Sex & Nudity

  • There is no visible nudity; however, sexual acts are implied, seen and heard. In one more explicit scene, your character enters a brothel and can see a woman performing fellatio (this can be avoided); moaning ensues.
  • Women are seen wearing almost nothing; but, again, there is no nudity.
  • Characters discuss sex in a mild manner.

Violence & Gore

  • There is a lot of violence and gore in this game. Blood continually splatters everywhere, limbs are everywhere, The Darkness (the monster that controls you) can eat hearts and heads to replenish health, in addition to simply tearing people to bits.
  • Dual weapons take gun violence to an extreme; you can shoot everyone, blood splatter is prominent. People will sometimes urinate on dead bodies.

Profanity

  • F*ck is spoken over 100 times in game.
  • Sh*t is spoken a little bit less, but is not rare. Something like 50 times.
  • Mild profanity is used often. You can expect to hear things like: damn, ass, d*ck, b*tch, etc..
  • While the Darkness is extremely profane, also keep in mind that this profanity is spread across a much longer game than a typical R-rated movie.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Mike Patton's voice work on The Darkness (the monster itself) is absolutely stunning and terrifying!!! And the scary part is that there are no effects used at all. He can do that voice naturally! All things told, the game itself is very dark and intense. Be ready to experience something very gloomy, violent and epic!
