Even if you’re not into food, you probably know who David Chang is. The Korean American chef behind the Momofuku empire of restaurants arrived on the scene in New York in 2004, both middle fingers raised to anything that represented the establishment. He made rakish beauty of the humble pork bun and ramen in a minimalist East Village space that was soon imitated around the world. Chang didn’t invent the cliché of the bad-boy chef, but he checked off plenty of the key qualities: He cursed a blue streak in interviews.

Welcome to an April that’s sure to be unlike any other. Usually this time of year means getting outdoors in the nice weather or catching a baseball game or two. Obviously 2020 had different plans for us all. Now Amazon Prime has unveiled its new releases for April 2020 to give us an idea of what indoor entertainment options we have.
April 2020 is pretty thin on original series for Amazon Prime. Thankfully two of the few launches are big ones. Sci-fi anthology series Tales from the Loop launches on April 3 and looks to be quite bingeable. Amazon Prime is no stranger to sci-fi anthologies thanks to Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams but this one seems to kick it up a notch. Arriving on April 17 is the sixth season of Bosch as well.

With each month that passes, Netflix subscribers brace for a new wave of content – movies, TV shows, binge-worthy Netflix Originals… that kind of thing.
But in order to make way for that fresh deluge of entertainment, the streaming service sheds a number of titles, and February 2020 is no different. So as subscribers prepare themselves for Altered Carbon season 2 and Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, they must also bid farewell to the likes of District 9, Gangs of New York and The Matrix Trilogy. Though surely the first Matrix film is the only one worthy of a goodbye. The sequels? Not so much.
Horror fans will be forced to bid adieu to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, too, while much of the Jeopardy! series will be leaving the Netflix service on February 27th. It’s part and parcel of the company’s ‘revolving door’ approach to content; as new material is added...

Prepare for another inside look into the art, science, and philosophy of design for the world that we take for granted around us. Scott Dadich and Morgan Neville’s “Abstract: The Art of Design” is returning for a second season on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
The series lets the designers themselves offer insight into how they first conceive of and then execute their visions in a variety of disciplines. In Season 1, the series examined craftspeople ranging from illustrator Christoph Niemannn and Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield to stage designer Es Devlin and graphic designer Paula Scher.
In its review of Season 1, IndieWire said, “There’s real excitement in hearing a creator explain his inspirations, when it’s done right — and that’s something ‘Abstract’ is rich with. You never know, after all, where a great idea might come from…It is fascinating to see this sort of focus applied to the creation...

Now more than ever, the odds of knowing some celebrity chef are high: Martha Stewart, Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali, Emeril Lagasse, and more, just to name a few. With channels such as Food Network and shows like Ace of Cakes or Lidia’s Italy, of course it wouldn’t be the least bit shocking to hear people talking of some of their favorite chefs and what they made on last night’s episode.
But what about those famous chefs who don’t have shows, yet still are celebrities in themselves? Jeremiah Tower: The Last Magnificent covers just that, the life of a well known and surely controversial chef named Jeremiah Tower, who went on to develop the whole style of “California Cuisine” as well as open his own set of restaurants called Stars in San Francisco.

It's the most delicious thing I've ever eaten.
Do you have a problem with food? And when I say problem, I mean addiction. You might not want to eat it, but you're dying to put your head down next to a chopping block just so you can focus entirely on that thing being sliced quickly and with determination. Maybe you like the supple resistance of a tender slab of meat being slowly sliced to hunky pieces. You also have some vague sense that you might actually try to cook something yourself--not really, but a veneer of instruction would be nice. But it's not all about the food. There's an emotional element to it. You want to connect, not some flash in the pan romance. Well, get into the mind of April Bloomfield, a chef, with PBS's The Mind of a Chef: April Bloomfield brought to you by PBS in...
