Leaning heavily into nostalgia

I'll start by saying I believe Lizzo is obviously a very talented individual. She gave it 100% all episode long.

The content of many of the skits felt a little flat this week. The "Mr. Six" skit was bizarre but pretty good, however one-note the joke itself was. The game show skit went absolutely no where, boring, and everything after Weekend Update were misses

This episode included jokes about Six Flags 2000's commercials, Beanie Babies, the 2009 Black Eyed Peas (very random), and Mario.

Other than the once-a-week cold-open arbitrary political skit nothing on this show is topical anymore, which is very odd considering every day on Earth is a never-ending firehouse spout of breaking news, a hellhole of bad news....ok maybe I do get why they're going nostalgia.

Btw is Pete Davidson still a cast member?

Despite the fatphobic racist reviewers over here, i LOVED to see that Lizzo killing it this episode while living her best time on this episode! She literally swept this episode and left no crumbs! Special shoutout for Sarah Sherman- Andrew Dismukes and Ego Nwodim they literally cracking me up especially in this episode!

Not a fan

I love SNL and I love it when an actor occasionally breaks character but Lizzo was not good and just busted out laughing all the time. She is very positive and happy but she is not good at live acting. It was too much.

I'm not a huge fan of hers anyway but I really think she should have just been the musical guest.

Truly, I'd give this episode an 8/10. Rating higher in the hopes of skewing the overall score bc damn y'all are crazy thinking Lizzo deserves less than a 7/10??? Truly bonkers.

Disppointing

I love SNL but this episode was disappointing. Sometimes the musical guest should just be the musical guest. I'm not necessarily a fan of her music but I still think she's a solid musical performer. What she isn't is an actor, comedian, or sketch performer. Probably would have turned out much better with a different host, Lizzo as the musical guest, and still have Lizzo assist in one or two of the music inspired sketches.

Worst episode ever!

This was the worst episode ever, and not due to Lizzo. She was cute, and did okay. But the sketches were just so dumb. Not even satirical. I did laugh at the Beanie Babies, as my son had over 500 in the late 90s and early aughts. But the Six Flags thing was hugely embarassing. And going way back with Black Eyed Peas? That's the best they could do?

I just wanted it all to get over.

Game host let down by bad writing

Lizzo is great but the writing let her down here. She even got let down by the bad sound mix in her performances. Sad to see so many performers let down by lazy writing.

Not funny, not an actress... the score here and on Rotten tomatoes speak for themselves.

Makes up for her lack of talent with Foul mouth.

I use to watch this show with my childreen and this lady just made us regreat it.

Few laughs, and Lizzo is NOT an actress nor is she a comedian. Probably worst show since Kardashian.

Enough! Start using actors and comedians as the hosts! There are many talented ones that have never hosted and are more deserving than Lizzo, Kim K, Elon Musk, etc.

Possibly the worst episode in over 20 years

That's not Lizzo's fault, though. Her musical performances were both high-effort and I'm sure she sounded great, but SNL just literally can't let an artist sound good, and this time it felt like they didn't care if we could hear her at all. Like was her mic even on?

Anyway, she seemed ready for anything even though she broke in most sketches (I'm guessing she was just uncomfortable because lord knows there was nothing to laugh at.) I guess a bunch of crew and writers went home for Easter or something, because the previous episode was possibly the best written of the whole season, and this one was like SHOCKingly bad. I feel sad for Lizzo because she deserved to be in at least one memorable sketch. The only thing that came close to getting over was Please Don't Destroy, who I'm not generally impressed by, and even their segment went downhill after like a minute. Yikes.

Episode barely earned 1 star from me, but Lizzo deserves better.

Just Terrible

Terrible skits and writing. It was almost like they didn't know where to go with Lizzo. Lizzo was out of her depth and should have just played to her strengths by performing her music.

First of all Lizzo is terrible. Music awful. Comedy no. I think the only reason why she was there was to bring young people to watch her be out there. SNL has had bad hosts,but she was probably one of the worst ones SNL has done. No talent. Not funny and just overall 0/10.
