The reality ends in this fine series

Warning: Spoilers
I came across a revealing article about The Edwardian Country House, featuring an interview with Dr Avril Anson ("Miss Avril" to us viewers). It's in the Sydney Morning Herald - you can Google it.

Towards the end of the final episode of Edwardian Country House, you see Dr Avril Anson ("Miss Avril" to us viewers) driving off in a red sports car after reality wraps up. But it turns out Avril didn't own the car, and she only had use of it for about 30 minutes.

Then, much to the surprise of the "downstairs staff", Dr Anson returned dressed in modern clothes to say thank you to all the staff, something which the staff were excited about. This of course wasn't filmed, but good to know Dr Anson appreciated the services of all the folk playing the servants.

Dr Anson also noted that as the series progressed, she increasingly grew apart from her sister Dr Anna Olliff-Cooper, noting that:

"It was my brother-in-law (John Olliff-Cooper) and my sister's view that I was a woman, I was unmarried and I had no children, and was therefore, in Edwardian terms, a failure. I would not have had my PhD, because in those days I wouldn't have been educated to that level. This was the shock of my life."

I miss this series, and maybe it can be rebooted.
