(TV Mini Series)

(2012)

Patrick Rapold: Yves Biau

Quotes

  • Paul Authie : Stealing ancient artifacts is a serious criminal offense.

Alice Tanner : I know that.

Paul Authie : So? Stop telling lies.

    Alice Tanner : I haven't lied.

Paul Authie : You claim to have discovered a ring in the cave, but no ring has been found. No one else has seen this mysterious ring, so we have two options. Either you were mistaken, or you took it. Which is it?

Alice Tanner : Why would I mention it at all if I was going to steal it? And Shelagh will back me up. Ask her.

Paul Authie : She says she knows nothing of any ring.

Alice Tanner : I told her all about it. She went into the cave herself.

Paul Authie : She went into the cave?

Alice Tanner : Yes, she did.

Paul Authie : Your bag, please.

    Yves Biau : What?

Paul Authie : [grabbing her purse before she can reach it, he empties the contents]  Search her.

Alice Tanner : You have no right to search me.

    Yves Biau : She's right. Let's go. Let's go!

    [leaving]

Yves Biau : You shouldn't talk to her like that. You shouldn't even be here.

Paul Authie : If I want your opinion, Biau, I'll ask for it. Remember who you really work for.

  • Yves Biau : I am Detective Yves Biau. This is Monsieur Paul Authie, a lawyer from Carcassonne. We have some questions. I understand you're not a professional archaeologist?

Alice Tanner : I'm a teacher. Shelagh O'Donnell's an old friend. She invited me to join the dig for a few days.

Yves Biau : So, you're on holiday.

Alice Tanner : Uh, no, not exactly. A relative in Carcassonne left me a few things in her will, but I wanted to come here first.

    Paul Authie : What things?

Alice Tanner : I don't know yet. I'm seeing the lawyer tomorrow.

Paul Authie : Most people would be curious to discover their inheritance, yet you waste your time here first. Why?

Alice Tanner : The lawyer's been away, and I don't consider my time here wasted.

Paul Authie : Or is the truth that you have a particular reason for being here?

Alice Tanner : If you must know, I've just had a really bad breakup with my boyfriend, and I wanted to get away for a while.

Paul Authie : I am not interested in your personal life, Madamoiselle Tanner.

Alice Tanner : Might I ask what your role is in this investigation, then?

Paul Authie : No, you may not. Just answer my questions, please.

  • Yves Biau : The cave has been found.

Audric Baillard : Yes. I know.

Yves Biau : There were two skeletons inside.

Audric Baillard : And what else?

Yves Biau : There was no sign of the books. I saw it for myself.

Audric Baillard : And the ring?

Yves Biau : I just sent it to you.

Audric Baillard : Thank you, Yves. I promise you're doing the right thing.

Yves Biau : I'm getting closer to the Noublesso. I have someone on the inside now.

Audric Baillard : Be careful. Marie-Cecile de L'Oradore has friends everywhere, including high up in the police.

Yves Biau : Listen, Audric. The woman who discovered the cave, her name is Alice Tanner. Grace's niece. I had to give her Marie-Cecile's name. They expect me to deliver her. If I don't, I blow my cover. But don't worry, she's under surveillance...

    [he's struck by a car]

Audric Baillard : Yves? Yves, are you there?

  • Yves Biau : Mademoiselle Tanner. This is the private address and phone number of Marie-Cecile de L'Oradore. She knows your friend Shelagh well. Tell her everything about the cave. She will explain. And don't trust anyone else. Not even the police.
