It’s quite rare for actors to grow up on screen, but Farida Jalal is one such actor who has portrayed an array of characters in the space of the hero’s sister, a mother, and now a grandmother.
While Hollywood has Leonardo DiCaprio, who started his career at the age of 17, India has Rishi Kapoor, Kamal Haasan, Sridevi, and Farida Jalal. All of their careers are textbooks in cinematic longevity.
Farida started her journey at 17 with the film ‘Taqdeer’, a role offered to her by Tarachand Barjatya, grandfather of Sooraj Barjatya. How she was offered her first role has a story of its own, something that rarely happens to artistes. She was a part of the United Film Producers Talent Hunt, which she went on to win, where her co-finalist happened to be the first superstar of Hindi cinema, Rajesh Khanna.

The ‘Nath-Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani’ fame actress Anupama Solanki shared that TV industry has become more backward compared to the 90’s, adding that there are more than 100 serials, which is making the industry a “disaster”.
Anupama said: “It’s an honour for me to be a TV actor because people are influenced by the medium and sometimes people love us and sometimes they hate us too because of the characters we play. I feel fortunate that we influence the world and it’s a big opportunity and responsibility to guide our society.”
“I have been addicted to TV dramas since childhood so I have observed the TV industry very closely and TV serials, but honestly I feel the TV industry has become more backward compared to the 90’s. These days we are showing in a TV series that we are going to the moon on a scooter. I was shocked to see that scene,...

Quite simply, this is your show if you were missing Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, or Dekh Bhai Dekh, or Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai.
Rohan Sippy's Sandwiched Forever brings back an era of sitcoms that you would think got buried somewhere beneath loud family melodrama and toxic reality TV. The show harks back to a time when fun on the tube was a lazy deal, about simplistic characters playing out the simplified quirks of life in a feel-good set-up, with canned laughter for impact.
This is the story of Naina (Aahana Kumra) and Sameer (Kunaal Roy Kapoor), a young couple starting out in life. It's ‘opposites attract' for the two, actually -- Naina, feisty and full of life, would seem like the perfect foil for her absent-minded and admittedly lazy other half Sameer, a game developer.
Naina and Sameer are very much in love, but their woe lies elsewhere - their parents,...

Ramayan, Circus, and Mahabharat have made a comeback on screen, and we are loving it. Here are the other shows which these TV actors wish would come back.
Amrita Prakash:?I think we had some beautiful shows on television in the 90s. There are some wonderful shows that I have grown up watching and performing in, which influenced me as a performer and a person.
I feel blessed to have been part of television during its golden age, in the late 90s and early 2000s- with shows like 'Rishtey' and 'star bestsellers' - which were completely story-centric. As opposed to the Trp-centric storyline we have today, back then every story was spun and told so beautifully, with performances that moved the soul. How I wish we would only bring back these shows to re watch but also to remake. I miss being a part of that wondrous era in Indian television.
