rahul Mitra. The film, which tanked at the box office, seems to have created problem between Dhulia- Mitra and the workers who were involved in the film. Producers Tigmanshu Dhulia and Rahul Mitra have been accused of non-payment of dues by the unit hands who worked for the film. We also hear that labourers have threatened to disrupt the shooting of Tigmanshu's upcoming film if the payments aren't made. It is being said that the labourers decided to seek the help of Fwice (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and the federation also issued a non-cooperation notice against Dhulia and Mitra over the matter. When the said payment wasn't made even after the same, the workers threatened Dhulia to stop the shoot of his upcoming film in July.

It was predicted in this column last week that Phantom would take an opening in the same range as Badlapur (7 crore) and Drishyam (8 crore). As it turned out though, the Kabir Khan directed film had a slightly better Friday, as it went on to bring in 8.5 crore at the Box Office. This was indeed a positive outcome for Saif Ali Khan since his last couple of solo starrers, Happy Ending (4 crore) and Bullett Raja (7.5 crore) had met with a poor fate. In comparison, the word of mouth as well as critical appreciation was better as well, which helped the Sajid Nadiadwala production grow further over the weekend.
This was evidenced in collections that jumped further on Saturday (12.78 crore), which was also a holiday due to Raksha Bandhan, and then Sunday (13 crore*), as a result of which Phantom managed to bring in around 34 crore. Now this is a heartening sign for...

More than two years after Cocktail, Saif Ali Khan is returning in a zone where he is loved most. In this light hearted set up where he can pretty much afford to be himself, Saif has the stage set for himself. This means that he can be assured of a decent enough footfalls at the least. While it is expected that the opening would be arund 50% mark, that would be good enough for the film to grow as a genre like Happy Ending can see rapid escalation over the weekend, as urban crowds settle into multiplexes.
Cocktail had taken an opening of over 35 crore and even with a 30 crore start, Happy Ending would have reasons to celebrate as it is a solo release, and hence can stay stable on the weekdays as well. After all, Saif’s another solo release Bullett Raja hadn’t done wonders and though Race 2...

While Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor won hearts with their onscreen chemistry in Mohit Suri's Aashiqui 2, they are all set to recreate the same with Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies. The film which was on hold after many actors walked out of the project, has finally found the leads in Aditya and Shraddha. Prior to this, the original casting decision was to bring together the duo of Imran Khan and Priyanka Chopra. However, Imran Khan walked out of the film owing to his differences with Ekta Kapoor after the Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara! debacle and later, Priyanka Chopra too decided to quit the film. Post that, Shahid Kapoor was taken on board and later, Tigmanshu Dhulia even confirmed Varun Dhawan's presence during an interview after the release of Saif Ali Khan - Sonakshi starrer Bullett Raja. However, it seems none of these associations seem to have worked out.

‘Humshakals’ has brought in moolah and what makes it special is the fact that footfalls have come in despite the worst hammering ever for a Bollywood flick. After a good weekend, the film had decent collections in the weekdays, hence resulting in around 56 crore coming in.
With the film managing to bring in audience in the most adverse of critical response, one does wonder whether collections would have been better had the backlash not been to this effect. Nevertheless, for all involved, this has turned out to be a plus outing even as they move on to their next. Saif Ali Khan, Sajid Khan and Tamannaah Bhatia can well leave behind the disappointment of ‘Bullett Raja’ and ‘Himmatwala’ whereas for Riteish Deshmukh, there has been some good all around appreciation. Esha Gupta has another film of hers collect well after ‘Raaz 3′.

While all the shooting of debutant director Syed Ahmed Afzal's Youngistaan featuring Jackky Bhagnani as a young dynamic prime minister is nearly complete, one crucial sequence remains to be filmed.
It's a scene featuring Shah Rukh Khan. An integral part of the script, the scene was written into the plot from its inception. Apparently the film's prime-minister protagonist's girlfriend, played by Neha Sharma, is a diehard Shah Rukh Khan fan.
The scene requires the very dynamic prime minister to arrange a quiet surprise meeting between his girlfriend and her celluloid crush.
In fact the scene to feature Jackky, Neha, and Jackky's screen-mentor Farooq Sheikh was shot without Shah Rukh just before Farooq's death.

