In this, the final episode of 'Cenk Batu', it looks as if it is the end of the road for our undercover protagonist; he is holding a gun to a man's head as heavily armed police order him to drop his weapon; we then see how he got to this point. Cenk is sent to work at a bank to uncover some shady financial dealings but gets caught up in something bigger when he is identified by a woman known only as 'Valerie'; she is an emotionless killer who hadn't been seen for over twenty years and know she plans to use Cenk to help commit her most high profile assassination. She kidnaps his pregnant girlfriend, Gloria, and tells Cenk that she will kill her if he doesn't kill the Chancellor! He is convinced that there must be a mole in the police as Valerie knows about all of his past cases as well as everything that happens in his current investigation as soon as it happens. Cenk tries to find Gloria before it is too late but ultimately it looks as though he will have to decide whether to try to kill the chancellor or let Gloria die
all of which leads us to where the episode opened.
This episode was somewhat far-fetched but that didn't matter as it was so exciting; knowing that there are no more episodes of 'Cenk Batu' meant that all bets were off regarding his ultimate fate the opening scenes certainly suggested that in might not end well. Having villainous bankers who revel in profiting at the little people's expense was cliché enough even before it becomes apparent that they know about the plot and look forward to profiting when the economy crashes; the scene where they goad Uwe was almost comical. Still despite this I continued to enjoy the story as it became more like a thriller than a cop show. Mehmet Kurtulus did a great job showing us Cenk's inner conflict as he must operate outside the law and decide what to do; this is nicely contrasted with Corinna Harfouch's performance as the ice-cold Valerie. The rest of the cast are pretty good too. Overall I really enjoyed this episode despite its clichés; it is just a pity that it is unlikely that there will be any more 'Cenk Batu'.
