"The Big Bang Theory: It All Started with a Big Bang" is a British 24-minute documentary from 2012 and as the title already states this one is all the famous American television series "The Big Bang Theory". As somebody who has seen 7 seasons of this long-running show by now, I must say this was a pretty good watch. I liked the host Rick Edwards and how he never tried to take any attention away from the subject. It was also a good idea to have him interview the actors in the rooms of the series. And about these interviews, it was fun to see and hear the actors and how different they were compared to their pretty much always (for all 6 of them) career-defining characters, in terms of looks and voices especially. Maybe early on the interviews weren't that insightful with Nayyar for example stating on one occasion that he plays an Indian character that can't talk to women and that is something every TBBT viewer knows of course. But it gets more insightful eventually when we find out about their favorite scenes and lets not forget that maybe the obvious parts are for attracting new audiences perhaps which somehow justifies them too. And this documentary could attract many new viewers. I wouldn't be surprised because basically every scene they chose to include here was downright hilarious and while I know the show has many critics too, I personally think it is absolutely funny on many many occasions and I hope it stays that way after season 7, even if there was admittedly a slight decrease in quality already there. Anyway, back to this one here. The host was right in saying to the next 100 episodes as this was made around season 4 or 5 when they reached the 100 and with what we know now, the 300 seems very possible too. This little special here made me interested in watching some TBBT again and I think it was really well-executed. A must-see for fans of the show and a good watch for everybody who is still not sure if he wants to get into it. Huge thumbs-up from me, especially for the second 12 minutes.