Mumbai, Dec 10: Comparisons between "Bullett Raja" and "R...Rajkumar" have been doing the rounds ever since the release of the two films was announced on two successive Fridays. But Prabhudheva and Tigmanshu Dhulia feel the comparisons are not only odious, they are also uncalled for.
While Saif Ali Khan starrer "Bullett Raja" came out on Nov 29, Shahid Kapoor's "R...Raajkumar" was released on Dec 6 and none could do wonders at the box office.
The comparisons were drawn due to the similarities like both the films are crime drama with a good dose of romance, the protagonists are ruffians, and the plots are based in the small town. In both films Sonakshi Sinha has played the female lead.
Said the choreographer-director:.

As the day inches closer, the audience and industry await perhaps the biggest extravaganza of the year, Yash Raj Films' Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif starrer, Dhoom 3, with the box-office scenario going through a very dull phase. After one blockbuster Krrish 3 and a hit, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela, which released on 15th November, all the films which came afterwards have underperformed. She was given the title of 'Saunkashi' Sinha after the blockbuster success of both her films, Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore, which was followed by Son Of Sardaar and Dabangg 2 (all in the 100 crore club). However, the year 2013 has been rather unlucky for Sonakshi as she has appeared in as many as three films, Lootera, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara and Bullett Raja (still running), and all have disappointed/underperformed at the box-office. And even though her item numbers in...

Sonakshi Sinha’s currently on a roll at the moment, following the average success of Ouatimd, she had two films releasing within two weeks Bullett Raja (opposite Saif Ali Khan) and R..Rajkumar (opposite Shahid Kapoor).
Her latest release R..Rajkumar sees her sharing the screen with the talented Shahid Kapoor, so what does she make of her newest co-star? “Shahid is the most dedicated actor I’ve met. He completes 10 years in the industry this year, but still shows the same kind of enthusiasm and sincerity.”
“He’d spend the entire day shooting, doing some hardcore action, performing challenging choreography, getting injured and then, at night, he’d still hit the gym!”
Sonakshi has starred in action films before, so what made her go for this one? “Prabhu sir (Deva) had told me about this film while we were shooting for Rowdy Rathore. I loved the story and immediately...

Tigmanshu Dhulia's Bullett Raja has opened to mixed responses. For those who feel this avant-garde director should not have swerved away from his trademark style, Tigmanshu has more of the same unexpected cinema coming up. Says the director, "I am sorry to say I've become a victim of my own image. People expect me to make the same kind of cinema over and over again. I'd die of boredom if I keep making dacoit films and Paan Singh Tomars throughout my career. I need to expand my horizon. And the audience needs to appreciate that effort to grow." Tigmanshu says he was initially disappointed by the collections. "I don't know why Saif Ali Khan's fans didn't turn up for the film when it opened. He has proven himself recently in a solo-hero film Cocktail. Maybe his fans like to see him play the urbane cool dude. But if you ask me,...

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is poised to enter the top 10 biggest sellers of 2013, with The Hobbit: The Desolation posing its greatest end-of-year threat

Following its sensational debut the previous weekend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire had no problem hanging on to the top spot, with a gross (£5.53m) more than triple its nearest rival, Gravity, with £1.74m. The drop for Catching Fire – down 46% – will be considered respectable, given the huge anticipation for the film, which saw fans rush to see it on opening weekend. The original Hunger Games fell only 33% in its second frame, but declining revenue curves for sequels are invariably steeper. Last November, the final Twilight dropped 66% in its second session.
After 11 days, Catching Fire has reached an impressive £21.7m in the UK, which is only two million behind the lifetime tally for The Hunger Games...

