- An eye witness account and identification of a car links a youth called Lee Ness to the farm shop murders but he claims not to know the Wraith. Tom Byrne, recently widowed, and Nikki, who has just lost her father, develop a rapport whilst interviewing the parents of another supposed victim of the Wraith, who have their own views on the murderer's identity. A discrepancy in the findings of the Wraith's DNA at different crime scenes leads Harry to take samples from a rival laboratory. The result reveals an elaborately plotted revenge scenario to punish the police for the deaths of Mary and Lizzie.—don @ minifie-1
- Nikki Alexander has been assigned to work with Det. Supt. Tom Byrne on the serial killer case. She notes that the Wraith has used a great many ways to dispose of her victim - shooting, stabbing, strangulation etc... Harry and DI James continue to map out their own interpretation of events at the farm murders and cannot reconcile the evidence they have from the farm with their own evidence that suggests the killings were the work of a single male. The presence of the Wraith's DNA is simply out of place. Harry can only conclude that the private lab where much of the work was done contaminated the sample. The doesn't sit well with Leo as it's the same lab where his recently deceased friend Lizzie worked. The solution is far more elaborate that a simple lab error.—garykmcd
