It's got so many layers of craziness and nuanced details that only someone who's seen every Tyler Perry movie five or six times can truly appreciate.
There are some really funny moments, especially between the main character and their sibling. A lot of the additional characters were hilarious as well. It really works better if you think about it as a sketch comedy show rather than a traditional movie with a straightforward plot. As a friend of mine put it, "It's not a great movie, but it's definitely a great time! I enjoyed it!"
Also, there are a lot of cultural references and jokes that non-Tyler Perry fans might miss. I think Johnny Mack really understands the genre because he must've seen these movies hundreds of times to bring in so much detail and in-depth analysis to the different scenes and their setups.
