Before Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Vs Maidaan Box Office Clash: 5 Huge Eid Battles That Did Not Happen (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is releasing on Eid 2024, and while the film was enjoying a solo release date till a week back, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has dropped in to occupy the same release date. The two superstars will now lock horns at the box office for the 9th time in their career.
However, while the two films are ready to clash at Eid, which might affect each other, the festival release date is the most sought-after date in Bollywood. Generally, it has been Salman Khan who has always ruled the Eid release date almost every year.
Even in 2023, Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was released on Eid. However, this year, while Bhaijaan is taking a sabbatical, Eid was a major opportunity to tap on.

Mumbai, June 28: What did actor Imran Khan learn from the sets of "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara"? The way his co-star Akshay Kumar handled any distractions on the set.
"What I learnt from Akshay is that sometimes odd things start happening while shooting... a prop falls down or someone's phone rings... there are a hundred distractions.

Imran Khan essays a Muslim character for the first time in the forthcoming Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara. Conventionally seen as an urban lover boy in his earlier films, his first-ever mass role of Aslam promises to make him as much a favorite in the Muslim community as his uncle (Aamir).
The actor will sport a Firoza, a blue stone that Salman Khan has been wearing for three years now. While Salman wears his Firoza embedded in a silver bracelet, Imran will wear it in a different form.
Wearing the Firoza stone is holy among Muslims and Imran feels good about owning one now. He is believed to have sourced it from Bhopal, his hometown.
Set in the 1980s, the actor in some scenes in the film, he will even be seen in a Pathani suit.

Akshay Kumar created mass frenzy at Birmingham last Friday. However, throwing a stunner this year, distributors and exhibitors in Pakistan have apparently decided to abandon the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express and the Akshay Kumar starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, reasoning that Pakistani filmmakers want their films to gain more prominence this Eid. If this new ruling holds water, it may just cut off a major share of revenue for the respective film's producers. Commenting on the same, Tanuj Garg- CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures, says, "Though we have not yet received any official notification from the Pakistani authorities, if this is true, it will surely be really sad. In fact I feel that this is really amazing and bizarre that an industry that thrives on Bollywood films can take such a decision. If you...

New Delhi, April 8: As a general rule Akshay Kumar doesn't work on a Sunday, but he broke it to finish shooting of Milan Luthria's "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2".
Seven years ago the 45-year-old, also known as Khiladi Kumar, decided that he will not work on a Sunday and devote it to his family.
Last time Akshay worked on a Sunday was when he was shooting for Priyadarshan's "Bhagam Bhag" in 2006.
"Milan was not well, due to which the shoot was delayed for three days. So Akshay agreed to work on April 7 (Sunday) to make up for the lost time. Since this is the film's last schedule, the makers can't push it any further," said a source.
"The permission and availability of the shooting venue (at Ballard Estate.

Imran Khan and Priyanka Chopra may have to push their dates for Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies forward by a few months. Imran would be shooting for Milan Luthria and Punit Malhotra, and Priyanka for Ali Abbas Zafar and Omang Kumar before they meet up to do Tigmanshu's film towards the end of 2013. Suddenly, Priyanka Chopra is everywhere. In 2013, she is committed to doing as many as four films, one of which we now hear is in the danger of being eliminated from Ms Chopra's tightly-packed schedule. It looks like her much-anticipated pairing with Imran Khan in Milan Talkies would have to wait. Priyanka has no time to shoot for Tigmanshu Dhulia's film in Lucknow from August 2013, as per plan. Said a source close to her projects, "Priyanka completes Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer. She then goes into Ali Abbas Zafar's Gunday to be shot in Kolkata with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

2012 was a rare year when the trio of Khans released their films and that too in such close succession. While Salman, Shah Rukh as well as Aamir were seen in mood to take an early lead as far as getting the best possible release of their films, the situation is altogether different for 2013. "Believe it or not but despite all the hype and hoopla around superstars fighting it out to pick and choose the best release date, which in all likelihood falls on a holiday, there is no urgency being shown by either of the three Khans for next year", confirms a trade insider. This can be seen from the fact that even though there have been on and off talks about Salman arriving with his next film on Eid, the irony lies in the fact that as of now there is no concrete announcement of a film that he would be doing,...

When something starts working for them, expect our Bollywood superstars to be sticking to the winning formula. Akshay Kumar has done exactly that for his upcoming film Boss. He has locked the film's arrival to be next summer and set the release date as June 7. Incidentally, this would be exactly a year after Rowdy Rathore which enjoyed a massive response when it released on 1st June this year. "In the times when release dates are becoming more and more precious with every passing year, every superstar worth his salt is keen on blocking a date for him on a yearly basis. While the fight has so far been centered on festive occasions, there are other important dates available only on premium. Akshay feels that 1st week of June is good for an action entertainer of his to release and since the summer season is considered to be one of the most lucrative for Bollywood,...

One of the biggest blockbusters of 2010, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai pitched Balaji Motion Pictures as a production house to look forward to and owing to the critical and commercial acclaim the film fetched, makers almost subsequently announced a sequel. Although the filming of Once Upon a Time in Mumbai (Ouatim) 2 commences only around January 2012, it’s been in the news for a while that Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor have been signed to play the leading roles. Fresh reports imply that the newest addition to the cast is Shahid Kapoor, who is in talks with the makers to play Chhota Rajan, Dawood’s right man turned-rival in the film.
While Akshay Kumar gets set to reprise the character of Dawood Ibrahim from where Emraan Hashmi left off in the first part, Shahid’s introduction in the plot does not have any bearings to any characters from the predecessor film.