With R... Rajkumar just around the corner, Prabhu Dheva has a lot to be concerned about. Not the least of his worries is his leading lady Sonakshi Sinha's double whammy on two Fridays which has the audiences thoroughly confused. Not only do Tigmanshu Dhulia's Bullett Raja and Prabhu Dheva's R... Rajkumar release on two consecutive Fridays, they also feature the same leading lady and wear a visually similar look. Sonakshi has been struggling to keep the promotional pitch for both films different from one another. But the overlapping has done its damage. Her comments on the two films are interchangeable. There were always doubts around whether Bullett Raja would indeed take a rollicking start at the box office. As hinted in this column last week, rejection of many ‘masala’ movies in the last few weeks and absence of chartbuster songs in ‘Bullett Raja’ were always expected to be hindrance for the Saif Ali Khan starrer. Still, a start of 40%-50% was still expected at the bare minimum.
Now this is the sad part because the footfalls on the opening day were only half of these minimal expectations. With just around 25%-30% opening, the writing was clear on the wall that for this Tigmanshu Dhulia film to succeed at the box office, word of mouth as well as reviews had to be nothing less than terrific. This didn’t really turn out to be the case though since reviews were largely average to good while word of mouth too was on the same lines.

Fox Star Studio India’s latest hi-octane action-entertainer, Bullett Raja has already gained momentum amongst leading film critics of the country who have acclaimed the film to be innovative with ground-breaking concepts!
The promos of the film had already stirred a buzz with power-packed dialogues and bold performance snap shots that had the viewers anticipating for more until its release date tomorrow, 29th November. The film has been described to magnetise the Indian audiences with spanking new combinations of unexplored trails which have been successfully experimented and implemented by the makers of the film.
Bullett Raja claims to be pragmatic just like Tigmanshu Dhulia’s previous endeavors, designed with a rustic connotation showcasing the portrayal of a raw, unrefined and harsh template yet keeping it legitimate and totally justifiable. The dialogues and screenplay keep the viewers enveloped into the proceedings of the film with some very unexpected twists and turns towards the penultimate moments.

Film fans are in for a real treat with the new Saif Ali Khan starrer Bullett Raja as it has been revealed that the dramatic action sequences in the film have been shot at real locations in India, including the historic Hazratganj in Lucknow.
The city of Lucknow came to a standstill as besotted fans tried to catch a glimpse of their idol Saif Ali Khan as he filmed scenes from the eagerly awaited action entertainer. With such high octane stunts, including a thrilling chase down the traffic-gridlocked main road, it became necessary for the crew to obtain special permission from the city’s police to film in the vicinity and to avoid complete meltdown by the thousands of fans who thronged the area to see Saif Ali Khan. It is claimed that at one point, Saif had to stop the shoot and ask fans to calm down, so that he could resume.

As a south filmgoer and Bollywood naach-gaana fanatic, masala fest movies are not new to me. Yet even when a film has all the trimmings of a throwback action film, there are guarantees it will work. Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala is testimony to that. Tigmanshu Dhulia is stepping into the commercial arena with Bullet Raja starring Saif Ali Khan, Jimmy Shergill and Sonakshi Sinha. The intention is to make a masala topped entertainer. The result is a film that throws at you every known cliche possible while bringing back some of the Dhulia style.
Raja (Saif Ali Khan) aka Bullet Raja and his best bud Rudra (Jimmy Shergill) lead this rise of a commoner to become a dreaded gangster with the love angle covered by Mitali played by Sonakshi Sinha. But for every rise, there is a fall and that’s where Sharp Shooter-come-local law enforcement Inspector (Vidyut Jamwal) comes in.

An arthouse fishing-trawler documentary sounds like a practical joke, but this takes us to places we've never before – into the ocean depths and back out on to the decks with the catch. It's a series of dark, semi-abstract tableaux full of flapping fish, clanking machinery and tattooed fishermen doing wet, gory work. It's easy to forget this is real life you're watching.

This Friday's new release, the Tigmanshu Dhulia directed Saif-Sonakshi starrer, Bullett Raja, was off to a mixed start. While the opening can be termed as good at the single screens of many stations of the Hindi belt (MP, Up and Bihar), places like Pune, Mumbai city and Mysore circuit were plain ordinary, specially the multiplexes. The masala-quotient in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Bullett Raja has gone up, A new mast-mast massy song 'Jai Govinda Jai Gopala' sung by Wajid, one of the composer duo Sajid-Wajid, has been added on at the last minute to the film. The last-minute inclusion of the song led to a critical final-hour delay in the dispatch of prints to overseas and non-overseas centers which had the producers Fox Star biting their nails in suspense.
But Tigmanshu was adamant.
When asked why he insisted on the last-minute inclusion of a song, the director said, "It has been added to the end-credits.
